Boulevard Bistro is a quaint upscale fine dining restaurant located in a 1908 bungalow style home.
Best known for our Regional American Cuisine and direct focus on Californias Foothill Wines with a list of over 50 selections. We embrace locally grown produce; fresh vegetables grown in the central valley, locally raised meat, and seafood from the cold waters of the coast of Northern California.
Bret Bohlmann, chef and owner, is a 1998 graduate of the California Culinary Academy. After several years of experience in the Bay area Bret has returned home to Elk Grove to open one of Elk Grove's finest restaurants.

"We went to the Bistro to have an early Mother's Day celebration since my wife had to work on the actual holiday. I booked the table two weeks in advance and we were seated right away upon arriving. The restaurant is very 'cozy', it is basically an older Victorian style house and has been retrofitted into a modern Bistro. I see why you need reservations since there is such limited seating.
The service was excellent, although the food wasn't as special as I had hoped. Both the salmon and pork cheek were a little lacking in flavor. Thankfully, the sides they came with were very good. Would definitely recommend for an intimate setting and an escape from the plethora of cookie cutter establishments."

"The food was wonderful. Pork cheeks are so tender- no knife needed. Steak poivre was cooked perfectly, the sauce was to die for. Had the avocado salad which was a small portion but the dressing was so flavorful. A touch of cumin for a bit of smokiness but not too much. Apple crisp for dessert was a nice size to share. The apples were cooked through not crunchy as so often happens when under baking. Would like to see an option on the menu for vegetarians. Will absolutely be back when visiting the area next time."

"Based on the five star review ( Half a star better than bebas) I traveled 65 miles to exoerince what turned out to be a mediocre resteraunt. The menu is limited, the filet was second rate and the vegtables unimaginative. About all that is remaining is that the price was relatively low."

"Easily the best place in South Sac & Elk Grove, and maybe even Sac entirely! As always, the food was spectacular; fresh ingredients, good sized portions, cooked to perfection, and the blend of ingredients/sauces was oh-so-good. We had the salmon and halibut (so good!), and started with a beet salad and cheese course. Both were excellent (cheese was really good; triple cream brie was the stand-out!). Apple crisp for dessert; definitely could/should be a breakfast item (wishful). And the homemade bread! One of the best you will EVER have. Don't spoil your appetite...spoil it! It's that good! Prices are right, and service is top notch. Everyone gets treated like they are the most important customer they have, as it should be."

"Our dining experience at Boulevard Bistro was extraordinary.The restaurant is small and cozy without feeling crowded. Our server, Michael, was very attentive and had an entertaining personality.I had an asparagus salad with a soft boiled egg, crispy ham, croutons with a balsamic vinaigrette. My entree was pan roasted salmon with pea ravioli, baby peas, cherry tomatoes and kale. My co-worked had a beet salad and halibut. Everything was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. My only regret is I do not live in the area to visit more often. I will be sure to dine here again when my travels bring me back to the Sacramento area!"

"I always like to eat at Boulevard Bistro. The food is outstanding, the presentation is good, the atmosphere is pleasant. Plus the restaurant always attempts to accommodateyou when you have changes. This is my favorite restaurant. I love their menu. Everyonethat I have ever taken there for dinner,"falls in love with it also". I left the "Noise" factor blank, because on the last occasion it was a little noisy because of the large party across from us, it was about eight of them and they were laughing loudly, mostly "guys" but they were having a good time it reallty wasn't distracting. Besides the restaurant doesn't have control of their guests, unless they are "out of line",. and this group wasn't, they were just having fun."

"It was our first time to Boulevard Bistro. It was a little far for us to go; however, it was our anniversary, and it had been highly recommended by a friend. It did not disappoint. The service was excellent, and so was the food. We shared the mushroom risotto appetizer, which was very tasty. My husband had the braised oxtail, and I had the rack of lamb. Both were excellent, and we traded entrees as we often do. For dessert we shared the raspberry crisp, which was also very good. It was an excellent dinner, and I'd highly recommend it as a fine dining destination; you may go there dressed casually, too."

"We had a very nice dinner with great food. We were hoping for sweet breads but the mussels were great. The lamb was cooked perfectly as was the swordfish appetizer. We brought our own wine and the corkage fee was very reasonable."

"It is a quaint bistro in the heart of old town Elk Grove. A refurbished home, which gives a very nice atmosphere. With the way the menu changes daily, weekly, you never know what you will find on the menu for the night. There is always something great to choose from. The chef and staff are very accomodating to give you the best possible dining experience.
Due to its size, reserve EARLY in advance. You won't be dissappointed!!"

"Thanks to the incredible food and good company of the Blvd. Bistro staff my husband and I can wine and dine without our four children in a relaxing ambiance. The restaurant is dimly lit and very romantic. We were given the opportunity to sit side by side instead of across from each other which allows for some cozy conversations.
I have never enjoyed raw fish or red meat, however Chef Bret has opened my eyes and heart to the flavorful tasting of his exquisite cooking. While I still stray from these entrees and appetizers at other restaurants, I find myself pleasantly surprised EVERY TIME he indulges me.
The service is patient, knowledgeable, professional, and friendly."

"This was our first visit to Boulevard Bistro but it won't be our last. The food was delicious and excellently prepared. The service was top notch and our server was very attentive. "We had the mussel appetizer, which was a generous portion. The broth was good but seemed to lack a little seasoning. I had the spring green salad with butternut squash which was so good it could almost be served as main course. My husband had the wedge salad which was also excellent, with lots of tasty bleu cheese. I had the salmon with house made paparadelle on the waiter's recommendation, and the sauce and mushrooms were excellent. I wanted more of those paparadelle! By the time I gave my husband bites, I had like two long noodles left. Cutting them into shorter lengths might help. My husband had the duck and waffle, and the duck was very tasty. The blueberry cobbler for dessert came piping hot and the crust was fabulous."
