"I was dining alone and got a lovely inside table, I was on the early side of the evening crowd but even as the place filled the noise wasn't too loud. My server was attentive but gave me space. I started with a golden beet salad which was amazingly fresh! The cherries just popped in my mouth. I followed with a chicken risotto which was (I'm a risotto snob) quite perfectly prepared. I was very pleased and would recommend Seasons."

"Much better than expected. We sat outside with 4 kids, under 11, and had a great meal. There were several trains that passed by but they were not disruptive. Chicken Piccata and mozzarella stuffed meatballs were excellent. Nice wine list to accompany. Probably the Best place in Davis."

"I should have requested a table on their outdoor patio. We sat inside and it was to noisy. We could hardly hear each other. The food was good and they have a very good selection."

"We celebrated a couple of birthdays at Seasons and enjoyed the food very much. The restaurant menu focuses on the wood-fired oven where they prepare pizza and a number of other dishes, but the menu is quite varied. High points for us were the non-alcoholic drinks (blackcurrant and mint muddle was delicious and refreshing), the steak (expensive, $36, but delicious and perfectly cooked), and a very good creme brulee."

"Have been there before. But food quality has always been inconsistent. Sometimes very good, sometimes iffy. This time the wait person was not on his toes."

"During my visit to Seasons, I held a business meeting and celebration of recent productions with members of my financial services team. The staff, food, and appearance/mood were great and complimented the event well. My team members have all mentioned how great the event was. The reservation was also very open, as I increased the amount of seats needed a few times. I must say that I will be reserving here in the future for other important meetings or celebrations."

"Met our friends from Seattle. Had never been to Seasons before. It turned out to be outstanding. Both the food and service was special. Each of us enjoyed our entree. No complaints, just a lot of compliments. Our waitress was extra special and took great care of us. We appreciated it. We will be back."

"We went on a Sunday night and it was quiet except for several large and VERY loud groups. The outdoor dining idea is a good one but it overlooks a parking lot and the train tracks..far from scenic. Inside would probably be preferable. The food was not memorable."

"The food was okay but not spectacular. The brunch menu was limited. However the almond blueberry crisp with lemon buttercream ice cream for dessert was fabulous."

"The wood-fired mussels had a wonderful flavor and the sauce was fabulous! Patio seating is more quiet and has less food odor than inside -- although one's conversation may be interrupted by a passing train."

"Always a favorite of ours in Davis, this time did not disappoint when we were joined by a pair of celebrated chefs and teachers from the Culinary Institute of America. Our children enjoyed their meals as much as we enjoyed ours. Everyone had a great time."

"I have been to Seasons multiple times. The wait staff is always kind, helpful, and professional. Some times the food is excellent, providing just the right balance of flavors. Other times I am left feeling like my food wasn't up to the quality I expected for the price. This experience was the later. Not sure if the usual Chef usually has Sundays off, but this wasn't the meal I'd hoped for."

"Our lunches were excellent (one hamburger and one chicken, avocado, and bacon sandwich). However, the noise level was so high that we had to lean across the table to hold a conversation. That was not pleasant.
I really don't think that the highest noise-level button above is accurant. There's a big different between energetic and much too loud."

"Excellent all around. We had seven people there and everyone said their food was excellent for every dish. I had the Turkey meatball/pasta dish for dinner with a soup, both of which were excellent. I had a dessert of gelato from a local bakery that also was excellent."

"The soup was very good, as were the appetizers. as my salmon with watercress. No problems there. I did, however, feel like I was being rushed through the entire meal. Dishes would disappear instantly within 20 seconds of the last bite being eaten. Not a relaxing experience compared to other restaurants of similar price and quality."

"Would have given service 5 stars except for the delay in getting acknowledged/water after being seated. Took about 5 minutes before anyone come to our table. After that, service was great for the rest of the evening. Food was delicious, we both enjoyed our meals. The rock shrimp fritters were great! Ambiance is good, but a little more space between the tables (along the window side) would make it much better. Was a bit to easy to hear the conversation from the table next to us, which means they probably had an easy time hearing our conversation as well. Maybe remove one table, and then adjust the spacing."

"Seasons has a really nice atmosphere but the hectic and crowded dinner rush may hamper your ability to have a romantic evening out. The location of your table in the restaurant is key. Ask for a quiet booth or something out on the covered patio."

"Excellent meal. Really enjoyed what we ordered. However we arrived during a busy streak (before a Mondavi event) so service was affected. Our waitress seemed in a hurry, all smiles but never attempted a personal connection, and never asked if we were in a hurry. We weren't. In fact it was my birthday and I stated such with my reservation. The message obviously never got to her. The bus boy was more personal. When we asked if every tuesday was this busy, he told us it was a Mondavi night. Willl I go back? Absolutely. It's the best restaurant in town."

"Solid, upscale lunch. Fish and chips done well (no malt vinegar, though). Squash and bean chili v. good though corn muffins unremarkable. Cobb salad fine. "Frozen" lemonade bland -- not sweet, which is good but not tart either."

"I ordered the baby back ribs--which was great 3 weeks ago--but dry and unappetizing this time. Other guests in my party reported that the salmon was dry, the duck special was good, and the fish special was good. The service was very good. The noise was not bad for a busy night, largely due to our 5:45 reservation, which allows for a leisurely dinner before the other guests' alcohol kicks in. Overall, the experience was just good. The fact is that Seasons is the best option in Davis. So, you have to allow for the occasional lapse in quality. We'll be back."

"It is a good place. However, they have feature at least one vegetarian on-tray. Having salads and pizza is not sufficient -- they are not on-trays. Also music could be quieter. It is hard to make conversation in the table while the music is loud in the background."

"This was our first negative experience at Season's. We saw our waitperson twice. The meal was rushed, the host circled around our table waiting for us to leave so he could seat other guests. We arrived at 5:30 and left at 6:35. The chlorine smell from the water glasses was toxic. I asked the host about it, and his response was "Davis has bad water".The beet salad, lettuce part, was over-dressed, the pizza cold, and the Mahi Mahi, three small pieces average, risotto good. The Frontier Cocktail was the highlight of the meal, an explosion in your mouth. If this had been our first experience, we would not have returned."

"We love great food and great wine. Seasons never disappoints. The beet salad was wonderful with its various colors, textures and fresh tastes. Our mussels were also very tasty....not one bad one either! Our server was attentive without being intrusive as well as quite knowledgable of the menu and the specials offered. Give Seasons a try!"

"Went there for lunch and had a very pleasant experience. The front was being landscaped so the outside was fenced in but regardless once inside the ambiance was comfortable and quiet, even when the train went by. Parking is also very conveniently located across the street."
