Unheardof Restaurant
Unheardof has been serving quietly elegant and eclectic cuisine to Edmontonians for 30 years. Our menu, which changes regularly, is increasingly local, regional and seasonal - a balance between the familiar and the innovative. We do our best to accommodate most dietary needs - celiac, vegetarian, and heart healthy.
We are celebrating our 30th anniversary all year long, partnering with the Edmonton Food bank with our dollar a diner program and giving everyone who orders our regularly priced prix fixe menu a 30 in 30 certificate ($30 off a regularly priced entree within 30 days).
Order a la carte or prix fixe (tapas, any starter, sorbet, any entree, any dessert) at $70 per guest. Arrive by 6pm (and if your table is available for rebooking by 7:30 pm, that price becomes an amazing $55)

"We have celebrated our anniversary at this restaurant for the last 15 years. This year our grown kids joined us for an amazing meal and fun evening to celebrate 25 years!. Everything was delicious! Normally service is fabulous, and for the most part was again. The only issue on this occasion was a bit of a slow start. I believe this had more to do with another group arriving early, so it will not stop us from returning."

"Possibly because it was a slow night, but overall a dissapointing experience. A great seafood bisque appetizer gave way to a bland (under seasoned) beef tenderloin, and a satisfactory lime crepe. Maybe we were expecting too much based on reputation, but overall, the whole experience was lacking."

"The ironic thing about the Unheardof Restaurant is that I have always heard great things about it. So when I took my wife there for the first time, it truly lived up to the hype. The early dining deal they have makes it worth it to go before 6pm. Everything from the starters, to the entrée to the dessert was tasty and delectable. It was complimented by courteous and attentive service in a friendly, relaxed, and cosy atmosphere."

"We really enjoy the unheard of restaurant, the food is always amazing as is the service. The last time we were there we had six people in our party, everyone had a different dish, there was no disappointments right from the appies to the desert. We'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing incredible meal. The restaurant is an old house that reminds you of your Grandmas, it is relaxing, you can have a conversation without a lot of noise."

"It had been many years since I've personally been to the Unheard Of, but I remembered we had celebrated an anniversary and had enjoyed our experience. On March 30th, we were celebrating my daughter, Hanna's 21st birthday and I was inspired to mark the special day at your restaurant. My family liked the eclectic, but warm atmosphere. They also appreciated the slower pace of the meal. For the most part, we enjoyed our chosen offerings, with small exceptions. My daughter, Sara, ordered the vegetarian meal for her main. She found the tofu element of the dish very small. I ordered the tenderloin and while the beef was cooked perfectly, it was quite bland. All desserts were tasty. My girls loved the extensive choice of teas."

"One of my all time favorite places to go! Only been there twice but you can see how much work and care goes into their business, the food is absolutely delish! And the service is awesome, no asking how it is going every time your mouth is full either, great wine and drink selection and the ambiance is so comforting and warm, the staff sure know how to make you smile and always seem happy, there is no long wait for your food, everything comes out ever so timely, I love it!! Can't wait to go back again soon :)"

"Very good experience. First of all the food was maybe the best I've had in Edmonton. I started with the seafood bisque, devoured the five spice duck, then ended the meal with the amaranth crepes. My mouth is still watering for the five spice duck, superb! Overall it was a great night with great food and warm cozy space!"

"Not a great experience...
Food was hit-and-miss. Two of the three appies on the mushroom trio were good, as was the corn chowder. The Vegetarian main course (my date and I are both vegetarian) was uninspired, poorly cooked, and overpriced, although the saffron infused beans were quite tasty. Service was a bit spotty and the waiter hovered a bit much for my taste. Overall, rather disappointing. I won't be back."

"A great dinner with great service.
As a group of four, we did the table d'hote menu and we're very satisfied. Good quality food, well presented. When the first round of coffee was found to be lukewarm, it was quickly taken away and fresh coffee brewed."

"The menu wasn't very large but neither is the restaurant. It has a great atmosphere and I would say caters a bit more towards an over 30 age group. The food was delicious, portions were slightly smaller than the average franchise restaurant but definitely adequate enough so you were not leaving hungry. The staff were great and the restaurant was well kept."

"A very enjoyable Dinner. We went here for Valentines day. The seafood bisque was excellent. My spouse had the hosin maple duck breast and it was excellent. I like beef and am tempted to order this next time. I had the beef tenderloin with alaska king crab (didn't get very much for crab so was a bit dissappointed with serving size - this is minor). For dessert the sour cherry parfait was so good I was temped to order another. My spouse had Chocolate amaretto pie (delicious). Overall an excellent evening. Service was very fast and I thought we could have got out earlier than we did. It was a bit noisy as there was a group beside us but it didn't bother."

"We did not enjoy Unheardof and feel that for the entire package (food, service, ambiance, and noise) they are very over priced.The front of house staff was poorly trained but the food is quite good. The decor is quirky and interesting but the ambiance is that of a library."

I've have never been disapointed and this most recent experience was fantastic. The seafood bisque is to die for, and the Bison is always prepared well, just the way I like it.
