Cellini’s culinary style of chic simplicity produces a menu of astounding freshness and creativity. We began with a masterful rendition of cornmeal polenta wedges with masses of slivered shitake mushrooms and a calamari salad garnished with beans and scallions, each set off with a hot, homemade foccacia, augmented with sliced crusty Tuscan bread. We next chose panzotti-supple half moon pasta filled with fresh, crisp vegetables lightly bathed in a delicate porcini mushroom sauce. A unique tubular pasta stuffed with the freshest fish and spinach under a seasoned fish stock was enough to show us that each dish here has its own personality, and is densely concentrated with flavor.
"Very difficult to get the attention of any of the many waiters. 2 wine glasses covered in persistent, greasy fingerprints. A truly bad bottle of $60 wine (not corked, just really poor), and rather huge chunks of octopus and super salty veal. Another midtown union victory over the customer."

"Excellent food from a large menu and nightly specials. Superb wine list. Small venue, lighting a bit dim, waitstaff very attentive and friendly. Highly recommended."

"In the line of old-world,classic Italian restaurants, Cellini is no better and no worse than the rest of them. The good news is that you can have a conversation as the restaurant is quiet and you'll look good because everyone else is dressed as if it were the 70s or maybe the 80s. The staff all male wants to please but is a bit testy if you ask for something out of the ordinary--and not one of them smiles. With so many many Italian restaurants in NYC, there really isn't a good reason to eat at Cellini's."

"Busy place that has a good share of neighborhood locals. This is my second visit and the food was as good as I remember. Other than the coat check lady the staff is warm friendly and efficient. Food is fresh and simple. Italian comfort food worth going back for."

"Lobster tagliatelle was superb, as was a salad with a delicate dressing. With a glass of wine and coffee after, dinner for two came in under $150--not bad for NYC."

"Standard, forgettable Italian fare. It's a decent business lunch, a noncontroversial choice if you work in the neighborhood, but nothing too exciting. Very courteous servers, ample space between tables, the space itself is pleasant and comfortable enough."

"My sister and I chose Cellini based on location and ease of getting to the subway to arrive at Madison Square Garden in time for the Westminster Dog Show. We were blown away by the fantastic service and wonderful food! Incredibly tender veal, delicious Bolognese sauce, wonderful Caesar salad - I can't say enough good things about this restaurant!"

"As usual Open Table did not fail me!! loved, loved, loved this restaurant. The eggplant parm app was light as feather and fresh the lasagna fantastic and the veal milanase a liitle too thin but excellent. It is noisy but that is just the nature of it's size. Small is just it's size, big is how delicious it is!!the prices were very fair."

"Everything we sampled from the menu was well prepared and very flavorful. The bar options are a bit limited and the house pinot noir doesn't have much body. Otherwise, this was a very enjoyable dinner."
