"I had lobster this time, it was tender and delicious. My husband is addicted to your blackened tuna sashimi, which was excellent as usual! Sides were very bland but ok. Oysters were fresh and tasty. It was Fathers Day with lots of screaming kids whose parents were oblivious, wish you had an adults only section though sometimes they're no better ;-) great meal, thanks!"

"I had lunch with my niece last Thursday, and even thought I understand that they are renovation in hte main dining room in Worcester, there was absolutely no sense of disturbance at all in the side dining room where we dined.
Our waitress was Amy Sarah Sanlay. one could not wish for more than her kind of service attentiveness and interest. Repeated, but not bothersome inquiries as to our satisfaction were timely and acted upon immediately.
In sum, it was a very pleasant occasion with no sense of rush, but a delicious meal in good company andin a pleasant spot."

"Celebrated our anniversary a few days after the date with a long drive to Worcester. We asked for a booth thru Open Table and, it was ready for us. Service was outstanding I had clam chowder -- good. My wife lobster meat cocktail - excellent. We both had poached lobster - excellent
Next month is crab fest. Can't wait!"

"Our visit happened to coincide with "lobster week".The specials were creative,excellently presented and tasty.Half our table stayed with the regular menu and were not disappointed.Given the wood flooring and "hard" surfaces,noise can be a problem.This Monday evening the restaurant was (again) full and several nearby tables were filled with exuberant graduates intent on doing harm to their vocal chords.....otherwise a most enjoyable experience."

"I've been to this restaurant several times and always loved it. This time was a completely different story. Our waitress was awful, rude, slow, unhelpful, and the list goes on. She seemed like she just didn't want to have our table, she was very testy when I asked her 2 questions, which she didn't even answer AND on top of all of that, she got my order wrong. I was so frustrated by this point that I just gave up."

"I haven't been to the Sole in several years and I was happy to have an occasion to revisit. The food was great - the wait staff oustanding - all in all perfect - except - it was so noisy it was difficult at times to carry on a conversation. Perhaps it was where we were seated - which was inside a smaller dining room - but i won't sit there again!"

"We have been to the Sole Proprietor many times, but our last visit was very disappointing. We usually sit in the back dining room but this time we where seated in the room off the bar area. We will never sit there again. There was a party of 14 next to us that were very loud and demanding. So when our server took our dinner order she apparently couldn't hear us because when she brought it out it was incorrect. Not only was our order wrong but we waited for our appetizers oyster,s chowder and fish taco's (I order a dozen fresh oysters and received 1/2 dozen and my husband ordered fish and chips for his dinner and received the fried haddock dinner) and waited again for our dinners. We know this was not the norm for The Sole Proprietor ."

"Have been here several times over the past 4 years of daughter's college years. Its always excellent food and service so we took the family and went for (most likely our final since we line in NY) ....graduation dinner. Great place for a celebration, we weren't rushed, food was tops, service was attentive and well done and everyone enjoyed themselves. Seafood dishes are fresh and well prepared. Going to miss it!"

"While the food was outstanding, we had to pack it to leave. We had a 9 pm reservation and instead of seating our party in the dining room we were shoved in the tiny room off the bar. The room had a table if 6 loud obnoxious women who were done dining but hung around to over talk each other. We assumed they were leaving...wrong. Every table hurried to get out and one party left prior to ordering. Our server apologized but never offered to move us or had the manager ask the party to respect other diners. I will not return. The restaurant is open late but should disclose to diners that you will be eating in the bar and the experience will be like being at a sporting event. I have better things to do with $200.00"

"Having a rich history in serving seafood, the Sole Proprietor, know what they are doing. Yet they don't let their menu go stale and this makes return visits worthwhile. Their new Gluten Free clam chowder is superior to many in the area, gluten or gluten free. The portions are appropriately sized (perhaps a little too big) and the service is what you expect to make the dining experience enjoyable and focused on your dinner conversation not the restaurant. The only negative comment would be towards the serving temperature of the grilled trout as it was obviously off the grill for 4-5 minutes before getting to our table, far too long for this type of fish."

"The Sole did not disappoint! Our party of four all agreed the food was outstanding. Started with oysters & a sushi roll for an app. Obviously fresh--a great start to the meal. The four entrees--Black & Blue Sword, Ora Salmon, Baked Stuffed Shrimp and Tuna Steak--were all beautifully plated and served hot. Absolutely delicious. Servers were well-trained and very good at their craft. We had a birthday girl with us, and the Sole hit a home run with a chocolate cake/vanilla ice cream combo that arrived with a lit candle and Happy Birthday written on the plate with icing. Nice touch....no embarrassing groups coming to the table, clapping & singing.

"I took out-ot-town guests here for a business lunch and it was perfect. The menu had good selection to accommodate their non-meat eating diets and service was very attentive and allowed us to keep to our schedule. When I have such occasions, the Sole is always the first place to come to mind."

"I moved to the Worcester area in 2004 for graduate school, this was one of my favorite places... still is! Amazing service, can't beat it. Food was good, but I do wish they'd offer more crab! Love sitting in the booths by the bar. May not be worth the hassle for a Saturday night, unless later - too many people some say. I disagree. The Sole is great for ANY time!"
