"The food is why you go to Lord Gore. I have never had lamb chops so wonderful. Large, tender, cooked perfectly. All our dishes that evening were outstanding. The service was friendly but not top shelf. The atmosphere is lacking. The restaurant it's self looks like a mistake. It's as if it used to be the tired hotel lobby but then they decided to put tables in it and call it a dining room. Very strange. It also is close to the bar which is sports like and noisy Don't set your expectations high for a lovely visual experience. You will however get a wonderful meal."

"Our family of 4 (kids 13 & 11) went there while out for our ski week in April 2013. We found that the service, ambiance and food were great. It is also close to a town bus stop (but be sure to ask which stop is closest to the restaurant, we got off early and had a long walk). I would recommend this restaurant for a quiet family dinner (we ate there for Easter dinner), romantic evening, or large group."

"A little out of the way at the end of the bus route at Golden Peak, this is a great find-excellent value in a lovely atmosphere. We love that you can order small (plenty of food!)or regular size (enough to share) entrees. The menu is varied enough to satisfy almost any dietary quirksand the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The tables are spaced far enough apart to allow good conversation. I would definitely recommend this restaurant."

"Enjoyed our meal. We had a nice table in the corner, with a scenic view. There a large group that came in while we were dining. The group was across the restaurant, but they were very extremely loud. We could here there entire conversation - very annoying! Besides the incident, the meal was very good."

"We have dined at Lord Gore on various trips to Vail. There is an absolutely beautiful view of Golden Peak from the restaurant. The food is excellent and smaller portions are available. I had the rack of lamb that was cooked to perfection, my son had the short ribs, my daughter had the filet, and my husband had the salmon. Everything was absolutely delicious. The restaurant is very small and quiet. The service was good, but there appeared to be only two waiters and a hostess who doubled as wait staff. The evening we went, the restaurant was half full, but the staff seemed overwhelmed."

"Beautiful views, but everything else was lackluster. My steak and my son's burger were not prepared as requested. My son requested a well done burger, but half was medium well, which was tolerable but the other half was medium rare, which wasn't. He sent it back and they threw it in the microwave and brought it back -- at least that's how it tasted. My steak was similarly prepared wrongly. We will never eat at this restaurant again!"
