Located in the heart of Vancouver’s premier restaurant & fashion district, Glowbal has been voted the hottest new restaurant. A combination of sleek décor, friendly professional service, energetic atmosphere & innovative comfort cuisine. Award winning Chef Jason Vallee heads up the open kitchen where guests can sit & watch satays, steaks and seafood sizzle.
"We shared a starter salad and 3 satays. The satays were excellent. The salad a bit small, but nice. Main courses (lamb and salmon) were very good and cooked to our liking. Beans a little undercooked. The gratis (on account of our anniversary) desert selection plate was scrumptious; we took some home in a doggy back. This gift was much appreciated. Good choice of wine by the glass."

"The food is good and the service is excellent. That really makes the difference from "ya, it's okay" to "Let's go back". Russell is a marvelous waiter. Kudos to him."

"The hosts welcomed us in for late reservations and were very welcoming despite the chaos at the front and at the bar. That is where the good service ended. Our server was uninterested in our table or selling food to us even. A friend of mine asked a basic question on the amount of food that came on a platter and was given a roll of the eyes, a brisk answer that "it'll be fine for you" One drink order took 30 minutes and that was only after flagging down either a manager or host who was very attentive. Our server dropped our drinks at the table shortly thereafter clearly irritated that we had asked someone else for our drinks and the drink order was wrong. Not wanting to risk waiting another 30 minutes, we drank those drinks and left."

"Noisy and not in a good way. Turning music up loud to try and create an atmosphere is very yesterday. Food is adequate but not so good as to cause a repeat visit. There are too many better alternates, Yaletown has become punter-ville."

"Seldom have a truly awful experience but this was it! Didnt expect much given this was a busy Friday night and would have tolerated even a moderate standard of quality and service. Cramped space, very slow service, music was extremely loud...could not even hear the waitress when she came to the table. Quality of food was terrible, certainly not up to par with any of the other Yaletown restuarants. Three different dishs for three different diners and none of us finished our meal; it was that bad...never had an experience like this before....will not go back and will certainly not recommend. Many other much better choices in Yaletown with same price range and better service."

"What a difference in the service than two years ago. But how weird that my reservation was booked for a party of THREE. My friend who arrived first was seated at a table for TWO. Then when I arrived, the lady thought my reservation was for a party of FOUR. There's a LOT of confusion."

"It was very busy on Valentine's night. The server came to ask if we have room for dessert when we hadn't had our entree. It was a long wait before anything else showed up after our appetizer. I just assumed the kitchen was busy. Evidently, the server forgot our entree. My paella risotto was not that hot but I decided not to ask the server to reheat it."

"From start to finish, the service was outstanding particularly from our server Scott. The scallop satay was cooked perfectly, and the meatball was tasty but overall the starters weren't memorable. We ordered steaks for our main courses-boy were we disappointed. Two of us ordered rare steaks, one came out medium-well and the other completely well done. Scott immediately changed the steaks for us and apologized profusely. The chef very graciously came out and apologized when the new steaks arrived. The tenderloin was to order, however, the ribeye was still unevenly cooked from medium rare to medium-well and very tough. I was really hungry and didn't want to trouble Scott again so I ate it. Service was impeccable and the only thing notable."

"My girlfriend and I had a reservation at 6:45. We placed our order at 7, it took over an hour and half to get our food!! My girlfriend ordered glass of wine for her meal and our waitress brought the wine after we finished our meal!! Terrible service!!! Took us almost 3 hours to get out of there."

"Not a place to take your 81 year old mother-in-law for her birthday! It was a little to "lively" for our liking...could not relax and converse in that atmosphere,(blaring techno music!) but clearly it's a great place for the young people. It was very busy the night we were there, but it should still not account for both my meal and my hubbys', to arrive almost cold. My mother-in-law ordered lobster, but in my opinion wasn't the atlantic lobster. It was very small and grey looking, and was underdone. They offered to make another one, and it came back the same. Our food was very tasty, and appy's were great, aside from that. Don't think we'll go back, as we like to relax and visit when we go out to dine. Great place for the twentysomethings!"

"The ambiance was nice. But the service was extremely slow. Our meal took at least 40min and there was hardly anyone there. After waiting that long you would think the food would be bursting with flavours, but it was really bland. The kitchen over did our tenderloin twice. We were not to happy about that. We were to hungry so we ate our food while our friend who ordered the tenderloin waited (now waiting for another 20 Min). We were pretty much done by the time her meal came out. We think that was not acceptable at all. The server could have made a difference by changing/working with the situation. If that was me, I would have brought an appetizer to hold the guest over. Instead he just made us wait and just brought us one dessert on the hou"

"The only thing keeping this from being an "Outstanding" evening was the location of our table. We were right across from the kitchen door and the open kitchen area, so there was constant traffic passing our table, and loud exchanges between kitchen staff and waiters. I made the reservation weeks ahead so expected a better table away from the hubbub."

"I had really high hopes for this restaurant, as I’ve never been here before. We had arrived 15 minutes early for our reservation, and were seated promptly, but outside. I had asked if there were any tables inside, and the hostess said that they were fully booked, even though there were quite a few tables empty. She said that we didn’t specify inside seating, which I had no idea you had to request when making a reservation. It was very cramped outside, the heater was on way too high, and you could barely have a normal conversation being so close to other patrons. We also felt that we got the shaft sitting outside due to us ordering dine out, which we opted out and ordered off of the regular menu. I will not recommend this restaurant."

"Can definitely see why Glowbal is said to be the "Best Brunch in Yaletown". The service was great, staff was friendly and waffle on the brunch menu was absolutely to die for! Will be back VERY soon for more. :)"

"Glowbal is awesome. The food is of utmost quality. I enjoyed a number of the different satays. The place was buzzing with ambience and a positive Friday night vibe. I look forward to our next visit. Fair prices as well for quality food."

"A friend warned us against going there for Dine Out Vancouver. They cautioned that we would be rushed and the food would be of questionable quality. Our group of three still wanted to try it as a way to experience the spot since none of us had been there before. We should've listened to my friend. In all fairness, the server and food runner were right on top of it and worked nicely together. The whole restaurant staff seems to have huge personalities. Where it should be about the guest, it feels a lot more about the front of house. Yes, I get from your over-the-top "we did it first" that you are very proud of the Globall Group but it comes off as pompous. No one asked about us! Food mediocre and rushed. Won't be back."

"Ate here during Dine Out Vancouver. The roasted butternut squash soup was yummy. The lamb shank was huge! Two people could have shared it. It was good though it could have used more salt. The risotto that came with it was good. Enjoyed eating outdoors at the heated patio. Great service."

"I tried this restaurant with friends as part of the Dine Out program for a birthday dinner. Overall, our dishes were very good and well presented. Portions were large, esp. the lamb main course. We were only a little disappointed with the Peanut butter bar Chantilly cream and berry compote (dry and too sweet). But again, the dish was nicely presented. Finally, I would recommend this restaurant for groups of young people as the dining area was fairly loud."

"We had a reservation and showed up on time, however, were 'suggested' to sit outside. We declined. We then had to wait until an indoor table paid and cleared. On the upside, the owner offered us a complimentary glass of Prosecco while we waited. Nice touch, not to mention appropriate. Patrons should be contacted/advised in advance if they would like to be seated outside (at least in the winter months). Food was delightful, although my salmon was slightly overdone. My fellow diner RAVED about the lambshank. Tables are situated FAR TOO CLOSE TOGETHER for what I would consider to be an 'enjoyable' evening. That was really the only detractor."

"I added a third member to the party at the last minute, so we were seated in the heated patio area. I think this would be great in better weather, but it was cold and damp, and despite the heaters there was quite a draft. Several large parties kept the volume up, but all in all it was a good experience. The wine I ordered was not good enough, so the waiter happily took the bottle back and made another suggestion which was fine. The food servings were generous, and the price point for Dine Out was in the moderate range... so it was great value overall. We all enjoyed our selves, the food, and the wine."

"The outdoor brunch is INCREDIBLE at Glowbal, which is why I chose it for Dine Out. However, inside was extremely crowded, our friend kept getting bumped in the aisle by every patron and server, we barely had room to get in and out because the tables were packed so close together, and we had to shout to hear each other... not the best ambiance. The food was good, and the server attentive. Overall it was okay, but couldn't measure up to the incredible, quiet, warm, covered patio brunch experience where the food can make you tear up with joy. I love Glowbal brunch, but I only 'like' the dinner."
