"Fabulous - one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. The service was absolutely impeccable from the moment they greeted you. The waiter was extremely helpful with the wine list and even though we were here for Denver Restaurant Week they treated us wonderfully. The food was excellent, my husband got the roasted boar special and loved it, and I really enjoyed my creme brulee dessert. Will definitely keep this in mind for a special occasion."

"We enjoyed the 4 course menu tasting and opted to have the restaurant provide the associated wine paring for each course ordered. Each guest at the table was able to choose their own selections from the menu for each course. The wine parings were excellent and provided an experience that should not be missed.
Service at Kevin Taylor was excellent. All servers were polite and knowledgeable.
The waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and his recommendations were fabulous.
The presentation of each course was amazing and the flavors were wonderful. I would highly recommend this restaurant especially for special occasions."

"We went for Denver restaurant week, and were very happy with the food, service, and ambience. We were fortunate enough to get a table on the mezzanine level overlooking the first floor. Our server, Donato, gave a solid wine recommendation and was very attentive. We appreciated that we weren't rushed through our meal (as we've experienced in other restaurants during restaurant week). The Lamb raviolo was wonderful!"

"Overall, the restaurant was nice, but we were underwhelmed. The restaurant is supposedly so great, but nothing was extraordinary. The salad course was okay, not bursting with flavor. The lamb was a very simple preparation and actually could have used some salt and pepper. The dessert was pleasant enough, but forgettable. I actually can't recall what it was. Perhaps it was just the restaurant week menu, but it just wasn't great."

"As far as the food goes I had the NY Sirloin with Brisket and while it was very good My boyfriend had the Wild Boar which was out of this world. A definite must experience for food lovers in Denver! They had some decent selections on the wine list for $52.80 week, however if I were to go there any other time of year I would say the wine list was pretentious and had limited variety only providing the absoloute best and very expensive, and I feel there are some great wines that don't have to be over $100 a bottle."

"The food was good, but the service wasn't what you would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. It took almost 30 minutes for our order to get taken after we sat down, we ordered drinks that were never brought, and 2 and a half hours after we had been there we had to request that they bring our check before dessert because we had plans for after dinner. In their defense it was restaurant week and quite busy, but I had been looking forward to trying the restaurant for a while and left a bit disappointed. If I had paid full price I would have been very disappointed."

"We were disappointed with the portion size during the 5280 event. We were clearly still hungry after spending $100. for dinner. The food was ok but we could have gotten equally good food cheaper somewhere else and had enough to satisfy our hunger. If restaurants cannot serve the same food, same size for 5280 as they usually do, why particapate in the event? This experience would not make me want to return there ever again for dinner."

"Service was a little slow--it took a long time initially to get drinks and take our order (around 20 minutes after we flagged down the server), but once it got going, the servers were great. In particular, we got some excellent wine recommendations. We were also very fortunate to sit in the wine cellar, which was a gorgeous setting. Food was great, and, although it was 5280 week, the chef entertained us by bringing out additional small plates. I truly believe this experience would be worth it any time of year."

"It was a disapointing experience. My daughter is a vegetarian and as such we searched for the best menu choice for her at hte various restaurants. We booked the reservation. BUT when we got there the menu was different for 5280 week. So she wasn't happy, the food we did get was good, but it would have been nice to have the correct menu posted. Thanks"

"We dined at Kevin Taylor's for the first time on Saturday night. I would like to forward the feedback on about the poor service. We were seated right away and the server visited us quickly but the drinks didn't arrive for a long time. We ordered pre dinner drinks and a bottle of wine for the wine drinkers who didn't select "pre dinner drinks." None of the drinks were brought until the first course was served. The bottle of wine that was brought up was the wrong bottle which we noticed. The next step was that the waiter came back saying they were out of our selection so it took another 5 minutes or so to find a comparably priced bottle. We didn't receive any type of apology for the wait. We expeceted more from this level of place."

"We ate here for Denver Restaurant and enjoyed absolutely everything about our dining experience. The wait staff was so professional — always ready to answer any need without hovering around the table. The Restaurant Menu was well-balanced for all tastes. I had the squash soup which was creamy yet not heavy. My husband ordered the gnocchi and said they were perfectly prepared. We both had the salmon which was also cooked to perfection. The salmon was served on a bed of mustard lentils, and although my husband doesn't normally care for lentils, he ate every one. For dessert we ordered the creme brulee— very smooth, with a nice serving of fresh fruit. The restaurant truly deserves its five diamond rating!!"

"My date and I thoroughly enjoyed Restaurant Kevin Taylor from the moment we walked in the door. The host was not only friendly but funny as well and made us feel like regulars although it was our first visit. Our waiter was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu. The only complaint we had was about how small the portions were. I’m a fairly small lady and I was still hungry when we left. That doesn’t ever happen. Aside from that it was a great experience."

"Dinner was good...just good. We went there for restaurant week so all they had was their restaurant week fixed menu, so I can't comment on how their food is during normal business. Anyhow, the food was good and I was ok w/ spending the $52.80 for it...would I go there and spend full-price for what I ate? That depends on what full price is (i'd assume quite a bit more than $52.80 for 3 courses for two people), but I doubt it. If you want "fine dining" and a classy atmosphere, check Palace Arms. If you want steak or seafood with a great atmosphere, go to one of the many awesome Denver steakhouses (Elways Cherry Creek, Capital Grille, etc). For me, this place didn't come close to living up to the hype."

"We went to Restaurant Kevin Taylor for Restaurant Week and it was amazing. They offered a variety of selections on the Restaurant Week menu and all were innovative and sounded delicious. I had the lamb loin with braised lamb shank ravioli and it was wonderful. The lamb was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. My fiance had the truffled winter squash soup for an appetizer and it was quite possibly the best soup I had ever tasted. It doesn't have a vibrant bar scene but I kind of liked that because the servers were attented and they clearly focus their attention on the food. From the presentation to the flavor, everything was perfect. We will definitely be back even when Restaurant Week is over."

"The food and service were outstanding. Don't miss the Foie Gras and both the Lamb and Steak dishes had little twists in preparation that gave each of them a unique flair. The wine list is extensive and there are excellent selections in all price ranges. Attention to detail was not lost on the deserts and the creme brulee was superb. We were seated in the wine cellar which some people might find fun and different. Our opinion was that it wasn't cozy and felt more like basement. The other rooms we found to be much more attractive and romantic."

"We have been to Kevin Taylor on multiple occasions because of the excellent service and ambiance. This weekend was the first time we were seated in the "wine cellar" rather than the main section. The service and ambiance were far from what we had come to expect for this expensive restaurant. We worked hard to flag someone down so we could order a bottle of wine and refills of water glasses. The room had very little in terms of sound insulation so when the tables and chairs were being moved to set up for a large dinner group and the large group arrived, it was really not a nice experience. We brought friends with us and I am not sure they will go back. We probably will, but will make sure we aren't delegated to the wine cellar."

"We went to Restaurant Kevin Taylor for the "5280" Restaurant week promotion on Feb. 20. The food and service were great: I had the gnocci for an apppetizer which was fantastic (avoid the salad, it's a small handful of what looked like clover and according to our dining partners, was not good), and the Scottish Salmon for main course, which was also fabulous. I do have 2 complaints, however: The Hotel Teatro lobby was FREEZING that night and the restaurant was also a bit on the cool side. But more of all, the drinks were OUTRAGEOUSLY priced with a limited wine by the glass selection. For example, I only had one choice for a chardonnay and it was $15. Total rip-off. Our first round of drinks was $47. We won't be back for this reason."

"Great for the Denver Restaurant Week price. We supplemented an extra $10 for the scallops and $15 for sea bass. Our first entree, the gnocchi, was mostly flavorless, and was my least favorite. The sea bass, while very tasty, was slightly overcooked. The dessert was spot on, absolutely fantastic, and the service was top notch. I wouldnt pay the full menu price for this food, but was a lot of fun for the $52.80 deal."

"I went for Restaurant Week. I acknowledge it is not your regular menu, but the food was terrible. It's not that it was burned, or cold, or otherwise prepared incorrectly, it was that it was boring. The steak was boring and bland, as was the brisket and lamb. It reminded me of sunday dinner at home. I haven't made a steak that bland since I was 16. Truly disappointing. I was expecting big things from you and I was let down. I will not be back. By the way, screwing up creme brulee and cookies and cream ice cream (the cookies and cream dessert tasted like freezer burned grocery store ice cream) is inexcusable."

"All though the main course was good ( Ahi tuna ) the appetizer was bland ( gnoci)
We were seated upstairs were it was hot and a little loader than downstairs.
There was one person waiting all six tables. We were not even asked for our orders for over 15 minutes
We did not even get bread for over 25 minutes and then had to ask for butter, salt and pepper"

"On Valentine's day, my girlfriend and I asked our waiter if we could sit next to each other instead of across the table. The space between the tables would easily allow this. Our waiter replied "I'll work around you" and left. I politely moved my girlfriend's chair and setting. The ambiance of the main dinning area is cold and our waiter made it even colder. Our dinner was good, but we will not go back to this restaurant again. There are too many excellent choices in Denver dining to put up with this sort of rudeness."

"The service is outstanding; staff are watchful & helpful. The menu is nice & offers a wide variety of items if you like meats/fish. I didn't I find chicken/fowl dish on the menu, however, & that seemed unusual to me. I am disappointed that RKT does not use more locally grown, sustainable products & the staff couldn't answer questions about farming practices (though they did consult as needed.) Note: not "green."
I made the reservation 1 month prior to our visit and we were seated promptly in the middle of the dining room. I was asked whether the table was okay for us &I wished I had declined. It was a busy spot, not very private, & waiter bumped my seat when serving a large neighboring party. I saw other (intimate) tables available."

"Overall: very disappointed, even before considering the the price. The food was very hit-or-miss: a few dishes excellent; most fair to poor. Portions, especially given the price, are almost laughable. Service was also a huge disappointment; the restaurant was only 60% full & we didn't even get water until nearly 15 minutes after we sat down. Worst of all, the manager is easily one of the most disingenuous & uncaring people we'd ever met. When we told him very politely & rationally that we were dis-satisfied with a certain dish he responded very inappropriately w/ a giant smile on his face & the words "that's fantastic; I'll tell the chef." Avoid this restaurant, as you are more likely than not to be (quite)unhappy."

"Absolutely the best restaurant in Denver. Our experience at Kevin Taylor was better than many other high-end restaurants we have been to in places like Chicago (Spiaggia), New York, or Paris. It is an expensive night out, but we highly recommended it if you are a food and wine lover."

"The night of our romantic anniversary celebration, there was a private party booked that took up the whole floor. We were placed upstairs that seemed to be an overflow area (not part of regular restaurant) which overlooked the party downstairs. Way too loud for a romantic dinner. Food was good and enhanced by the wine pairings. However, we probably won't go back or recommend it. Not worth the pricing and bad noise experience."

"My wife and I had scheduled for our wedding anniversary. The day of we got a confirmation call from someone verifying our reservation, but also mentioned a private party and we would be seated on the mezzanine level where it would be more romantic. Arrived and no one was at the desk and we waited about five minutes for someone to show up. They then had to go check on our table. Party was in full swing on the main floor with maybe 200 people. Loud. Ushered to the lobby to wait for 20 min. Got to the table and huge noise on the mezzanine. We declined and went to the Prima in the same hotel. Never got comp'd anything for all the trouble and disappointment. They made a big mistake by not letting us know sooner about this party."

"I have been looking forward to returning to Kevin Taylor since my last visit in January 2008 and have been telling all my foodie friends that it is a "must go" when visiting Denver. However, I was very disappointed with my dinner last Friday. Food was mostly under par and I had to send my over-cooked Antelop back, not to mention I lost my appetite after the second course. I was wondering if they changed their chef and/or kitchen staff since 2008. It was like night and day from my last experience which was "wow" after "wow" from course to course. Now I won't recommend it to any of my friends anymore and am very reluctant to return."

"We eat at Prima's a lot, so were expecting an exponentially better experience. It was frankly disappointing. Both meat entrees were over-salted. The sides were fine, but as with many Kevin Taylor places, cloyingly sweet sauces cut into the savory flavor. For the money, we will go somewhere else next time. There was really nothing memorable about it."

"The wait staff was friendly and helpful, from detailed descriptions of menu items, to helping choose a delicious wine from the price range we could afford (the $60 and under price range). Each dish seems well thought out, with beautiful presentation and a wonderful blending of flavors. We only eat here about once a year or so(difficult for 2 people to eat for under $200 if you order a bottle of wine) but always look forward to an enjoyable dining experience."

"Sublime food - all of it, every bite. Attentive but unobtrusive service provided with a smile and knowledge of the food and beverages. I would highly recommend Restaurant Kevin Taylor, especially the tasting menu. The only negative is the lackluster decor - I understand understated elegance and not wanting to detract from the food, but the decor is boring to the point of "hotel decor." It doesn't do justice to the outstanding food. :)"

"We went out to celebrate my husband's 35th birthday and were treated to an excellent experience in every way. The 4 course tasting menu paired with a half bottle of wine allowed us to indulge ourselves and sample various parts of the extensive and very tempting menu. Food was wonderful, rich and flavorful with new twists on old favorites (like foie gras with pumpkin mousseline, just the right about of sweetness to offset the earthiness of the foie gras.) Staff was gracious and attentive -- we never felt hurried -- and enjoyed a complimentary pair of petit fours when they learned what we were celebrating. Highly recommended for special occasions!"
