La Crémaillère Restaurant is a charming French Country Restaurant, nestled in a 1750 white clapboard farmhouse in Westchester County New York, called the "Widow Brush House.”
This romantic, historic & venerable Restaurant, with it's Award Winning Wine Cellar & it's highly reputed Cuisine, has been delighting a local & cosmopolitan clientele for five decades.
Opened in 1947, this quaint country restaurant offers contemporary French fare, beautifully presented with excellent service in an elegant & uniquely classic setting.
The Menu at La Crémaillère emphasizes fresh ingredients & changes on daily, weekly & seasonal basis. Menu items range from a variety of domestic & imported fish selections to seasonal game offerings during the fall & winter.
Very easily accessible on the Greenwich, CT/Bedford, NY border, with easy directions from the Merritt Parkway. Take Exit 31 (North Street, Greenwich, CT). Turn towards Banksville, NY, 4 miles on right hand side

"Having had great scallops at this restaurant before, we were disappointed to find they were sold out, even though we had a 5:30 seating. The quality of the other food was very good, but then we had to wait 20 minutes to get a check, which contained an error that took another 10 minutes to correct. As this was a special occasion, the overall experience was definitely not what it should have been."

"I've been to La Cremaillere before and it never disappoints. This time we dined with another couple for lunch and the experience was totally enjoyable. The Prix-fix menu contained numerous interesting items fit for any taste. My lobster bisque was unique as was the selection of chicken, steak and lamb dishes that we ordered. The deserts were exquisite, each supported by the most delicious French ice-cream and sweet syrup. Our dining experience complemented by the splendor of a beautiful Provence style home decorated throughout with fresh flowers. La Cremaillere is a wonderful place to dine---a must for all."

"As usual, La Cremalliere was a wonderful treat. I booked it through Open Table to enjoy during Restaurant Week in Westchester. Unfortunately, no one happened to mention that, even though Restaurant Week went through Sunday, Saturday night was excluded as one of the nights. We invited friends and when we sat down and asked for the restaurant week menu, we were told it was not available. Supposedly, they tell you this when you book directly through the restaurant. Because I went through Open Table, no one told us this. I always enjoy this restaurant, and so did our friends, however, it is usually a place that we reserve for special occasions. It is quite "pricey" so we were looking forward to taking advantage of it on Restaurant Week."

"After we were seated we waited a very long time before someone delivered bread to the table. But we were not given menus. We asked the bread server for a menu and he politely said he would see to it then disappeared. The matre'de bought over an abbreviated menu and never asked if we'd like to see the full menu. I saw lots of staff people milling about looking busy but the service was slow and we had to waive people down to get any attention. I was never asked if I wanted another glass of wine. Never asked how the meal was. Never offered fresh pepper. And when we were done I had to look for the coat room with no Assistence from the staff who watched me make wrong turns. I left feeling unsatisfied and wouldn't go back."

"We went for lunch, and didn't realize before we made the reservation that it was Restaurant Week. So I can't speak for dinner or the full menu in general... but all of the dishes we selected from the limited menu were delicious and very attentively prepared. It's also rare to find a restaurant that still goes through the ceremony of lifting the cloches and unveiling the dishes at the table simultaneously (even for lunch) -- definitely adds a special touch to the dining experience."

"Actually I was disappointed, especially considering the over the top accolades posted by others.I had the escargot with angel hair pasta. The escargot were rubbery and tasteless. The loin of lamb entree was ok. But the Crème Brûlée was excellent. The presentation of food, service, and ambiance were very nice; it is unfortunate that overall the meal was not exceptional Many years ago this was considered to be one of the very few outstanding restuarants in the county. I don't feel that way today."

"This was our first visit to this fine restaurant. The dining area had low ceilings, so it was intimate and quiet, which we love. We visited during restaurant week and the menu offered a nice selection. The service was attentive, yet did not hover and our waiter was knowlegable and happy to answer our questions. "My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our recent dinner at La Cremaillere. The dining room was nicely decorated with soft lighting, as well as having fresh flowers and a lit candle at each table. The food and service were both exceptional! For a truly memorable meal, you cannot do much better in Westchester County than this wonderful establishment. Definitely recommended for a romantic night out."

"Ahh, La Cremaillere!!!!! Just the MOST gracious restaurant in the world. Everything about this place is more than first rate, starting with the whole loaf of warm, freshly baked bread, and extending through the melt-in-your mouth bread pudding. The service is impeccable and the atmosphere warm and romantic. If you want a memorable food experience while feeling deliciously pampered, this is the place to be. It may be pricey but well worth it."

"The experience was perfect in every way.
From the moment we arrived ( even the valet was polite and helpful) we were treated as guests who have been coming for years.
The restaurant is beautiful and elegant without pretension. The flowers were fresh (as opposed to yesyerday"s)and table arrangements lovely. The napery was of excellent quality as was the china and flatware and table setting( actually correct).
Our head waiter as well as the entire wait staff were attentive to our every need without being overbearing.
The food was divine! Seared fois gras,garden fresh salad,poached halibut in beurre blanc,and venison perfectly done. Each dish was beautifully presentd.
Desserts lovely. Petits Four and espresso comleted gorgeous dinner."
