In the beautiful hills of Tuscany, and in the cities and villages that dot the countryside we discovered a simple food paradise which we were eager to bring closer to home. We created VIA to offer you those culinary gems from our visits to Italy in combination with old family recipes, as well as American favorites. VIA captures the rare rustic charm of Italian cooking and dining. Italians love to eat outdoors, so we have created a beautiful three season patio at VIA so our guests can dine al fresco whenever possible. VIA is the essence of Italian dining full of charm and great aromas with our open kitchen complete with brick oven bread, baked daily, hearty meats such as tenderloin, pork and chicken slowly turning and roasting on our spit, and the joys of gelato being created right before your eyes.

"Food was excellent. Bruchetta was delicious but challenging to eat as the tomatos are whole. Braised ribs were outstanding as was the warm caesar salad. Too many fruit fly's flying around our food. Chairs were comfortable, which is a real rarity these days."

"The food was delicious. I had the shortrib and gnocchi meal and it didn't disappoint. The only issue is my husband's meal was greatly enjoyed by him, but the portion was very small. He had the surf and turf, one of the most expensive meals, and his portion was obviously smaller than the rest of ours. It was a bit noisy inside and we ended up sitting on the patio which was still closed in since it is chilly. I was fine but my friend was sitting at the end and she was chilly. I definitely enjoy sitting inside in Via or sitting outside on a nice day, but outside on a chilly night, even closed in, was not the best atmosphere."

"We had a 5:30 reservation on mother's day; arrived on time and were immediately seated. That was a great first impression. Food and service were very good. Regarding service, we had two employees tending to us; both very attentive without being annoying. A few times one would come by and ask the same question that the other had already asked, but no big deal.
Bottom line is that we will be back and will enthusiastically encourage our friends to do the same."

"We had a great seat - booth near a window. Food was delicious - 3 of us - ordered chicken piccata, shrimp scampi, and suckling pig. The pork dish was a bit cold, but it was very busy - Mother's Day. Artichoke appetizer was amazing!

"I have enjoyed Via for drinks/apps in the past. I decided to try lunch with my mom on Mother's Day, but was not impressed. House salad: Drenched in bland dressing. Bread: Good, but sourdough (so it tasted) which was unusual for Italian restaurant. Pasta Bolognese: meat sauce tasty, but pasta was very al dente, starchy, and heavy. I don't know if this was because was homemade pasta or just not cooked in enough water. I felt like I had cement in my stomach all he day and never ate dinner.
Atmosphere: unrelaxing. We sat by the open kitchen which was loud and watched hustling servers back and forth. Parking: Limited self-parking. Valet available for $3.00, not complimentary like most others in area. Bring cash, valet does not accept cards."

"Went to VIA following graduation ceremony at WPI. We found out that a few out of town relatives wanted to join us just a few hours before our reservation. Although incredibly busy that day, the staff accomodated us without question. All of our meals were delicious. Will definitely return."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Via Saturday night. Our table was ready for us upon arrival, the menu was varied and our selections were delicious! Can't wait to go back again. WE had theatre tickets for 8:00 and the restaurant was only 7 minutes from the theatre!"

"The food is always fantastic here. And the wait staff is excellent! My only complaint is the front desk. If you aren't willing to watch them closely after you check in, you will be frustrated going to Via. I always make a reservation. Last time, they checked us in but never brought us to a table. This time, after being told they were just clearing a table, they tried to seat us in the outside section. (it was a cold, raining night. No thank-you!), and then stuck us at a table next to a screaming baby 30 minutes after my reservation."

"My dinner was good, my wife's not as good. What really bothered me was paying $7.50 for wiskey on the rocks and getting mostly water. The color was wrong and I could hardly taste the wiskey. I didn' refuse it becasue I wanted the rest of the meal to go smoothly and did not want to be labeled a complainer so early in the dinner. So have your cocktails before going to Via and the order plain water."

"I am a big fan but this time VIA fell short. My risotto was cold. My steak was cooked perfectly but I didn't feel it was up to VIA quality. They need to serve a light olive oil and add some herbs to it. The straight green olive oil is bitter and is better suited for something other than dipping. This has always been a pet peeve. Putting a container of balsmic to use as well would be good. The lady waitress (for lack of a name) was great but I felt her partner Brad fell short. I'll be back but not for awhile."

This was a business dinner and we forgot to get an itemized receipt so we can get reimbursed from our corporate office. "I walked into Via and the place is very charming. I was hoping everything else would fall into place from what I saw. The menu was simple enough and the prices were on the higher scale. I am fine with that as long as the quality and quantity are sufficient. We had two servers for the evening. It was obvious they were not communicating well by the multiple interruptions at dinner asking the same questions. One of the servers went by the name of Casey. He would have been a great waiter if he dialed back the used car salesman approach. I could heard him use the same lines at each table, it may be appealing for people who like that kind of cheese factor but I was on a date, not competing in a "look at me!" contest. Food was ok, but overpriced."

"We had a great time, loved the fonduta appetizer, that was great. The only complaint was my husband was disappointed with the pork chop he said it was too salty. He always heard it was good and decided to give it a try, but said he would never order it again."

"A very nice experience. Had to wait a short time (10-15 min) beyond our reserved hour to be seated and that area was very noisy. Once at our table, however, the noise subsided to a dull roar and the service was commendable. We enjoyed ourselves very much."

"Though one of my husband and my favorite spots in Worcester, we won't go on a Saturday night again. We have had some memorable meals at Via's but this was not one of them. The place was absolutely jammed. Thankfully we had reservations, though we did have to wait for our table. The noise level at the front desk/bar area was so loud that we could not carry on a conversation with our guests. Again, thankfully, I requested a corner table far away from the bar area and Via's complied. The meals were o.k. though not outstanding. I think because of the volume Via's was doing that evening, veggies were undecooked and the Bracciole was overcooked. Waitstaff is superb. Going forward we'll stick to a weeknight."

"Dinner was delicious and the ambiance great too. Took too long to be waited on and to get Sangria. Server knew we were going to the show at the Hanover Theatre but took her sweet time to serve us. Plus was complimentary appetizer ($10 max) or dessert ($8)for each diner with a ticket to the theatre. Was difficult to know where to park as there was no attendant at or near the door. They need better signage because alot of spots were dedicated to companies in other nearby buildings."

"Our waitress Cheryl was outstanding. I described a food image I saw on the website and she knew just what I was asking about. Although it is only on the lunch menu she was able to make it happen. Also my sister in law was asking about a wine nd he offered a sample. Lastly, it was my husbands birthday and I had only mentioned it when I made the online reservation. At dessert she brought gelato and gave it to the correct man at the table. Cheryl made the entire visit to Via wonderful. When we go again I would request her as a waitress and would recommend her to others.

"Our overall experience with Via was excellent. Beginning with the reservation process through Open table which was easy and efficient with prompt confirmation and what appeared to be an easy reservation modification method. We were seated within moments of arrival despite it being a very busy evening, a very welcome start. The food was as promised, upscale comfort food at its best. The interior was quite inviting, though the sound level was very energetic, it was not off putting at all, the spirited conversation due to the enjoyment of a fine meal I'm sure. The wait staff was knowledgable, friendly and efficient. I would recommend Via to our friends with no hesitation. We will return."

"The main problem we had here was the consistent bothering of our servers. Neither my date or I did not want to drink but out three servers any time they came over asked if their was some wine or specialty drink they could offer us. We appreciate the attention but it was just to much and to be honest was really annoying. Also I had ordered a grilled Caesar salad that when arrived at my table I could not breathe for a few seconds because of the burning mess that was in front of me. I felt that this dish sacrificed quality for presentation. For desert my girlfriend had ordered to apple crisp cake which was suppose to be "drizzled" in lemon glaze. This cake was more lemon than anything else and was extremely unsatisfying."

"My husband and I very much enjoyed our dinner at Via. The waitresses were attentive and answered our questions. Via has an extensive gluten free menu and the chef did an excellent job cooking the pasta for my gluten-free dish (this is not always that easy). The only thing I would say they could add is baking a gluten free roll to bring to the table. I have found more restaurants starting to do this and it is greatly appreciated! The restaurant is loud, so it's good for big groups, but does well for a date night too. When it's warm enough, the outside patio is a wonderful place to sit."
