The Mediterranean Room, Courtyard Patio, and Ocean View Terrace serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. The Mediterranean Room offers a warm and cozy ambiance with a sweeping view of the Pacific, with the patio allowing guests to enjoy the La Jolla atmosphere al fresco. The La Sala Terrace is also available for outdoor ocean view seating.

"Currently under construction. So, it was a bit disorganized, noisy and seemed understaffed. Service was very slow. Food portions were "modest". I had guests visiting from Canada, and they had looked forward to coming to this iconic landmark. So, overall, they the experience did not meet their expectations. I am sure it improve after their remodel."

"While the patio is being renovated, dining on the ocean terrace is somewhat cramped, and service is slow at peak times. We were there for Sunday brunch. Best to go at a quieter time."

"We went for mothers day brunch as we have for several years. This year was truly a disappointment and turned what was becoming a tradition into the last time. The brunch buffet was suitable for a holiday inn. That should say it all. In years past is was worth the pricy $85 per person. this year was a 12.95 version. They should be run out of town!"

"Bad layout, can't watch live music while eating, only hear a loy of loud noise. The waiter delivered a bread bowl to the table next to us and removed the last peice of bread from the bowl with his hand and put it in their new bowl of bread. Took 20 minutes before we had water on our table. Scallops were very fishy (the took off the bill). The linen napkin that was on my setting looked like it went 12 rounds with a pitbull, I had them bring a new one. The heat lamps outside are more for show as they do not hold back the cold air that blows quite hard on the patio seating area (the closest that you can sit to the music). The steak I ordered was delicious."

"We chose La Valencia because it seemed like the perfect place to have breakfast with some out of town family members -- beautiful, serene, elegant and sure to have fine food and great service. Everything was indeed perfect, except for the serene part. The construction (and destruction) of the famous and beloved Whaling Bar was sad to be around, and a huge noisy table of about 15 energetic and boisterous Brazilians (is there any other kind?) was sort of holding the dining room hostage. No one could hear anything, and even the waiters and hostess said they couldn't hear themselves think....
The hotel is under new ownership and they are making changes (even the oatmeal doesn't come with fresh berries anymore)."

"The Mediterranean was truly marvelous. They reserved a view table right next to the window as I requested. We were celebrating a special birthday, so our dessert was decorated with a nice message. Our waiter was attentive without being overbearing; his recommendations on food and wine were spot-on! Thank you for making our special occasion a luncheon to remember."

"We had another great dining experience at The Mediterranean on Sunday night.
5 stars for meeting and exceeding our expectations.
We got spoiled by the filet mignon the first time we ate diner here so we had to have it again. The service, the atmosphere and the food were all wonderful.
