DeStefano’s was established as a tribute to the DeStefano family and all those families that made the borough of Brooklyn and the Williamsburg community a great place to live. Our goal is to pay homage to the simple values of faith, family, and friends that are evidenced by the strong sense of unity in the Williamsburg community. "We've eaten here twice and had great experiences both times. The dining room is small but tables are not crowded together so it feels larger than it is. Food is great, the petit filet (ordered rare) pretty much melts in your mouth. If available, as a side I highly recommend the brussel sprouts.
The service is excellent. The staff is friendly and attentive without being overbearing."

"My fiance keep going back to DeStefano's - for both great food & great service! This visit we shared: caesar salad, thick-cut bacon, porterhouse for two, & side of carrots. "This was our 1st time at this restaurant and I must say if I lived any where near NY it would be a place that I would go to on a regular basis. We loved it from the time that we walked in the door. We were greeted by a very lovely young lady that seated us promptly, ask if she could get us a beverage while we looked over the menu. The menu is perfect and the food is so so good. During our meal the owner came over and ask us how everything was for us and ask us where we were from. It is so quaint inside. I really loved DeStefano's."

"My wife and I had a great dinner. John, our waiter was attentive and accommodating without crossing the line into being overbearing. The wine list is small but thoughtfully prepared and fairly priced. Everything was perfectly prepared. Lots of fun family photos and Brooklyn memorabilia on the wall."

"Another GREAT meal at DeStefano's. Perfectly cooked porterhouse for 2, a rib eye, garlic mashed potatoes, broccoli rabe & peas, crab cakes and shrimp cocktails, bottle of red, espresso and smooth, italian ricotta cheesecake. Really, really good food, polite and friendly service, and a quaint, old-fashioned, neighborhood place. This is definitely the kind of place you'll keep coming back to. I look forward to that. Maybe next time I'll try something other than the steak, but this place makes that hard to do!"

"We had a wonderful lunch in honor of my daughter's birthday. The staff and the owner are so welcoming. The room is very inviting and cozy - really feels like you're in your own home! Although we waited a little longer than usual, the atmosphere was relaxing and pleasant. Our waiter was very attentive and efficient. The dinner menu is much more satisfying, with a lot of great choices, but I think that lunch will ultimately be a success (they just launched the new menu). All in all it was a very enjoyable afternoon. I look forward to going back soon."

"Overall the experience was wonderful. The service was attentive, not pushy and we were given plenty of time to sit and enjoy our meal. The food was delicious. The 12 oz. Filet Mignon was perfectly sized, soft, juicy, and flavored just enough so that the natural flavors of the meat shone through. The garlic mashed potatoes were buttery and smooth and the spinach wasn't too oily. The sides were a nice complement to the steaks. It was a great dining experience and I look forward to going back."

"My Golf buddies decided to get together, since it's been a cold winter and we typically only see each other on the links.
I'd been here before with my girlfriend. so this was my second trip to DeStefano's. Food and service are very good. NY Strip Steak was very tender, with lots of flavor. The cream corn was outstanding!
The owner stopped by the table to make sure we were comfortable...we were. Nice people and a great Open Table find!

"If you are going to charge NYC Steakhouse prices for a steak, it better be good and their's was. But the total experience left a bit to be desired given the high prices. A martini ordered very dry was anything but and at $14, it should have been bigger than a four ounce glass. The bread was mearly okay and only one variety; fine for a neighborhood Italian with eighteen dollar entrees but totally disappointing for a place that charges $45 for a steak with sides extra. When you've been doing business for 120 years like Peter Luger, you can get away with no tablecloths and upscale diner ambiance but it doesn't make you feel you're getting your money's woth when you are spending $125 a head."

Destefano's: Good alterative to Luger's if anyone in your party doesn't love steak (more selection +no offense if you order something other than meat).
We wanted to order Porterhouse, but since they had run out of it (!), our group of 3 agreed to share RibEye steak, Lamb chops, and Lobster ravioli -- generous portions, all delicious -- especially the chops.
Service: exceptional (nonintrusive but there when you need them). We were seated by grandson(?) of original DeStefano who took great pride in the establishment pointing out family portaits on the wall."

"I recently celebrated my boyfriends birthday here, and we had a wonderful time. I had made some requests in advance through OpenTable regarding champagne and a special dessert, and all were executed properly. The service team is so friendly, and they let you enjoy yourself without the feeling of being rushed. Our dinners there never dissappoint, and I love the consistency. The filet mignon is unlike any that I've ever had! The family style sides and cozy atmosphere make you feel right at home."

"A very quiet adorable restaurant with very nice presentation of food, great service and very delicious steaks. The brussel sprouts with pancetta as well as the outstanding baked potato complimented a great meal.. The wines were very reasonable as well. All in all, not a famous place like Peter Luger's where you can't get in. And personally, it didn't wow me, Peter Luger's that is, But the filet mignon and the 24 oz ribeye were able to be cut with a butter knife... Not a drop of anything other than delciousness."

"When you don't need a steakknife to cut a steak - it's cooked right. We booked at DeStefano's pretty late in the game after craving a steak all day, and although they were fully available the place was packed when we got there. Great, bizarre, heady atmosphere. About as close as you can get to the 'real' Brooklyn these days (i.e. as an englishman I almost needed a translator). The place is filled with gesticulating italians, screaming children, coffee, and steak. Good stuff."
