Enjoy fine Portuguese cuisine at Portuscalle. The menu is a true representation of Iberian country. On the other side of the dividing wall, guests can sit at the bar lounge to have a cocktail and tasty petiscos–Portuguese appetizers that are lighter than their Spanish counterparts thanks to natural ingredients like olive oil, vinegar, lemon juice, coriander and parsley.
"A favorite for many years but NOT a good experience this time.TERRIBLE service had too cancel two tapas as it it was taking too long between services.Too bad as it has been a favourite since first opening.Hope this will change and is not as a result of their opening a second restaurant to the detriment of the original."

"Impeccable service. Always ready with suggestions. The pace of the food was timed just right. The food was exquisite, delicious and so flavourful. Can't wait to try one of the "special nights" coming up for the summer"

"Excellent food! Note on service is not for their lack of trying: staff was very friendly, accommodating, and provided us with nice extras when our table was late. But it seems like they were overwhelmed on a very busy night: it took very long just to get water, and we had to get up a few times to get our wine bottles to fill up glasses because staff was too busy elsewhere. We would not have minded having the bottles on our table, but they did put them on a service table nearby, so having to stand up to get more wine was kind of awkward... ...still, overall a very nice experience, and highly recommended!"

"One of the absolute best Portuguese restaurants in Montreal. The food was very fresh and tasty, it certainly takes you on a trip to Portugal. The only disappointment was that it took over 1 hour to receive our main courses after the tapas courses. The waiter never followed up with us to ensure us that the food was coming or of any status. The hostesses were very nice and accommodating."

"I've been to the resto a years ago and it was excellent;this time i decided to go for Valentine's...Big Mistake!! I reserved via Open Table 3 wks prior, i received a call saying there will only be 2 services 6:30 or 9:00pm. Excited to take my hubby whose never been, we get there and it's a SET MENU.. the resto called me for a time change and NEVER mentioned it was a set menu! The food that night was not "set menu" friendly. Choice btwn entrees: A scallop or Deer Tartare... not very uniformly liked; mains: sole or lamb. Service was also poor; we poured our own wine nearly all night; mains were tardy.. Seeing that i have been there in the past, then the food was great, i wouldn't recommend going for a holiday unless you like set menus."

"Food is excellent, very fresh and well executed. Good place to discover Portuguese food. Service is professional and friendly. Wine list is almost exclusively from Portugal but don't hesitate to ask the somelier for a suggestion if you don't know the wines. Our experience was positive. Best grilled octopus in town !!!"
