Recently remodeled, one will be impressed by The Villa's elegant and stylish interior, grand fireplaces, comfortable furnishings, charming patio, gourmet cuisine and excellent service. The intimate garden patio is billed by Here Comes The Guide as the 'favorite spot for outdoor celebrations'.
"I have been to the Villa in the past and it has been fine. My family took me there for Mothers Day dinner, and it was not a great experience. We dined outside and it was beautiful, but our waiter seemed bothered by any of our requests or questions. The biggest problem was their online menu has so many choices but when we arrived, there was a VERY LIMITED pre-selected menu available for Mothers Day. The choices were not the best from their usual menu. We settled for dishes we didn't necessarily even want, which added up to a huge bill (this place isn't cheap). Beautiful outdoor seating, but food wasn't worth the money."

"It is rare that I write this about any restaurant but the food was bland, the service was below average, it was expensive and we were overall disappointed and will not go back."

"The ahi app was a nice size serving & close to being a real winner, but needed some seasoning...some heat, capers, cracked pepper, shallots, parsley, etc...I took some home & added seasoning & it was delish! Brussel Sprouts were fantastic! Wine prices were very high for the SFV, more like West Side prices!"

"Found The Villa through friends' recommendation, and this was our second time there. It was equally impressive this time: good food and service, and nice atmosphere."

"We recently rediscovered this wonderful restaurant in Woodland Hills. The crowd at the bar as well as the staff are very friendly; the interior upscale and comfortable, and if you prefer to dine al fresco, the Villa has one of the most romantic patios in Los Angeles.
As for the food, Chef Robert Lia has totally revamped the menu and frequently comes out of the kitchen to chat with diners, answer questions and make sure guests are completely satisfied. Choose the calamari or the charcuterie plate to start and you’ll begin to see the new level of sophistication Robert’s brought to the restaurant. Then go on to try the Branzino, Osso Buco or Duck. You can’t miss!"

"5 of us went for Saturday brunch to celebrate a birthday. Since the patio is first come first served, we arrived when they opened at 11:30 AM and had the pick of tables. The patio is serene, brightly colored, and has comfortable tables and banquets. Each of us ordered an entre and we all shared so that we could get a sampling of different items. The food was OUTSTANDING. Hard to say which we loved the most...the "Mix it Up", "Where's the Bagel", "Wendy's Waffles", "Crab Cake Benedict", or "The Wedge". All were really beautifully presented and delicious. For dessert we all shared the Molten Lava Cake. YUMMY! Server was attentive and very sweet. Can't wait to try the dinner menu."

"Nothing really negative, but I was expecting more from a $60/pp dinner. The food is better then a chain, but not quite up to the standard of a high end restaurant, which the price would suggest it should be. Decor is a bit outdated. We were escorted to our nice corner table inside, as we were leaving, we peaked through a door to find a beautiful outdoors seating, which was never offered or even mentioned. We might have had a better experience on that nice weather evening sitting outdoors. Hostess knew it was our first time there, didn't bother to show us the outside seating. Restaurant was half full on a Saturday night, which might indicate something. I will not go back, if the price was $20-$30/pp, it might be a good neighborhood gem."

"Had a really great meal with friends here. We started by sharing appetizers which were all of a good size to share. I like to large selection of appetizers and the fact that the pasta dishes could also be ordered in an appetizers size. All of our main courses were so good that we ended up sharing those as well. The fish dishes were fresh and well prepared. The wine list is somewhat limited but the selections were good. Our server was very friendly, attentive and extremely patient with our girl talk keeping us from ordering. We never felt rushed. The restaurant is well decorated but not stuffy. Elegant but casual. I would recommend this restaurant for anything from a girls night out, to a romantic dinner, to a group gathering"

"Food was excellent. Service was okay. We were automatically charged 18% gratuity (on the tax as well !) for a party of six, with no indication of this on the menu. Not appropriate, and the service was not worthy of more than 15%. This was the only drawback though. Nice place overall."

"We go to Woodland Hills every year to get our taxes done and need a place for dinner. Even with all the choices on Ventura Blvd., The Villa is our favorite go-to spot for this once-a-year event. My partner had the day's special, pan seared scallops over couscous and purple Brussel sprouts and he declared it “excellent!” I had the Prosciutto and arugula flatbread, a great combo and the crust was “perfect!” They brewed us a fresh pot of decaf coffee ….not something one usually brags about, but it was really good!"

"We were very excitied about going to The Villa, since we were hoping to discover a local restaurant we could frequent. Unfortunately, the food was not up to $200 we paid for 3 people. The Insalada Misto and my wife's sea bass was absolutely tasteless, the tortellini with ragu had a good flavor but the noodles were way overcooked and the risotto was horrible and undercooked, crunching as we ate. The Oso Bucco was very good, but the risotto spoiled it. The apple tart with ice cream was the best dish of the evening. Restaurant is very large and somewhat old-fashioned in the wooden-lodge motif and the parking was very convenient. Staff was friendly but not very attentive."

"The Villa, which used to be known as Villa Piacere, is a charming French/Italian spot in a curious location: just off the 101 freeway within about 70 yards or so the exit for Topanga Canyon Boulevard South and Ventura Boulevard, which is to say, very close to the intersection of Ventura and Shoup, on the south side of Ventura. The atmosphere is delightful, the staff are very friendly, and the menu is fairly varied and delicious. (One omission: there is no chicken entree, so if you want a white meat and don't eat veal or duck, you're out of luck.) Pricing is about what you'd expect: a meal for two with wine and dessert, plus tax and tip, will be about $100 or so. The wine list is very expansive. A great gem in the Valley."

"We had stopped going to this restaurant when it was Villa Piacere because it was always crowded, noisy, and the menu didn't change much. I went back with a friend for lunch recently and thought it was worth going again on a Saturday night. It was well worth going. The food was wonderful. My husband and I split the flatbread (pizza) with figs, goat cheese, carmelized onions and arrugula for an appetizer and he had the duck and I had the crab cake for my entre. He thought the duck was the best he's had and my crabcake was wonderful. The chef seems to be doing very innovative and interesting offerings, the type we expect to get up in wine country and not many restaurants are doing here in the valley. Keep up the good work!"

"My and my wife went for Valentine's Day, with our expectations being very low considering that is the worst night to expect great food and service.
We were positively impressed, the food was great (they cooked my steak rare, which is kind of rare restaurants get it right nowadays [pun intended]) and the service quite prompt and very cordial.
A very nice surprise."

"Food was good but not amazing. ribeye served to my husband for a 60USD prefixed menu with salad and desert was like a burger meat. I am not a red meat fan but that cut wasn't worth even 20USD in a restaurant. My fish was very good and I would come here again just for that and the wine selection is great as well."

"- no parking nearby. Had to park over a block away - arrived at 7 PM for a 7 PM resv and had to wait until 7:15 to be seated - Table had collapsable expansion leaves on the side that kept dropping in my lap and my wifes's lap - ordered the braised short ribs and was very disappointed in that it appeared and tasted to be nothing more that a chunk of stew meat - as the evening wore on and they got busier, service slowed down considerably - when they brought the bill they had charged me for an item that was supposed to be included as part the dinner which further delayed our departure"

"Felt like we were eating yesterday's leftovers. Not sure when the steak on my salad had been grilled but it wasn't when I ordered it. The waffle was cold. There was absolutely no care taken in the preparation of the meal. Will never go back."

"The food was ok, not great, but certainly adequate, and the space was very nice, romantic if you are looking for that. The waitress was very nice and tried hard but could not pronounce one of the drinks on the cocktail menu (Rive Gauche) or the dessert special. I can cut a little slack for not knowing the pronunciation of a special (but beignet, is that really a tough one???) but to not know how to pronounce an item on a menu, that I can't understand! So, while I appreciated her vivaciousness, her food knowledge and actual ability to be an effective server were limited."

"This restaurant is so lovely! We enjoyed our martinis in the very pretty bar area prior to dinner. We had a nice window table across from the fireplace and enjoyed our steak frites and osso bucco dinners after sharing the caprese salad. The service was impeccable and our meals were delicious! A reasonably priced gem...we'll be back!"
