"I was excited to take my date to what I thought was going to be a perfect dinner. We were seated almost immediately. Our seats were close to the stage, and the jazz was very nice. I was very disappointed in the service we received. My date and I tried to make excuses for the young man serving us. We argued that maybe because we are a young couple, he thought we were less likely to complain. We also argued that maybe our server was very, very new. Beside the service, The steak I ordered was tough and fatty. The tuna my date ordered was grey and stringy (fatty). I would expect this kind of food and service from Norms, not an "elegant" grill. Vibrato was not worth the money I spent."

"The combination of the artistic decor, good live jazz, excellent food, and terrific and personable service make this restaurant a very special experience. Known for its Martinis. Portions are modest. Two music sets, and nice to start the evening off with music - plan accordingly."

"I usually don't write reviews. We heard great things about Vibrato, but our experience there was anything but. The service has horrible. He was MIA for most of the night--e.g. we had to order from the busboy after waiting for 30 mins, then we ultimately asked for our check from another server. The food was overcooked, underseasoned, and overpriced. The jazz that night was more of an afterthought than the focus. I'd say they played for less than half of our 2.5 hour ordeal. The manager did comp our desert--which didn't arrive until we were literally walking out the door--so there's the one star.
Maybe it was an off night, but with all the awesome options in LA to spend $200 on dinner, we will not be going back."

"Well designed acoustic room, fantastic musicians, exquisite food, efficient mannerly service, not a bad table in the house. It's simply the best place to go celebrate a birthday, an anniversary, or just have a great time in a friendly room with the finest musicians in town. Bring your friends from out of town, they will always be thrilled.

"I was very pleasantly surprised at this venue. I loved the layout, small stage and comfortable, close setting. The tables were set that I felt I was in a small jazz bar, loved it. I would have preferred the seating slightly different that I didn't have to turn my back around all the time to watch the show while eating."

"The food, service and atmosphere were a lovely way to celebrate a birthday. However, the music was disappointing in that the Beltran Jazz quartet was supposed to be performing from 6:30 - 10:30. However, the music didn't start until 7:40 and after an enjoyable 50 minute set, the band left the stage and did not return for 45 minutes. That is NOT continuous entertainment. The dinner prices are high in order to cover the cost of having music while dining and we felt that we did not get our moneys worth."

"Normally, in any kind of club scene, the food is just okay. Vibrato has great food and wonderful ambiance. My boyfriend and I went for my birthday celebration and we had a great time from the sea bass to the pear almond tart, the food was delicious. My only complaint would be the beet salad which was skimpy at best. The Gypsy All-Stars were playing and they had everyone riveted and moving to the exotic sounds. What a great way to celebrate a birthday."

"I eat out almost every night and since I do, I always eat well. Everything about this restaurant was good. I don't usually mention the sound level first but it was just right. What a shame it would have been to have fine musicians and not be able to hear.
FOOD: My crab cake special was delicious as was my friends' bone in rib eye (she declared it better than a top in steak house which shall remain unnamed). It's a bit of a challenge to find on the winding road and in a mall to boot....let's hear it for GPS....but worth the effort."

"My husband and I celebrated our 3rd Wedding Anniversary her and it was fantastic! They have amazing service and a bottle of chardonnay and flowers were set up at the table when we arrived. The jazz band was wonderful as we sat in the front enjoying the music and our food. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone and we are coming back again very soon!"

"Absolutely LOVE this place! The food is just wonderful! My husband and I are foodies and truly enjoyed everything from the appetizers (crab cakes, YUM! ~ Lamb, double YUM!) meal and dessert, chocolate creme brulee and bread pudding!! "Great discovery! First: waitstaff was excellent. Service was spot on, friendly, helpful, efficient. Second: food was very nice. My bone-in rib-eye was perfect. The kitchen was flexible and prepared the food the way I asked. Our salad was split without asking.

"Very special night! The Jass was excellent and the food was delicious. The shrimp brulee was the best thing I have had in months. I did not try my dates Chicken, but he said it was amazing, and the polenta that it was served over was out of this world. I ordered the scallops for myself and they were pretty tasty, however, they overdid it on the salt. The creamed spinach was also unfortunatly a little salty."

Upon our arrival they congratulated my husband. Our waiter, Ruperto was absolutely amazing. He suggested some great dishes and wine. His service was 10+, impeccable! As (Louis Cruz Beltran) )jazz band began to play, he announced that it was a National Holiday, referring to my husbands birthday! My husband said, that this dinner was definitely the best celebration ever. Thanks Vibrato, Ruperto, and staff... We are definitely coming back!"

"Everything was great except the part where their internet went down and the server interpreted that to mean my credit cards were declined. My Visa and Amex companies say different and I had a nice chat with the manager. He was polite enough but considering the special occasion (with future in-laws), in his shoes I would have done more to make good on the dramatic finish to the evening."

"Overall experience was good however I wasn't blown away. I had a 9:30 reservation and wasn't seated until 10pm but hey, it happens. The food was very good though by the time I ordered desert they were out of creme brulee. Surprisingly, their silverware wasn't very good. I should have received a steak knife but my knife was pretty old and I had a hard time cutting the meat at times.
As for the music, although it was good I was hoping for a little more entertainment. After about 20 minutes it started sounded the same...would have been nice to see the musicians get into it and get the people involved."

"So, we really wanted to love this place, and went in expecting an awesome 5-star experience. In reality, it was good, but far from great, and perhaps worth another visit, but we wont be rushing back. Why?
MUSIC: outstanding! Great jazz. Excellent background music, and fun to sit right next to the stage. Awesome musicians.
AMBIANCE: beautiful, great atmosphere, well arranged, good layout of tables, and anywhere you sit you feel close to the stage.
FOOD: Overall good to average. Tuna tartare: very good. Shrimp brulee: average. Farmers Salad: OK, nothing special. NY Steak: good, not great. Sides: garlic fries and mushrooms, both pretty good. But overall, the value for the price was not great, and the food was a bit"

"We chose the early seating, the restaurant allows you a table for only two hours and fifteen minutes. Upon our 6:15pm arrival, only a few tables were seated. We suggest you request the first floor unless you really do not care about the entertainment. Ordering was easy, our server was excellent - answering all questions we had on the menu. One guest at our table raved about the lamb chops, I was quite pleased with the sea bass preparation and flavor. The farmhouse salad was delicious and large enough for two people. Desserts were good too. The music was nice, not very loud and all seven of us could hear our conversation. By the time we left, the bar was packed. Overall we feel the price was worth the lovely evening. Late dining 9pm."

"We were excited to try Vibrato, and invited another couple to join us. We were somewhat dismayed when the confirmation phone call instructed us that we would be asked to leave by 8:45 due to heavy bookings. When I inquired as to whether or not this meant we would miss the music, they said "no". The meal was delicious, and each one of us enjoyed it immensely. However, at 8:45, when we were being escorted from our table, the entertainment for the evening was just getting to the stage. We would have stayed, but the bar area was completely full. Don't make a reservation for earlier than 7:30, or you will miss the reason for going!"

"This was my first time to Vibrato. I went during Dine LA week, which I'm hoping accounts for the sketchy service we received. I think they may have been overwhelmed, or...? We spoke to the general manager, who was great and offered to pay for our drinks. The ambiance is fantastic if you appreciate live music. I loved the fact the musicians were set high, center stage. If you consider the back story of the restaurant, it makes perfect sense! The decor was quite nice and added to the overall affect.
I had the filet mignon,which was fine. I wasn't bowled over by any of my food items, but all was good. My boyfriend had the free-range roasted chicken which he absolutely loved! We'll definitely go back."
