"I love the side garden salad with the creamy garlic dressing. My husband loves the wedge salad with Maytag blue cheese dressing. The cream corn side dish is delicious and it serves two or more. All of the side dishes serve more than one, they are made for sharing. I would recommend this place only if you did not want a filet."

"THE AMBIANCE WAS SUPERB. THE WAITER STAFF WAS VERY WELL VERSED AND PLEASANT. THE NOISE LEVEL WAS QUIET AND ROMANTIC. I VERY MUCH LIKED THE "IPAD" MENUS THAT SHOWED PHOTOS AND THOROUGH DESCRIPTIONS. NOT A CHEAP DINNER, BUT YOU DEFINITELY GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR."

"Wow!!! From the wine list to the digital menus to the presentation of the plates, the Chop House is top notch. Our dining experience was thoroughly enjoyable and everybody loved what they ordered and the manner that it was prepared . Our table for eight was in a "private" area that added to our experience and made the gathering very intimate. The desserts were an amazing way to top off a phenomenal evening."

"My husband and I travel often and on our trips we always pick one night to check out a steakhouse. I must say that The Chop House is now at the top of our list. The shrimp were huge and cooked to perfection. The filet(Oscar) was perfect and so delicious. Thomas was our waiter and he went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Perfect choice and well worth the money."

"We drive over an hour every month to two months a year to eat at the Chop House in Charleston and we love it. We took our daughter and son-in-law for his birthday last Sunday night. It was their first time. It is also the first time we have EVER had a complaint about the food. Our daughter ordered the Dover Sole, after it was presented, the waiter took it back to have the bones removed. However there were so many bones left in it that she couldn't eat it. She tried and would have to pick out 3-4 bones out of every bite she took. Our waiter was fantastic and took the meal off of our bill. Other than that we have never had any problems, I love the crab cakes and my husband loves his 11oz filet Oscar! We will continue to eat there.

"i-pad menues. great idea and can be quickly changed i suppose. however, i ordered tiramisu and the waiter came back to the table to tell me they were out. (go to the computer and take it off the menu for the evening-maybe its not that simple to so and it really wasn't a big deal for us) ordered the lobster bisque. couldn't find a piece of lobster if you strained it through a sieve. filet was just ok. nothing to write home about as was the salad. service and ambiance was very good. valet parking was nice to have as well. first time to eat here. probably would give it one more shot and try the sea food. one time is not really a fair judgement but this is what we experienced on our first trip."

"Had another good experience from a service standpoint, but had a bad steak and that is why I always go there. My Cowboy was very tough. The manager addressed it and brought me another one which was tough also. She did take the steak off the bill. The server informed me that they had just gotten those steaks in that day. They seemed like a lower grade of meat and without aging. I'll try one more time."

"Went there for an early valentines day dinner and everything was well prepared. Service outstanding. The only thing I would change is to put just a little seasoning on the steaks. I NEVER use a salt shaker and I actually had to put salt on my steak. Other than that everything was wonderful."

"We took a client to dinner and the food was what we expected for an upscale steakhouse. Our server was courteous, but appeared slightly frantic and we had to keep flagging her down. The menus were unique as they were electronic tablets. Overall, it wasn't a dazzling experience, but when in downtown Charleston, WV, it is the best around. The food was fantastic and seemed to be the saving grace at this steakhouse."
