"When we arrived we were shown right to a table. They initially were going to sit us at a booth however I asked to sit near the window and they immediately complied. The waiter was very attentive and all of the staff was very friendly. The food was outstanding! They give you delicious onion rings and salsa for the free appetizer; definitely beats chips or bread any day of the week! The only con of the evening was the staff member refilling our water glasses. They have a little gimmick where they pour the water into the glass from high up. While I appreciate the theatrics there was a bit of splash back from pouring that high into a small glass. If I was wearing nicer clothes I might have been annoyed that the water was getting on me."

"We celebrated my dad's 80th birthday. I requested a table with a view for 8. The table was ready when we arrived. Everyone was pleased with their meals, even those that ordered fish. My wife and I had the ribeye medium rare and it was done perfectly. The service was excellent."

"McLintocks Saloon had been recommended to me by several people. The food was very good. It is a little pricey but you get a lot of food. I had the filet mignon with shrimp scampy and asparagus. Very good. My husband had the pork chops. He loved them also. They onion rings were great. If you aren't that hungry or are a small eater you can probably share something. I will definitely go back. We were celebrating our 5 Year Wedding anniversary."

"We were highly anticipating this great venue, but were truly disappointed. While our waitress was darling, the food was far from "extraordinary" which at roughly $40 per person, one would anticipate excellent food. My Baby Back BBQ ribs were so-so, which hadn't it been for the BBQ sauce, would have been bland. My son's New York Steak was almost rare and he had ordered well done. My husband's rib eye was well done and he had ordered medium rare. Not a matter of switching steaks since two different cuts. The waitress took them back, had my son's cooked some more, and ordered a new cut for my husband. Normally in this situation, a meal is comped as the rest of the family is almost done eating by the time the corrected meals are brought.No comp"

"We were there as part of a trip to Solvang with an out-of-town friend. It was the perfect end to a lovely day. It wasn't our first trip to McLintock's, but it was hers, and she loved it. We were also celebrating our anniversary, so that made it even better. We live in LA, so it's not some place we can go to regularly, but when we're in the neighborhood, it's our first choice for dinner."

"After submitting a reservation through opentable they did not have us down on the list when we got there five hours later. However, they were still able to get us in very quick and gave us a window seat. I would recommend splitting a dinner. The proportions were huge and very good. Kids loved it and had the owner come visit us for a little while. Very cool place and very fun!"

"Very friendly unique casual restaurant which is famous for its steaks. Wait staff are very efficient. Unfortunately, my husband' s New York steak was grisly and tough. We complained and the management were very gracious about it and took it off the bill. They offered to bring another steak but we didn't have time to wait. My sea bass was also poor. It had been cooked in oil not hot enough and had a thick crust which was tough and indelible. This restaurant wins favorable reviews all the time and constantly has lines of people waiting outside to get in. Although, the staff are great, the food is just not for us."

"I've been going to McLintocks for many years -- the last two times I was there I was disappointed with the food. The most discouraging part is that everything that comes with your meal is a starch -- nothing green. The dinners used to come with salad but they eliminated that and now serve their steaks with rice pilaf, potatoes, and beans. They could easily eliminate one of those and bring back the salad. The steak was fine although nothing special for the prices."

"There are not enough characters to write a full review that details the experience we endured at our last visit to this place.
We made a reservation via OpenTable more than 2days before we were to arrive.
We were promptly shuffled to what is likely one of the worst locations you can get in a restaurant like this: right next to the kitchen entrance (mind you, there were several other tables open). The flooring of the structure is wooden, and every single time a server walked in or out, the floor shook our table and seats uncomfortably. The noise level was obscene. We had to speak uncomfortably loud to hear each other, and *several* times had to stop completely due to their staff singing "happy birthday" to patrons. Will never go back."
