Tight and energetic, Bones is a chef-inspired noodle bar in the heart of Governor's Park. Our windowed corner spot features an eclectic collection of beers, premium sakes, and wines to compliment a menu that changes frequently to offer food as comforting as house-crafted steamed buns and pork belly-topped udon to the more exotic roasted bone marrow. With counter dining for those who love the action of a completely open kitchen, or more intimate tables nestled along the wall, Bones has the amenities of a fine-dining establishment--excellent service, beautiful food--but priced and toned for a more lively experience.
"We went on Mother's Day for dinner and sat outside. The patio area is nice on a warm day and it was a pleasant spot to watch the urban scene wandering/driving by. We split the pork buns- an order of each kind for appetizers. They were quite good. I really enjoyed my udon. My son got the lobster ramen and was quite impressed. I tasted a bit of the broth which was delicious. My S/O got the curry and this brussel sprout hating guy ate them (and the rest of the curry) right up. Portions were good sized; two of us couldn't finish our main courses but the twenty-something son took on the task. Nice, well thought out re-imaginings of steamed buns, ramen and udon."

"Impeccable food from another Bonnano gem. Nice compact wine list with some great by-the-glass selections which pair nicely with the soups and pork buns! Accommodating staff (too noisy inside, and asked to be moved outside during cocktails... they pleasantly agreed). Had a fantastic experience, and always have."

"Order the steamed buns with pork belly! Amazing! After eating here we went directly to Linger to compare with their steamed buns with pork belly and although it was very very close, Bones held out. I would definitely return to both places. Side note: it is also recommended that after a stop at Bones, then Linger, the next stop should absolutely be Root Down for the Banana Creme' Brulee to finish the night."

"I have been to Bones several times now and I always enjoy it. It is such a small space, the noise is always somewhat of an issue but not to bad. For some reason we always seem to get squeezed into the tiny table by the front door. It's unfortunate. I wish it was a bit bigger. It is just so condensed. However, the food is enjoyable so the size can't keep me away."

"Excellent food! Quite noisy and small which gives it the impression of popularity. The food was worth it. Small well developed wine list. Make sure to have reservations for Friday and Saturday dinner. I can't wait to go back!"

"The restaurant is very small. The food was good, although, overpriced. My husband is half-Japanese and he felt there a more authentic, tastier and affordable locals to get the same types of noodle dishes."

"It was quite good although, My wife and I frequent many noodle houses. Though I apreciated the different combos, it ended in too much, too rich for noodles. Just too far from What makes a truly great noodle bowl. ie: Domo, Uncle, or even and esspecialy Oshima. Great effort."

"We ate here last trip to Denver, and this year made sure to eat here twice as we enjoyed it so much. Didn't dissapoint, and glad to see Mike still behind the bar in the open kitchen. Great great place.
Be sure to listen to specials, and what the kitchen reccomends. Wine is great, and the coctails are inspired. Food, well it's excellent. Have tried pretty much all that's veggie/seafood friendly on the menu, and loved it all.
For the meat eaters, marrow bone and sticky buns seem to be very popular.
This is a must when in Denver."

"Bones is a nice place. Trendy and in a great neighborhood. They offer valet parking which is a nice plus in this area as the parking can be tight. I thought the food was very good and unique but I thought the prices were a little high for what you got. I went with a date and it was a little difficult to converse easily over the noise. It wasn't packed or anything, just had high ceilings that made it a little noisey. The service was good and our server was very nice but I can't say it was outstanding. Overall a good to maybe even very good place with prices that are a little ahead of their presentation."

"Really cool dishes, very tasty Asian/seafood combos. The crab dynamite app was AMAZING, and I've never seen so much bone marrow in anyone's roasted bone marrow app as this - three shanks with tons inside."

"The pork belly steamed buns are delicious. I also loved the seaweed salad. Wasn't that thrilled with the Soba noodles as the fish didn't taste very fresh but my dining companions Udon was delicious. Great service."

"Attended BONES for Denver Restaurant week and the place was surprising very nice. It was small with a very unique menu of noodle bowls and other interesting dishes. While small - it has a very personal atmosphere with limited seating so glad we had reservations!
We started with the crispy Brussels Sprouts which were great and then shared the lobster ramen bowl and the braised ribs udon bowl! The menu was great!
Mizuma is owned by the same Chef and two doors down from Bones and after our fantastic experience at Bones with the taste profiles and favors - we are heading there next. And Bones is definitely a place we will back too because there are so many great dishes still to experience!"

"We have eaten at Bones 5 times and this time was disappointing. The waitress never came back after we ordered until she brought the check. A bus person and the hostess did the rest. I ordered a salad that looked great but was so salty I couldn't eat it. I even had my friend try to see if I was correct. They took it off the bill but no apology and no offer to remake it. I had 2 glasses of wine which are relatively small compared to other restaurants but the second one was much smaller than the first. It just seemed like they wanted to turn the table as quickly as possible. The valet parking man was the friendliest person we encountered that night. The Lobster Ramen was excellent as always and the ice cream was also wonderful."

"This restaurant required a credit card number to hold a resevation for 4 with the threat of a charge for no shows. The other 2 of our party got caught in unusual traffic for a weekday night so we ordered drinks and apps as we waited. At one point the hostess walked by and said we might have to be moved to the bar as our table had another reservation immediately after ours (this is 1/2 hour into our seating). Our friends arrived a few moments later, we ordered and finished our meal. The food was average although the rest of our service was very good. This is a small place and the tables are too close together. There are other options not far away that I would recommend over Bones."

"First, a caveat: I must try Bones again once Denver Restaurant Week is over. We had a good experience, but the limited menu was a bit constrictive (although their regular menu is not really all that much longer), and we want to give them another chance to really impress. Although all of the food was enjoyable, I found things to be a little on the salty side; I felt that there were good flavors under there trying to be noticed. Also, perhaps because it was a crowded evening, the entire meal was over in 50 minutes. We felt like we had just sat down when we were paying the bill and wrapping up. They certainly did not rush us by any means, but it was a little strange. I did enjoy the various sake options, and loved the sake sangria."

"The service was mediocre and the restaurant was freezing COLD! Could not enjoy the terrific food for those two. I'd go back when it's not so cold outside, the front door sends the cold air all through the restaurant."

"We went for 5280 - we were 15 minutes late for our reservation - which was not a problem. We felt the selection for 5280 week was too minimal - only duck, Udon or tofu dish - just not enough selection. The edamame appetizer was delicious - the duck for two was very good and the ice cream was ice cream."

"Bones lived up to our expectations for a Bonanno restaurant, it was fantastic. We enjoyed the Denver Restaurant Week deal and ordered additional items like bone marrow and kimchi that we both really enjoy. It is a very small space where you practically eat with strangers at your table, but we found that entertaining. We will be back."

"The food and service were great! The only caveat I have (and which is likely unavoidable given the size and the type of food prep) is how badly I smelled of grease and oil. I had to leave my clothes outside."

"Not quite sure what all the fuss is about. Very small place, tables very close together. Service was fine, but nothing special, they would answer your questions, but it felt as if you were pulling information out of them. Food was good, but honestly not any better than the chinese take out we have here in north denver. Just thought it was too cramped, too loud, and too expensive for what you got. What is with the credit card situation. They need to hold your card for your reservation. Really? In this world of identity theft, they hold your card information, as in our case, for 2 weeks prior to the reservation. I just hope nothing else shows up on our cc statement! Overall it was fine, I doubt I will go back, too many other options"

"Disappointed with restaurant week menu. The duck was not cooked very well, the fat needed more rendering. We were extremely disappointed with the soft serve dessert. The flavors that night were chocolate marshmallow and Graham cracker. We got the twist, but it just tasted like regular chocolate and vanilla. For a restaurant I thought it was disappointing to serve soft serve without a cookie or drizzle of syrup. A garnish of some kind would be nice, since the way it was served was the same as a 99 cent serving at DQ. Other menu items like lobster ramen looked good!"

"The food is hands down fantastic. When you are looking for something more than a steak or the typical bistro vibe, it is a great choice. Great apps, good cocktails, sake flights and fantastic noodles and broth. The place is small but is a lot of fun and the flavors cannot be beat."

"Our cocktails were refreshing and served promptly ( as a cocktail should be!) The marrowbones were succulent and delicious and the apricot moutarde was the perfect pairing for the bones. (They made a great treat for our dog the next day) The lobster ramen was over-the-top and the reason we come back again and again. The service was attentive, friendly and nicely paced. The only drawback, and it was minor, was that I felt the hostess was monitoring our progress through the meal a bit too obviously. It was a little distracting although I know it's hard to be discreet in such a small area. Overall, we had a SUPER meal and love bringing our foodie friends and family here for dinner! Had cocktails at Vesper prior-found it warm and inviting."

"Bones is by far one of my favorite neighborhood finds. The escargot potstickers are well balanced in flavor and a must get even for the squimush who might not normally try snail. The noodle dishes are well thought out and the flavor will delight any pallet. This is a small space, so reservations are a must. You won't regret trying bones for a great dinner."

"Can't believe I'd never made it to Bones, but finally had dinner there last Saturday. It was incredible! We shared the pork belly buns (amazing), the lobster ramen with poached egg (buttery delicious ramen-ness) and the duck lettuce rolls (love putting together my food and eating it with my hands). Had some inventive, fun cocktails. The servers were fantastic- friendly, unpretentious, helpful and funny. Can't wait to go again!"
