"We got there at 7:30 and the restaurant was empty and very dark. The waiter tells you about the specials, which there were a lot by the time he got to the end you forgot the first item. I ordered veal Parmesan and thinking that spaghetti came with think again you had to pay separate for it. The sauce tasted like it came from a jar. My wife is Italian and also thought it was the worst that she has even eaten. Way to expensive for the quality of food. While not return."

"So why an overall rating of "Outstanding" when some selections rated as "Very Good"? Because for me there is more to dining than just those three selections (Food, Service, Ambience). 1. Staff other than servers - the face of Da Mimmo's is when you are greeted at the door by just about anyone. They were very helpful and had a Midwest attitude toward being friendly (that is a definite compliment). 2. Parking - is one of my banes, with Da Mimmo's complimentary parking lot across the street it works out well in all kinds of weather. 3. Car service - makes Da Mimmo's a perfect place to eat before attending the theater (e.g. Hippodrome or Everyman's) and safe upon your return to your car in their parking lot late at night."

"the hardest part of using Open Table is this questionaire that does not allow you to submit until all the information that YOU want is in there. I am only going to finish filling this out so you can read this comment and not about the place I ate. This is an issue you need to resolve I am a web designer and this is making people leave before completing it. "Such a disappointment. Wanted to try an old standby, but it was not good. Service was lousy, the atmosphere was drab and the specials on the menu you were so overpriced for what they were. I had Chilean sea bass over pasta puttanesca. $45.. The tasted as if it was fried in oil over pasta. The presentation was lacking. My husband had veal Marsala the sauce was so sweet and the sauce tasted is if it had flower floating in it. It was not served with paste or a vegetable. Our waiter was simply going through the motions and seemed if we were an annoyance. Couldn't wait to leave. The positive is that the owner is so lovely and I think she has the potential to recreate an old standby in to something new and fresh."

"My family very much enjoyed our Easter dinner at Da Mimmo's. The fried calamari appetizer was light, tender and tasty; the clams casino was very good, but different in that it included chopped olive. The veal dishes fully met our expectations, and lived up to Da Mimmo's reputation for succulent veal. The seafood & pasta dishes were excellent, as were the desserts and wine. We received a lot of attention from the entire staff, who gave us generous descriptions of the specials and took very good care of us. We all left wanting to make this our new Easter tradition."

"This was a very good Italian meal but way over priced. The majority of the wine list was $100+ per bottle. I split a VEAL CHOP entre with a friend and it was $53 including an extra plate fee. We had to ask for bread and it wasn't warm or good."

"Fantastic restaurant. Great greeter. She offered to have us relax in the bar and listen to an Ialian singer before we ate. No problem holding our table. The food was outstanding. My only complaint(which I am sorry to make since this place is really fabulous) is with the waiter. His demeanor was stiff not pleasant. In addition, he read off the specials from memory(Impressive) and when I selected the Osso Bucco, he said it was not available. Why would a waiter explain thoroughly a special dish that was not available? It makes him look unprofessional. In addition, my girlfriend ordered her Filet without mushrooms and it came loaded with mushrooms and had to be sent back. For a higher quality restaurant like this, it left a bad mark."

"The appetizers were the best part of the meal. My special was good but not worth the price. My husband's special wasn't good. The worst part was that the specials were described to us sounding wonderful but we were not told the prices....NONE.... I guess maybe we should have asked, but in looking at the rest of the menu we figured the prices would be in line with those prices and ordered them. We were very wrong. Our specials were $48 and $52 and NOT worth it. Disappointing since we're new to the area and looking for some place that we could go again and again."

"Used to love this place...now, not so much. The beef carpaccio was excellent but the fish was severely overcooked and my boyfriend's pasta with scampi was not flavorful....our waiter was so so - we had a difficult time getting his attention. Overall, it was a big disappointment -- I know I would never go back."

"Many years ago when Mimmo was alive Da Mimmo's was an outstanding restaurant and a dining experience. The restaurant still retains a certain special Italian ambience and the wait staff works hard to assure the diners' comfort. Unfortunately, the food just doesn't measure up. Portofino oysters seemed to have sat under a heat lamp. A cloyingly sweet brandy sauce was not prepared per order, but sat in a sauce pan somewhere waiting to be ladled on to an otherwise okay seafood ravioli. The same sauce was used on a lobster dish. I associate fresh ingredients and careful preparation with fine Italian cuisine. I didn't find them. The food was not good and did not merit the high prices. Again, the service was very good to excellent. That's about al"

"DaMimmo's has long been known as Little Italy's best, and for good reason. Considering the great restaurants. There, that is a great accomplishment. A little more pricey than the others, the cost is not out of range for fine dining and not so much more to make DaMimmo's out of reach. Famous for the celebrities who have patronized the restaurant for decades - from Presidents to entertainment and sports stars - every patron is treated with the same personal service. As for the celebrities, I first visited DaMimmo's 20 years ago when I learned that Luciano Pavarotti and Frank Sinatra were frequent patrons. If Pavarotti and Sinatra liked it ... 'nuff said!"

"I decided to try Da Mimmo's for Restaurant Week. Prob not the best choice I could have made, since I could have had much better elsewhere for much less money. They offered 3-course dinner for $30.13, but if the veal chop was selected was an additional $5.00, understandably. However, the first salad course was embarrassingly small, the veal chop was very tasty but when ordered medium, came out rare and had to be sent back. The desert was a small slice to homemade cheesecake, which was excellent! I also ordered a glass of cabernet with dinner and a cappuccino and coffee for desert. The desert was great so I ordered a 2nd piece. But $12 for a tiny slice? REALLY!!? $90 w/tax & gratuity for just me was OBSCENE! Won't be back!"

"If you like those t.v. shows where they remodel a restaurant's interior to make the decor contemporary and cutting edge, then you won't like Da Mimmo. Its furnishings are old, the carpet is worn, the interior is dim, and the artwork is...unusual. But, not everything new is good. Da Mimmo has been in Baltimore for years, and it's a classic. The service is polite and professional, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is romantic in an old city way. Give this place a try, and go all the way. Order a bottle of pricey wine, and have one of their desserts with cappuccino after dinner. Overtip the waiter who recited ll ten of the specials without forgetting anything. Go to the remodeled place next week."

"I've been to Da Mimmo for restaurant week and it was my first time visiting. Overall I thought the place was beautiful, the service was great but the food was just okay but not great. The portion was also small. I wasn't full after having a 3 course meal and I'm a 5'4" woman. I don't know it was because it was restaurant week they reduced their portion."

"Extremely poor value for a Restaurant Week participating restaurant. One expects to see goat cheese in a salad titled as such only to learn that there was goat cheese in the dressing. Two, thinly-sliced pieces of a chicken breast weighing no more than two or three ounces with only one visible very small piece of ham and no vegetable is fine for an appetizer but not as a full entree. We had to ask for pepper (none on the table nor was ground pepper offered) No butter came with the the 3 or 4 slices of bread. The owners of this restaurant should try other high-end participating restaurants and see why so many diners can't wait to take advantage of Restaurant Week in Baltimore. We do and will but not at this restaurant ever again."
