"We had a great experience at Pearl on Saturday night. First we arrived a bit early and were delighted to see it was Happy Hour. We had a cocktail in the bar (Buffalo Trace bourbon in the Pearl Manhattan, yum!) The pork belly appetizer was outrageous and all at half price. We went in to our dinner reservation, with a slight glow. Nice table and glad the party of 14 didn't arrive while we were there. The halibut was incredible. We would definitely order it again. Morel mushrooms, peas and asparagus with perfectly cooked fish. The other entree was the sable fish/black cod. Originally, thought it was a tad spicy, though we do love spice. Turned out to be perfect (had to order a bit of bread to wipe up the last of the sauce)."

"We took advantage of the June special that offers one entree free with the purchase of another entree at a similar price point. We were not disappointed by the food or the service. Portion size is perfect, and dessert was yummy. If one is looking for huge entrees, Pearl is not the place. We prefer reasonable portions with great presentation and flavor. The June special was definitely a nice marketing tool for the summer."

"My wife and I went for dinner sunday night and it was excellent. We started with drinks and a shrimp apetiser in a garlicy sauce. They were great. Cooked just right and the sauce was out of this world. I had the lamb shank and my wife had the penne with crab. My lamb was delicious and beatifully presented. My wifes penne was very good but a bit quite rich. All in all, I have never been disappointed when dining at Pearl."

"We were so disappointed with the service we received. We like to frequent PEARL as the food and value are good, especially for
business occasions as it is close location to our office. The welcome was great, but in a not fully busy restaurant we often waited 5+ minutes for our waitress. At one point, everyone (8) at the table had completed their lunch, and eventually pushed their plates away, but still no waitress to clear, and asked if we wanted anything further. We could see her visiting with two other waitresses by the kitchen, but could not get her attention. We had pre-arranged that we had a small cake for serving as it was a birthday celebration, and yet had to re-ask for her to bring it to the birthday girl. Very disappointed!"

"My husband and I took my mom for Mother's Day. We had a nice private table with enough room for her to open her gifts which was nice. The food was excellent. I had a crab omelette, which was cooked perfectly. My mom had the crab cakes, and she really enjoyed them. The only down fall was that my mom ate a whole peppercorn which were in her potatoes. It kind of ruined the rest of her meal. But luckily that didn't happen until the end of the meal. We will definetly be returning. The dinner menu looks awesome!"

"Cons:
- Very slow service - 40 minutes between appetizers and main course. They seemed overwhelmed in the kitchen and short of servers, using hostesses to serve. Forgot to bring silverware with dessert / cheese and didn't come back to check, so we sat unable to eat even when the food did come!
- So-So food - Risotto was dry and stodgy. Probably sat under the heat lights fpor ages waiting for the other dishes to become ready.
- Very noisy - Found ourselves shouting to have a conversation. I was hoarse by the end of the evening
- Overpriced - for the low quality food and service.
Pros:
- The waiting staff were pleasant and apologetic (though they did not provide anything to ease the disappointment.)

"Three of us went for dinner and had aa excellent meal. We started with the special starter, a soft herb and garlic cheese and crostini dish that was very good but also very small. For the price it coulpd have been a bit bigger. I had a rather new entree the rack of lamb. It was absolutely delicious and very tender. It was served on a bed of cheesy rissotto which wasn't such a good combination. The flavors didn't go together in my opinion. However, I'd have to say the lamb was as good as I have ever had."

"We have eaten at Pearl many times and had a great dinng experience but this time not so much. There were several tables of really loud people, lots of loud talking, louts of really loud laughing. The waitress had to speak really loud in almost a shrill tome Ito be heard and we could barely hear each other talking. We asked to be moved once only to be moved to a side with more really loud people. I know the restaurant can't do anything about really loud people bit that seems to be what is happening more often at Pearl. We will go back again however because the food is really good and the wait staff helpful."

"The place itself is nice. The service was great. The free valet was also nice. The food however was a bit lackluster. Considering what we ordered, it was quite expensive too. Nothing tasted that amazing. Everything we ordered was pretty average. I don't think I would ever eat here again. For the amount of money we spent, we could have eaten a much better meal elsewhere."

"We requested a private curtained booth and it was granted. Staff very professional and service was excellent. A surprise free birthday dessert was provided with forks for each of us to share. We've enjoyed other special lunches at the Pearl and that is why we chose it on this occasion."

"I've been going to Pearl since they opened and I've never had a disappointing meal. The people I was with enjoyed the duck and sea scallops and really loved the beet salad. I got the chicken pappardelle and it was creamy and earthy with all the mushrooms. We went at 6PM on a Sunday so it was pretty empty, but service was top-notch."

"Overall it was a very pleasant experience. The reason I only rated the food very good is because the desert was a disappointment. It was meant to be a warmed chocolate cake, warmed and moist in the center. It was instead rather dry and crunchy on the outside. The icecream that went with it helped, but it was not at the standard I expect from Pearl. I hope it was a one-off situation, which happens."

The entire lunch took over 2 hours! We did not get our bill seperated out like requested either. I complained to the owner - I think if I was in his shoes, I would have offered a free lunch or something. That is not what I was looking for, but just an offer would have been nice. "This was our second visit to Pearl, and once again it was a great evening. My wife really enjoys the Mushroom Risotto, and my Salmon with Saffron Risotto was excellent! A great place for special occasions. Not inexpensive, but a great value because everything was done to perfection."
