Comfort is the theme at this relaxed, friendly restaurant, where the menu runs to familiar, home-style dishes with top-notch regional ingredients. "Food was great...came in for our comfort food...chicken finger platter and was not disappointed. However, service was very, very slow that day. It wasn't crowded...waiter did not refill water and sodas. However, other staff did so willingly that passed by."

"Carlyle Grill does make an effort, but with all of the unique and outstanding restaurants in Ann Arbor, I just have to say meh. The menu is quite reasonably priced for dinner and includes some nice touches like house-made salad dressings and grilled asparagus as a side. The menu is the same for lunch and dinner, so lunch selections and portions are large and a bit pricey for that time of day."

"Ordered Prime Rib - comes with baked potato or mash - but NO veggies or salad. I think they should discover vegetables! Also same tired dinner rolls that far too many in restaurants owned by this corporation serve. How about some real interesting bread like sourdough, pretzel rolls, real italian bread etc. Food is just OK - value OK - the place is convenient to Movie theater and that is its one virtue otherwise there are much better places to eat in Ann Arbor for the money."

"It was a good dinner but we did have a few issues. We went specifically for the prime rib and were disappointed in the quality of the meat. The $80 bottle of David Bruce Pinot Noir we enjoyed at the restaurant we found at a local market for $35 the same day. The food was good but the quality of the cuts of meat was not as good as we expected for the price. Service was good but I don't think we'll be going back."

"Carlyle Grill never fails to disappoint, with daily specials adding diversity to the menu stalwarts. My favorites include the meat loaf, the seafood specials, the flat iron steak, the chop house burger, and the Cuban sandwich. The mac-n-cheese is a delightful side, as is the Maytag blue cheese coleslaw. I never hesitant to take business clients here, because the service is prompt and the ambiance is outstanding. A reserved table is ALWAYS ready at the designated time, with zero waiting. The private room is fantastic for larger groups, including international guests."

"Our server was exceptional, he constantly checked on us but was not bothersome in doing so. The food was top notch and the prices were more than fair. The portions are plenty big to fill you up or for sharing. We went for a low-key date night dinner and were blown away by our satisfaction at Carlyle, we will definitely be returning again."

"Great for lunch! Very attentive service without hovering and our food was served quickly (though it wasn't important today since we were there for a leisurely visit). The shoestring fries are worth a trip just for those. YUM! Great place to meet a friend and "catch up" since it was not noisy and we felt welcome to sit and enjoy our visit."

"We were seated with no waiting upon arriving. Our server was attentive in a good way on a very busy evening (Valentine's Day). She addressed a minor mix-up with our drink order very efficiently. The food was presented nicely, prepared well, and tasted great. The prices were reasonable. This was our 3rd or 4th dinner at Carlyle's, and we will definitely go again."

"We've dined at Carlyle Grill frequently and love it. It just gets better and better. I love their crabcakes! And the pizza and salad is delicious and very reasonably priced. The teriyaki salmon was recommended by our waitress and was presented beautifully and was delicious and the pot roast also was delicious. Our wine was excellent. We'll be back soon!"

"This was a great find for me. Prices were very reasonable and the wait staff was more than accommodating. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because my girlfriend ordered a 'medium' steak and it came out well done and we had to send it back. However our waiter came back to check on us and insisted that she get another steak (she didn't want to complain or wait for another). I would recommend it for anyone looking for a good meal at a place with a nice atmosphere."

"Been here a few times. On this occasion, they definitely outdid themselves. We mentioned that we were in a tiny bit of a rush and not out for a leisurely dinner. Though it took a few minutes to get seated, the service was spot on and timely and we were out the door in time without actually feeling rushed.
We ventured out into the specials and were pleasantly surprised - the weekly special homemade style Bolognese Ravioli was exquisite and hit the spot. The Pinot wine pairing suggested was spot on. Great meal overall. I would recommend folks to try the specials - they have been great everytime. And don't skip the bread before the meal - you will regret it."
