Located in downtown Sacramento, America's Farm to Fork Capital, Grange is a culinary expression of all things local, reflecting the authentic essence and soul of the community.
The menu showcases the market-driven bounties from the state and is best described as simple, seasonal and soulful. Organically raised meats and poultry are complemented with the freshest produce available from the Central Valley, while sustainable coastal seafood is paired with a spectacular all-California wine list. The entrees are presented in a straightforward American brasserie style. Lastly, enjoy the creations from our pastry chef such as rustic artisan breads and desserts.
This Sacramento restaurant’s setting is both classic and authentic. The two-story space combines architectural elements from the building’s rich history with exposed beams and concrete columns to create a surprising and urbane, loft-like atmosphere.
"We went to the Grange for Mother's Day Brunch, arriving at 11 am and finally got out almost 3 hours later. The waiter blamed an overloaded kitchen. Brunch items are easily prepared or can be prepared ahead (waffles, hash, omelets, quiche) there is no excuse for such long delays. Wait staff could have eased the frustration with a little more attention so one did not feel abandoned."

"Dined at Grange for Mother's Day Brunch. Wonderful prix fixe menu with choices for first and entree course, served at your table (not buffet). Dessert bar was buffet style. Endless mimosas were lovely. Everyone was pleased with their meals--chilled avocado soup, green salad for starters, crab and asparagus omelette, steak sandwich and salad nicoise for entrees. Best nicoise I've ever had--seared ahi, baby greens, soft egg and a perfectly light champagne dressing. We were seated upstairs in a booth that made it easy for all of us to converse and hear eachother. Very pleasant experience, and I'd recommend this restaurant!"

"We had a great meal at the Grange and the service was awesome. I found a rubber band in my greens and my waitress took care of it immediately. I assume the rubber band was missed when washing the greens and it really could have happened anywhere. What I admire is the way it was handled by the waitress and the manager on duty. Great job guys, I appreciate the good service!
The food was cooked perfectly and had unique flavors... I will definitely return!
Cheers - CT"

"Highly knowledgeable wait staff; seemed to know more about the food than the chef; friendly bartender with great food recommendations; staff always seemed to appear at just the right time; very professional but very easygoing; just an overall great experience; we're sorry we waited so long to dine there."

"This was our first time dining in Sacramento and finding Grange reminded me of the restaurants I left behind in the larger cities on the east coast. Grange has a cosmopolitan flair with wait staff that was knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and worked like a well oiled machine. What brought me back to reality was the food. Served in manageable portions, which you can only find in decent restaurants, it was what I would expect when thinking "Californian"; eclectic, using the best of California at its base, with something for everyone including a foodie like me who enjoys experimenting. It is a must come back to place. If you go you must try the "122" at the bar."

"The food was mediocre at best. The service was efficient and pleasant. The elegance of the setting is in sharp contrast to the quality of the meals that were served to me and my husband.
I would not recommend this place for dining because the prices are high and the quality of the food is inferior."

"Kenny, our waiter, was fantastic. Best waiter we have ever had here. Somehow, the food keeps getting better! How can that be? I had a chicken dish, and I hate chicken, but this was incredible! Husband had the rib eye---outstanding. Sides and preparations were interesting and plentiful. Dessert was fabulous tho hard to choose what to have because it all looked wonderful."

"The Grange is great for foodies like me, with excellent lunch and dinner offerings. I dine there a couple times a month and have never been disappointed. Atmosphere is upscale, lots of windows and light, upscale crowd and surroundings, but very relaxing with great food and a great bar. Service is extremely attentive. Can't wait to go back."

"The food is absolutely beyond compare SO good. My husband & I were seated upstairs, which made for a much quieter experience than the main dining floor, & that was perfect for us that night (celebrating our third wedding anniversary & wanting to be able to hold a conversation). They even gave us our own menus with "Happy Anniversary" on the top, which the head chef signed for us! The drinks were fantastic, the food was completely amazing. The only thing that wasn't perfect was the length of time between courses. It may be standard for this restaurant but for me it was a bit long. We weren't really in any hurry, but 2.5-3 hours is longer than I typically expect for even this NICE a dinner."

"Fine dining in a airy room with abundant natural light owing to the expansive glassed-in addition to the restaurant. Table service by Clint was friendly, solicitous and efficient. The food choices were all appealing with the 3-course Spring-themed prix fix especially so. Knowledgeable wine service from a well-chosen list is a plus. We'll go back soon."

"This was our fourth dinner at Grange, and I must say this is truly one of the three best restaurants in Sacramento & the surrounding area. Every bite of every dish is excellent. My husband's salmon and my chicken were both inventive, original and delicious. The tiny roasted carrots, a side dish, were slightly carmelized and very tasty. We shared the lemon meringue tart for dessert, which was also wonderful. The wine list is excellent, with choices for a variety of tastes and budgets. The atmosphere is wonderful--contemporary, but warm and inviting. The bartender makes an excellent Lemon Drop martini with the house vodka. We can't wait to go back!"

"Grange's brand rests on it's "local, fresh, organic" sourcing. And some of the food, notably the vegetable side dishes and an asparagus soup that we had, really showed that off well. The entrees were 'ok' - but nothing worth getting excited over. To be fair, there were only three of us so we certainly weren't able to sample everything but what we did order was enjoyable - but not outstanding. The veggie sides were excellent, with some creative flair in their preparation.
The wine list is extensive and stocked with most of the higher end California wines one might look for, along with a great number of lesser known labels. Wines were on the pricey side, but that's the case with most higher end restaurants these days."

"I was looking forward to a sophisticated menu with locally sourced food, but I was very disappointed with the food. I had the "Amish chicken," which wasn't my first choice but the swordfish was sold out. The dish offered a raisin puree, garlic confit, cauliflower and arugula. There was way too much going on. There was no subtlety or clarity of flavor. It tasted like the chef was confused. The baby Swiss chard salad wasn't much better. The service was professional. I wanted to like this place but can't honestly recommend it."

"For a $38 Rib Eye steak, it should not have to be sent back twice for being the right temperature. Asked for rare/med rare, came out well done twice. Unbelievable....Server was very nice an apologetic but manager did not come over to apologize. Our son's burger was burnt as well....sent back and burnt again. Didn't even bother. They should have comped something, but did not. Never going back and people should stay away. Still tipped the server $50 for bring very nice and understanding of our frustration."

"Reservation was right on time;seated promptly. The tuna tartare and mussel appetizers were excellent, as was my main course of short ribs. My husband's entree, the sturgeon, was pretty small, a more miserly portion than one expected. The timing of the service and pacing of the meal seemed very off---we were finished with the entire basket of bread before our drinks arrived. Drink refills were lacking, the server checked back, but not when we were likely to need anything. There was a long break between appetizers and entrees. It was just off."

"A bit pricey .... our breakfast for 3 (which did include an Irish Coffee, Mimosa and Bloody Mary) was $113+tip......but food was great and even though there was perhaps 6 other tables filled, it was nice and quiet so you could have good conversation at your table. Unfortunately many other new restaurants now are soooooo loud it's impossible to have a conversation with your dining friends. We had a great breakfast."

"Overall the restaurant was good. Hip, packed bar and the food was great - loved the fish and appetizers. A little loud for a business meeting though, we were only 4 people and I had to talk REALLY loud for my guests across from me to hear what I was saying. More of a local place to be seen. A bit higher on the price range end of things. 4 people and a bill over $300 and I only had 1 drink."
