"Well, I expected a whole lot more from this restaurant than I got. Food was, at best, acceptable. But we waited a minimum of 20 mins between courses. Was a LONG evening. And really, food was not worth either the wait or the price. Had foie gras - a mere 2 bites for about $18 bucks. Nice, but again, way overpriced. Don't think I'll be back at a Kevin Taylor restaurant anytime soon. Have to say, Aldo, this is the first restaurant where I've ever left the dessert rather than eating it. Yuck!"

"The service and ambiance at this restaurant were very good however, but those items were quickly overshadowed by food that was not particularly good. The food was "okay" at best, and at the prices charged by Kevin Taylor, I would say the dishes fall woefully short of what they should be. Perhaps my expectations were too high for this restaurant, but I did not feel that the food was very good even in comparison to several lower priced restaurants around town. It feels a little like Restaurant Kevin Taylor is resting on its reputation and somewhat captive pre-concert crowd, but that can only last so long."

They tweak their menu toward the current modified 'nouvelle' while maintaining a sure footing in a tradition of good ingredients that are always well turned out. "What a disasterous night. Kevin Taylors sooo did not live up to the hype.
Food was mediocre and had no character. The presentations were not exciting and much of the food tasted as if it came from a bulk food service delivery service. I did see very little in the area of local produce presented with meal.
The service was horribly SLOW and disjointed. We ordered the seasonal menu sampler and waited 20-30 minutes between courses, often having to ask the head waiter to intervene.
This restaurant was LOUD and boring. The decor lacked excitement and looked a lot like my grandmothers dining room.
Overall a poor experience and I am pretty easy to please. Definately will not go back or try the other restaurants in the group."

"The service was terrible. We had to get up from the table to find the ice cooler with our bottle of wine when our glasses remained empty and then start to pour it ourselves before someone came to assist. Perhaps they were short staffed rather than inept but it was totally unacceptable. They kept us waiting between courses. They never asked if we liked the food.
The food was good but not outstanding as it should have been given the reputation. The salmon was bland rather than seasoned as described on the menu. Same for the snapper."

"Went to celebrate my birthday. So disappointing.. Terrible service from the get go. Had to wait for everything. I had gazpacho and fish. My husband had foie gras and lamb. All of it was overcooked and flavorless. Two courses took 2.5 hours. Waitress had a bad attitude and spent more time in the bar than the dining room. At 7:00 on a Friday night, no wonder they only had 5 tables seated. Lousy end to an otherwise great birthday. Take Kevin Taylor's off your "Restaurants to try " list."

"I have never had French food before so this was a treat. Not sure if i can give an accurate review because i have nothing to compare it too. but the service was gr eat. they give you a wine list on an ipad (that was new and fancy). I recommend the sweet potato gnocchi's, and the tenderloin. my friend got the bison and short rib which i did try and it was outstanding. i have been told if you go to the denver you need to have bison. i also recommend the snicker dessert! knocked my socks off!"

"I wanted my three guests (one of whom was a performer in Don Giovanni) to have a four-star dining experience before the Opera, and it exceeded all of our expectations. We chose the 6 course "seasonal tasting menu" and two of us added the mixed wine pairing. This turned into 7 courses when we were presented with a surprise amuse-bouche featuring three bite-size indescribably delicious morsels with a complementing wine (which showed off the skills of the chef!) All the dishes were of the highest standard highlighted by intricate flavors. Some favorites were: Foie Gras Mousse Terrine; White Bean Cappuccino soup, and Scotch and Cigar dessert. Service was impeccable. This Denver hot-spot is only five minutes walk to the Opera!"

"This was a special occasion for us and we appreciated the effort made by the staff to accommodate us. We had made an advance request for the restaurant to provide us with some options that would allow us to enjoy a fine dining experience while honoring medically restricted dietary considerations. We were pleasantly surprised to find specially prepared menus at our table when we arrived. We were given multiple options from which to choose. The food was delicious although the entree price for the vegetable based entrees seemed a bit high. Nevertheless, the experience was most enjoyable and the thoughtful preparation helped make our occasion everything we hoped it would be."

"We went on a Wednesday night for a birthday dinner. We arrived for our 7pm reservations to only one other table. We noticed the waiter was the host as well. Unfortunately two more tables came at the same time causing the waiter to frantically run from table to table, and service became slow. We were blown away at the amazing tasting menu offered (4 full courses for $65). The food itself was amazing, and was perfectly prepared. Everything we ordered- from scallops, to lamb, to buffalo strip was perfect. Our only complaint is that service was very slow. Our dinner lasted 3.5 hours, and partially because it is a french inspired restaurant, but also because there was only one server! We would recommend this restaurant to everyone!"

"We were very excited to try RKT, being one of the "best" restaurants in Denver. However it left kind of a bad taste, no pun intended, in our mouths. The pork dish had one note-tart. The spaetzle, apples, artichokes and PX sauce were all tart. Even though the pork was medium, it was tubby. The onion soup was not very good. The beef ribeye & confit cap were replaced on the menu with NY strip w/braised rib. When asked about this, the waiter said it was the same dish. Ribeye the same as strip??? I was looking forward to the caramelized banana bread on the Foster, but it was not caramelized as advertised. A lot of the flavors were just blah, not what was expected. The best things were the lobster amuse, foie gras and the cassis macaroon."

"For diners who love to try new tastes with a unique presentation and who have a couple of hours to savor their meal, I highly recommend the 6 course seasonal tasting menu. I found the portion sizes and the timing between courses to be just right so that my appetite was strong enough to last right up to the "Scotch and Cigar" dessert course. Unlike other high-quality restaurants whose atmosphere can border on stuffy, whisper-quiet, and uncomfortable, Restaurant Kevin Taylor had a comfortable, but elegant environment. The seating and the noise level were such that I found myself comfortable enough to thoroughly enjoy my meal. The wait staff was efficient, courteous, helpful, but not overbearing."

"We had dinner at Restaurant Kevin Taylor 2 years ago during Restaurant Week and were blown away by the food & service. We were hoping for a similar experience this year but discovered that this meal couldn't quite live up to those expectations. We arrived early for our reservation and had to wait until half an hour after our reservation to be seated. Once we ordered, it seemed like the food for each of the first two courses took forever to arrive. The restaurant was mostly full during our entire meal but no one was seated in the overflow area upstairs. The servers were still attentive - especially the bread server. The meal took 3 hours. The food was very good but not as amazing as our last visit. Overall we left feeling a little let down."

"I am sorry to give such a poor review, but our experience was mixed at best. I understand that Restaurant Week is not the favorite with servers at upper echelon restaurants, but our server was completely disinterested in our meal. Truly, he was actually rude to my partner and I. The other staff were all friendly and the food was outstanding, but we would not be interested in returning in the future. Thanks."

"The restaurant week menu was amazing! some of their classics. They had a 25 dollar wine paring to go with the 52.80 menu that was totally worth it. They had 5280 wine specials too, selected bottles for $26.40 and $52.80. We got a bottle for the table as well as the paring. I have already suggested this restaurant to many people. If Denver ever gets a Michelin star I vote for Kevin Taylor!"

"Well rounded Denver Restaurant Week menu. Pork loin and salmon were decent size with spaetzle and fennel, respectively. Adding to the pleasure of these dishes was that everything came out super hot. Wish we both hadn't tried the onion soup, it was under-seasoned and vinegary tasting. Clever desserts imitating Snickers and Bananas Foster could be addictive."

"Dinner here is always the best. As recommended by my waiter, I had the "green eggs & ham" to start off. The eggs are cooked low/slow for 60min!-yummy. The second waiter said to go w/ NY strip and braised short ribs so I did and it was mucho gusto but not enough on my plate. Dessert came without me asking so I was a bit torked at that, but the "Snickers" was very good. I would come here in a heart beat with a date."

"We went for restaurant week. The food was really good, especially the bread, the complimentary amuse-bouche, the egg and chorizo first course and the vanilla creme brulee dessert.
We had the wine paring but were disappointed by the quantity poured (third of a glass) for the price paid ($25). Last time we came our sommelier was way more generous, which made our experience better. Service is good but speedier than usual during 5280 week."
