Chef Michael Chiarello has returned to his culinary roots by creating seasonal farm-to-table Italian cuisine reflecting the bold flavors of Chiarello’s heritage in his signature style 1st made famous at Tra Vigne in the 90’s. An award winning chef/vintner & Food Network host, Chiarello celebrates his Italian roots and the Napa Valley with a menu echoing his long practice of using the finest locally/sustainably produced food. Located in Yountville, in the heart of the Napa Valley, Bottega’s extensive wine list represents hard-to-find favorites of the Valley and interesting Italian selections. Chiarello restored the integrity of an old 1800’s estate by uncovering beautiful hard wood floors, timber beams, old brick walls and windows. The inviting dining room is accented with reclaimed antiques, warm fabrics and eclectic light fixtures lending to the restaurant’s old world comfort.

"It was ok . We were rushed in and out in 45 min.not much of a napa romantic experience! my husbands braised short ribs were good . We shared most of his plate . My lobster sea urchin rossito was not good at all . Was not asked at all if I enjoyed my meal . Would we go back ? Probably not ."

"This was our third dinner at Bottega. The food was excellent as it was the other two times. We had Green Egg & Ham and Shaved Brussels Sprout Salad for appetizers and Smoked Short Ribs and Iberian Pork Shoulder Loin and everything was delicious. Our server this time wasn't the most attentive and forgot a few items. Also when the pork was brought to our table it was cold and we had to send it back which interrupted our dinner, one of us had our food and the other did not. This is why I gave a lower rating for the service. We also mentioned it was our anniversary and our server never acknowledged it."

"THANK YOU Bottega for making this evening enjoyable for both of us. The Bear Flag Revolt cocktail was a bit too much "spanked with basil" but presented beautifully. The brussell sprout salad was a bit dry but the server quickly exchanged it with the asparagus which was amazing!! We had our reservations for 3 months but were nor asked if we

"Wonderful outside dining space for brunch. The waiter didn't tell us the specials we heard from the other tables. The grilled asperigus was a great start but the panacota was a big let down to end the meal. The mini carafe of wine was much better than guessing the pour size of wine by the glass. Will probably go there again, mainly for the appetizers, but not soon."

"We were just passing through the Napa Valley for lunch on a West Coast road trip from Seattle down to LA. The food was phenomenal and the outdoor setting was perfect with beautiful gardens in the surrounds. The cocktail list is hard to choose from with all the good choices! I had all seafood... 2 starters and a main, then I also had dessert! I was definitely full, but utterly satisfied. Our server was just amazing as well, really on top of things. The little area it's in is just gorgeous with a popular bakery, cute little boutiques and stunning gardens. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, and I can't wait for the chance to return again in the future."

"My wife and I were visiting the Napa Valley for the 1st time. We are both foodies and wine lovers. I researched our trip months ahead of time and had read and heard so much about Bottega. Without a doubt, the food was the worst either of us has ever experienced. My fish was burnt to a crisp on the outside and dry and without flavour throughout. My wife had the lasagna and the noodles were charred black on edges and the tomatoes sauce was like a jar of Ragusa had been poured over it. The waiter came over after a couple of minutes and asked "does it taste as good as it looks". We both laughed at the absurdity of his question. We both felt like we were on "candid camera""

"I know that Murph is an icon, but as a server, he needs to listen more to the guests instead of trying to finish customer's sentences. Some of the hostess's walk across a wood floor like they were cattle (way too loud for one person in a pair of shoes.). Got our water refilled every sip, however, never got my glass of wine. "The Napa Valley region is blessed with amazing restaurants and Bottega is no exception. The food was fantastic, the ambiance relaxing, and the service was excellent. My wife got the ravoli whcih was one of the best she has ever had. I got the short ribs which was unique and delicious.
The only disappointment was the Brussels sprout salad which was solid but since everything else is so great feel short. Regardless, if you're in the area try this place out for sure.
FYI - Comparatively prices are very affordable."

"About half way thru our brunch someone started smoking a cigar somewhere in the parking lot. The smell was overwhelming, and ruined the meal for me. Given that they have a tenant who sells cigars, my guess is that this happens every now and then, and that the restaurant should step right up and deal with it immediately. They were so busy, as it was Mothers' Day, that it was hard to get ahold of anyone to go out in the parking lot and find the offender. Also, we had to ask for their signature bread and parmesan spread which, I think, normally is automatically brought to guests after they are seated."

"I have been to Bottega many times and it never disappoints. Went there for Mothers Day, and though the place was packed, as expected, the food and service was spot on. Our favorites were the meatball appetizer, the short ribs, and the molten chocolate cake. They have an interesting and extensive wine list, and their cocktails are amazing, especially if you're a gin fan."

"We went to Bottega for Mother's Day. Food was FABULOUS! I had a short rib meatball appetizer and the skirt steak. My husband had a salmon special. Every dish was prepared well, presented well and super tasty! I would recommend it to anyone. "We brought our mother here for her special days - both Mother's Day and her birthday. The food was very good and the ability of the restaurant to accommodate various dietary needs was very impressive. Mom is vegetarian - not too difficult to work around - but she had a good number of choices and the food was beautifully presented and very tasty. I am gluten free due to celiac and the restaurant had an impressive awareness of not only how they prepared each dish but also all of the ingredients that they added as well as the ingredients and preparation of the items they purchase and use."

"This was my second time at Bottega and there will definitely be a third and more I hope! I am Australian and come from one of the better food and wine states - South Australia - the restaurant, its strength in regionality where possible and it's absolute honouring of taste and textures surpassed anything I've had previously. Travelling on my own, it was comfortable just sitting at the bar, devouring gorgeous food and sharing some nice conversation with the bar man (who by the way was incredible). Overall, a memorable experience! So much so I bought the book so I can at least try to recreate some of the amazing flavours - albeit never as well. The book will take pride on my bookshelf and the memory will never fade."

"The restaurant is beautifully done, wine country meets Tuscany in the middle of Yountville, with excellent outdoor seating. Food was meh and pricey. We appreciated the uniqueness of the dishes but found that as you ate more and more, the flavors became overwhelming to the palate. Service was spotty. The restaurant got busy just after 11:30am, so the servers were spread a little thin. All in all it's great to impress out of towners, or on a date night. Since this was our first time, we'd try it again and get totally different entrees."

"Very good meal overall. We really enjoyed the barrata appetizer--English peas, fava beans, shallots. My branzino was excellent, and my wife's short rib meatballs were good but a bit underdone (for short ribs). The tiramisu was more of a pudding than a tiramisu. As a party of two, we were seated far in the back of the restaurant, alas. But the food was really good."

"Food was just okay, nothing that made us go WOW. Portions were small, except for my husband's pork chop which was huge and cooked perfectly. Our server was quick talking, and did not appreciate us asking to repeat the special for that night again. She was NOT not very attentive. Our water glasses were never filled, even after we asked her twice for additional. "I escape to Bottega as often as I can and I typically kidnap a friend or two to share the experience. On my budget, dining here is my sinful pleasure and worth every bit of the money I spend here. I always ask for the short-rib burger to be served as an appetizer and everyone LOVES this simply prepared, juicy excursion to flavor town. It's not on the menu, so be sure to ask for it. Another favorite of mine is the pasta carbonara (heavy sigh). The carbonara is diabolically delicious - it’s a wicked flavor party with textures dancing in my mouth. Our service was perfect! The staff always seem to provide the right balance of interest and solitude (I love that they give you time to enjoy the meal at your own pace). Ciao!"

"Food was basically good, but not as flavorful as I was expecting. The service was a little disconnected and the waiters kept trying to pick up our glasses and plates before we were finished - even though the restaurant was not full. I just think they were not paying as much attention - with the exception of one lovely lady who really knew her stuff. It was good but not as good as Bistro Jeanty!"

"We love all the food that we had here. We wanted to try the Octopus but they ran out of it. The meatballs are so good. I had the Spaghetti with Prawns and bf had the Acorn Fed Pork and it was awesome. We had some dessert too and it's very good. We will recommend this place to people and we will definitely come back here."

"What I expected from a Michael Chiarello restaurant. I was not disappointed. Even though the restaurant seats a lot of people, the food quality was superb. "The food was incredible. The polenta under glass was MAGNIFICENT! Wine selection is outstanding and very reasonable. I wouldn't suggest bringing in wine as the corkage is $25 and there are many great wines featured that are in the $40-$50 range that are lovely. Two observations that need attention are that the air conditioning needs to stay on when it is a hot day. The room vascilated in tempature and that was a bit of a problem because it was close to 90 degrees outside at 5:30pm. Also, the tables are a bit close together. I had to squeeze to get between tables and that was a bit awkward going sideways from a bench seat to get up and excuse myself. Overall, the food is magnificent and the dining experience was great."

"Reprising the venues featured in The Cooking Channel's show "Unique Eats," we were not disappointed at Bottega Napa Valley in Yountville. We started with the Pasta Fritta con Proscuitto & Lambrusco Poached Pears with Apple & Pear "nuvola" (i.e., "cloud" - a sweet airy whipped complement); four pieces, shared four or two ways. Secondi/Paste was the Potato Dough Raviolo filled with spinach and ricotta, black truffles, farm fresh egg yolk, sage brown butter (a "must see" when dining at Bottega - share with a friend, very rich). Primi was a special that evening - an absolutely stellar sea bass, shared by two already near-full from previous courses! Eat al fresco - the inside dining rooms of these Napa Valley hot spots are noisy!"
