"I visited a few years ago and had to the tasting menu and it was incredible. This time, it was comparitively hit or miss, but what was good was really, really, really good. The sommelier was awesome and the wine list was great. I'd still highly recommend it, and it's still my favorite restaurant in Vail by a long shot."

"We were very much looking forward to a lovely experience, having been highly recommended by our friends who had visited in Feb.This was totally ruined however by an extremely rude and grumpy waiter.The food was fairly average, though the wine list was extensive and good.With a large party of 11, the cost of the evening was substantial but we felt it was a total waste of money and resented paying the service charge.We would definitely not return nor recommend Larkspur."

"We have loved Larkspur for years, but there is not as much menu variety as there has been in the past. The atmosphere is a wonderful as always. There is a great Après Ski environment. And the bar menu is simple and lovely, but I would like to see more specials and at least one green salad apart from the Caesar."

"The cocktails were very good. The food was not. The lamb duo dish was improperly prepared and the plate seemed totally unconnected. The braised panchetta stuffed in the cannelloni was dry and not flavorful, and the cannelloni should have been coated with something (either sauce, or oil, or butter) because it was burned. The lamb chops were not seared properly and were topped with uncooked panko bread crumbs. I couldn't tell in the gnocchi dish whether the goal for the duck confit was to be crispy or buttery soft, or a combination of the two it ended up in the middle just being hard all the way through. I'm sure that was not the intention. I was surprised at how some of the food was just improperly prepared. For the price it was awful"

"Larkspur is perfect for large parties. This beautiful spacious restaurants serves excellent food matched to an eclectic wine list. Lunch is a special treat since it is so close to the Golden Peak Lift area and Apres ski is enjoyable for the same proximity to the slopes as well as the delicious oysters. Dinner is always fun with the energetic dining room, delicious food and a knowledgeable wine staff."

"Larkspur has now taken my number 1 spot for dining in Vail. My group and I were treated with great attention (but not overdone)- great wait staff and sommelier. Some delicious cocktails at the bar to start - recommend their house-infused vodka with tea/lemonade. Had some delicious starters followed by a wonderful dinner - recommend the lamb and the prawns...as well as the cheese platter which was a delightful way to end the meal. Since we also "needed" some chocolate, we decided to share the neopolitan which was very nice...with a little crisp in between for texture."

"If fine dining each night of the week in Vail is your thing (and it's ours), this is one spot worth a visit. The food really is very good, and benefits from service to match. However, there's something about the setting. Perhaps it's the large, expansive room, or its juxtaposition to the pub/bar, that I have a quibble with."

"We have eaten at Larkspur many times during our years at Vail. The quality of service was such that we may not return. Our bottle of wine took 10 minutes to arrive even though there were only half dozen tables occupied when we arrived. Because of the delay, we specifically asked the waitress to hold our appetizers until we complted our first glass of wine; they arrived within 30 seconds of the wine. Both appetizers improved with ground pepper; none was offered even though it was stored directly behind our table. Same lack of attention when the main course arrived. This lack of attention to detail signifies poor restaurant management, more than a single weak server."

"Larkspur is a bit off the beaten path in Vail Village, but not a long walk in general. I had read that it was a hidden gem, but this was a very busy place. Great food, great wine, and view backing up against the mountain was very nice as well. "VERY good half price bottle of champagne list for bar area was a huge hit with our group. However, dinner was mildly disappointing. Had one vegetarian in our group for which they were accomodating by changing a dish that had seafood into one that didn't but then they charged the same price. Also ordered one of the appetizers as an entree, which appeared unhchanged as a dinner and again charged for a "larger" portion.

"We took some new friends to Larkspur. They had never been there and were surprised by how great it was. We all had the caesar salad which is the best. They make potato croutons that are like square tater tots and they are yummy. The wine list is fabulous and the staff is very professional. I always have the veal scallopini and it was great as usual. Last year, Larkspur had gone down in quality. This year, they are back to being tops in our book! Always feels special!"

Had the Larksburger and truffle fries and both were delicious, but a large portion for a small diner. Handled a table for ten from Mexico easily and waiter and server both spoke Spanish. "We went to celebrate my husbands birthday, choosed the tasting menu but as advised by the waitress, The kids dindn't have The patience to go all thru The meal courses, even though food was outstanding as well as The wine list."

"Overpriced, pretentious service, and pretentious food. Try as they might, Larkspur only succeeded in reminding me of all the arrogant french restaurants I try to avoid."

"As always, the meail was outstanding. We chose to have the tasting menu, and the chef was able to give us both a different one, so between us we managed to taste almost the entire menu! With excellent wine pairing this made for a great, unrushed and enjoyable evening as always"
