"The meal was good but nothing out of the ordinary. There were 6 of us and everyone got something different and all agreed that it was good but far from memorable. The pasta tasted like anything I could make at home and the sea bass was very plain. It was not a bad experience -- actually the wait staff were very nice and attentive -- just ordinary and so I would not return again."

"Always hard to find a great place near JALC. The ambience is charming, the service is very professional (got us out on time for a performance without feeling rushed), wine list more than adequate. Prices were on the high side for more frequent visits, but the food quality and presentation were worth it! Each meal was delectable, refined Italian flavors and properly cooked, fish to meat. All were delighted; two in our group had been there before and found it equally wonderful each visit."

"I came here for Mother's Day with my mom and brother. The prefixe meal was nice for Mother's Day . Our waiter didn't introduce himself and half way in the meal we got another waiter. The food was pretty good. The only thing I didn't appreciate is having to get up and asking for the check. I don't think that should ever happen at any restaurant. There should be ample time in between courses for the waiter to check if everything is alright."

"I've taken my family to Nocello numerous times for special occasions - birthdays, reunions, etc. - and this time for Mother's Day. The food is spectacular (always try the specials!) and portions are generous. Make sure to save room for dessert! They're all divine, especially the tartuffo. Five stars!"

"I am not sure how I am just discovering this gem of a restaurant. I had the most fantastic meal that I am still ranting about to friends and anxiously awaiting another opportunity to go back. I had the Fettucine with Shrimp and Lobster in Vodka Sauce which was simply amazing."

"The food was absolutely delicious. The wait staff was great, however they seemed a little too pushy at first. The wife and I wanted to relax and talk, however they initially kept asking us for our dinner order a bit too much. The only negative thing to really state, was the tight quarters. My chair was actually touching the chair of the other person behind me the entire night. Regardless of the tight quarters, I would absolutely go back. The food was incredible."

"I arrived before my husband. The maitre de did not acknowledge me at first and only sat me after she sat another party that had pushed past me. She seemed to be doing me a favor as she sat me at the nearest table (although I had a reservation) and did not offer me a menu. I was brought no water and offered no drink while I waited. I had to ask the waiter if I could order a drink when he finished taking the drink order of the women sitting next to me who had come in well after me. Typically if I am alone people go out of their way to make sure I am comfortable. At the end of the meal I asked twice for an additional coffee which never came. I wish I could say the food made up for the poor service - it was OK but not great."

"The atmosphere was nice, but food and service are disappointing. It's Americanized Italian cuisine they serve, for me as an Italian a no go. The pasta was okay, but it was swimming in sauce and oil, the prices are not fair for what you get. Everybody can create a better pasta dish at home, I swear. Nothing special at all, not tasteful. I was there with a friend and the restaurant was almost empty. We had much to talk about so we stayed after dinner, I mean, you don't always put your talk on the plate and rush out, or am I wrong? We noticed the manager advising the waiter to basically kick us out. Overall the stuff was not friendly at all. I absolutely have no idea, why this place got good reviews?!"

"When we were seated for our 6 PM reservation we told the person we had to leave by 7:30 PM in order to get to the theater. It took 20 minutes for a waiter to come and take our drink and food order. The wine arrived pretty fast, but the bowl of what they considered to be minestrone and the appetizers took another 20 minutes. Their version of minestrone, which we sent back, consisted of carrots and onions in a broth. By 7:10 PM no other food arrived, and we sought out the owner/manager. We paid for the wine and appetizer and left very unhappy with both the service and the poor quality of the food."

By the time we were half-way through our meal, the entire restaurant was packed! Service was a little slow at the end likely due to the full-house, but that did not take away from an overall great time. I highly recommend."

"This restaurant is located just a short walk from most Broadway theaters. The food is delicious, plentiful and reasonably priced. All staff had a smile on their face and were very attentive. "Our first visit was a very pleasant surprise. Food was excellent, especially "special" dishes. Service was quite good -- they got the theater diners out with time to spare (yet not rushed) and let the rest of us linger and enjoy a leisurely dinner. Definitely worth repeat visits."

"I kind of judge a restaurant for the first time by the bread they serve which is funny in and of itself. We just love NY crusty bread and 1Nocella had great bread! The was very good and we would go back for sure. My only complaint is that the tables are too close together and they sat us among several tables of woman of all ages that were having loud fun!"

"We were seated in the back of the restaurant and it was a bit cozy, but not in a bothersome way. I ordered a meal that listed specific ingredients in it so I was surprised when it came out with onions in it. I let them know that I had to pick them out and would have asked for htem to be left off the meal had I known that they were included.They took off my meal from the blll even though we said that wasn't necessary. overall they aim to please and were very attentive. I will go back on another trip to nyc."

"I eat here very frequently and it is usually excellent. However last Friday the service was horrible. We ordered at 6:15 and got appetizers at 6:30 PM. The entrees did not come out until 7:25 which left us gobbling down dinner since we had concert tickets at 8:00. I ordered pork chop and it came out very well done and dry and tough. There was no time for us to get dessert and coffee which came with the pre-theater special dinner. I asked to speak to the manager and a lady came to the table saying she could substitute for the manager. When I explained what had happened she did not offer to take anything off the check and got very defensive re the pork chop being overcooked.Others sitting at nearby tables recounted the same thing happened."

"It was necessary for me to get up from my chair , walk to the hostess, and ask for a waiter to come to our table (Front - window). I had to do this on three additional times in order to get service and finally the check. My party was there with tickets to a concert and we gave ourselves 2-1/2 hours to eat - normally more than enough for pre theater. The service was terrible and no one seemed to care or offer ANY form of apology. The food was good but I cannot recommend this place unless I was given assurance that the horrible service was a fluke!"
