"Food and severs were very nice but I thought it was little too highly priced. It was a Mother's Day set menu for $75 per person and I didn't think the selection of the set menu did not warrant $75. But my real problem was that our reservation was for 2:30 pm so we were one of the last tables for the Mother's Day luncheon crowd. As the people around us were leaving, they started breaking down the tables and rolling the tables away and it occurred to us that we sat in the area that was actually lounge area of the hotel and not part of the Catch restaurant. And by removing the tables around us, it made us uncomfortable to remain in the midst of all the ruckus. So in the end, we felt we were rushed off as they needed to convert back the area."

"My girlfriend and I spent the night there a few weeks ago and had a very nice romantic time away from our daughters ;-)
Our room was very nice and breakfast was delicious, first time zuchini hashbrow was good and she really enjoyed her pancakes! We judged wished we had more time! All that said, I was very pleased to be seated at the window with a terrific view of souther cal life and we all enjoyed the Mother's Day lunch menu!"

"Most of the main dishes were good, the deserts were weak. The crab cake was excellent, everything else was pedestrian. Service was VERY slow and disorganized. We enjoy leisurely paced dining, but this wasn't it. The restauarant was half empty yet it took 2 1/2 hours. Portions, were modest, healthy or normal but for $75 a cup of coffee isn't included at a brunch? Then a tip was added automatically to the bill for a part of 5. I can only guess they knew how bad the service was. Valet only parking, $7 with validation, $13 without - yet with Valet only parking NO ONE asked if we had a parking ticket to validate . If you are not a guest at the hotel, there is no reason to dine there. This "Catch" should be thrown back."

"Anything for mom... but would much prefer to come on a night that wasn't over filled. Been here several times and is a family favorite will definitely return. The private room in the back is a great spot for special occasions and/or private events."

"What a treat! I am 8.5 months pregnant and sitting at a restaurant isn't usually very comfortable--thank you Catch for having the most comfortable chairs I've been in yet! They even have a little back pillow to support you :)
As always the food was incredible. I had the filet he had the salmon."

"Had lunch on a Friday with some friends . The ocean view was outstanding. The food was great. The service was a little slow, but good overall. My primary disappointment is with the valet parking which seemed severely understaffed and overwhelmed by the number of guests. It took almost 45 minutes to get our car, and it seemed that they couldn't find it."

"The view was lovely, but I was very disappointed with the food. My Spanish omelette was more like a rubber frittata -- most likely microwaved. I had the doughnut holes for dessert and they had the texture of chewing gum, the dough was awful. My date enjoyed her Lobster Club and tomato soup; so perhaps I just chose the wrong menu items. But brunch without alcohol (coffee & water only) for $112 -- I would expect a lot more than a great view.
The service, although pleasant, was mediocre -- our server didn't check in with us and we had to ask for more coffee, a dessert menu, the half of sandwich that disappeared to be boxed for take home and the check."

"My $37 John Dory fish was not as good as the $34 Special of the Day Barramundi my significant other ordered. I felt my dish was overpriced. Our server Jeremy was not very attentive. I asked to take a picture, he said he will be back in a second. I waited long enough and called someone else. How hard was it to take a picture of us? In addition to that, he would check back at the worst times. It seemed he was more attentive to the table next to ours since they ordered wine.
Lastly, he tried to make small talk near the end. He was trying to build rapport with us so that he can earn a bigger tip. Halfway through our conversation, while I was talking; he said he will be right back and never came back. Then he came back with the bill."

"Service was beyond terrble. We all ordered several starters and no main course - one would assume that the server would have told the kitchen this. The yellowtail crudo arrived at the same time as my grilled octopus - so we asked that the octopus be returned to the kitchen. The server returned the grilled octupus on a scalding hot plate that indicated immediatly that the kitchenhad placed the it under a heat lamp... while this might work for some dishes, it does not work for octopus! The manager came over and then the chef came out to say he made the new octupus himself - I wanted to ask why he would have allowed the kitchen to place it under heat lamps but by this point the service had delcined so much we just wanted to eat and get out."

"The restaurant is beautiful! I really could not complain. We had window seating with an ocean view (as requested when booked) and it was very pleasant and romantic. They do have great Pinot and amazing fish! The black cod was superb and the prawns were delicious, small portions which made you want more ;) - can't wait to go again! The view overlooking the ocean from the eclectic bar was gorgeous!"

"Their Cioppino was delicious. I had a few bites of of the Wild Mushroom Cavatelli and that was very good as well. I highly recommend this place along with the following appetizers that were very tasty -- Marinated Beef Carpaccio and the Grilled Spanish Octopus. If you are also up for a cocktail, their Old Fashioned was good. A few other things to note... their bread was very fresh and warm and went well with olive oil while their portions for all their dishes were perfect."

"This was our first visit to Catch. What a find! We arrived just before sunset, and the ocean view was incredible. The staff was friendly, very knowledgeable about the menu (and ingredients), and they made thoughtful suggestions about food and wine pairings. We chose only seafood, and every dish was more delicious than the next: the yellowtail sashimi, the scallops with mushrooms, the black cod and the bronzino (from head to tail) -- all were fantastic. The chocolate tart to finish really took us over the edge. Catch is now one of our favorite restaurants."

"This was my fourth time at Catch, and the other two times had been so great I decided to come to celebrate my birthday. While the food was once again very good, the service was a bit below par. My previous times at Catch I'd been waited on by a nice, slightly older man who was very attentive and efficient. This experience however, we had a much younger guy who, as someone best put it, was aloof the whole night. Perhaps it was because he knew that they had already added 20% gratuity to our party of 6 (a bit surprising, usually it's only 18% and for parties of 8, but ok) so he figured there was no need to put forth much effort. Overall it was good, again, but service could have been better"

"We had dinner at catch , this is our second time. The server noticed us right away brining a very homely and family feel to the place. Even though this place is hoity toity its got its own charm .. The piano lounge is out of this place they have some good artist come out and play. The food is incredible every dish has something to lend to the palette."

"We had the dinela menu. Everything was delicious including the octopus! Not chewy, very tender. The beef filet dish and cioppino were both scrumptious. We both got the chocolate tart which was rich, but light enough to eat the whole thing, yikes. I loved my wine, a syrah. Great experience. Then we got to hang out in the lobby area which is always a great scene."

"Seafood was fresh and tasty. Octopus appetizer was outstanding. Entrees were good. The Valet and maitre d could benefit from a more welcoming attitude. . Our waiter was not attentive to our parties needs. The service was basic rather than at the level one would expect for this type and price of restaurant. Fortunately the food was tasty enough that we ended up enjoying our evening and we rated it good overall."
