"I've been to the Walnut Grill before and enjoyed it very much, but this was a very bad experience. It was Father's Day, so perhaps they were busier than they thought they'd be. The hostess sat us and did not give us menus. We were sat in a back room that seemed like it was an overflow area where other large parties were sat (there were only 2 adults and a baby in our party). It took the server 10 minutes to greet us and take our order. After we ordered we realized there was brunch that no one informed us of. We waited for 30 minutes for our food and nothing (including our appetizer) ever came out. It seemed like the staff was focused on the large parties, so we were just in the way."

"Great place for a casual dining out. Very energetic atmosphere. The outside seating was nice, great firepit and the two guys singing were awesome. Steamed clams and calamary appetizers were wonderful...could have eaten an entire meal on duplicates of those. Greek pasta was very good. My husband had a steak cooked medium well (ugh), and it was still very tender and flavorful. I ordered the Mahi Mahi and it was overcooked but when I told the waitress that, they immediately put in a new order and it was done properly AND the manager was very attentive to me and wanted to be sure I was happy.
Would definitely go again.
Only complaint would be that it was a bit too loud so it was hard to have conversations across the table."

"We went there for mother's day brunch
We got overcharged for drinks and I think they were understaffed because our servers was covering for another server and it was hard to get service and it took forever for us to get our bill (besides the overcharges)

"I took my Mother to lunch for Mother's Day. The restaurant was packed, but the service was great. The waiter was just wonderful especially considering the work load he was under. We had a very nice time and the waiter was responsible for that to a great degree."

"We had the brunch buffet. The eggs and breakfast meats were good. There were other offerings that were not great. The shrimp were soggy. The crab legs had no way to access the meat. The prime rib was undercooked and the guy at the service table had no clue how to cut a slice well. Brunch was way too expensive for what we got. It was nice that the kids ate for free though.
The brownies were rock solid. The grapes were not good. We had been to walnut grill before for dinner and had a better experience."

"Do not order the French Onion Soup. Ordered the Filet Mignon and it was too salty. Baked potato wasn't quite down. The noise level was loud and it wasn't even crowded. There was a party just leaving in the back room, as the staff cleaned up, they felt the back door open and the area we were sitting in got very chilly. The veggie of the day was a green bean/broccoli mix, only got two tiny pieces of broccoli.
I recall the noise level, it was too loud for too few people in the establishment."

"Saturday at 1:15, they had two parties going on at the same time so when we placed our order the food arrived at different times. We had to wait for 10 min. for the food to arrive for the other two members of our party. The manager was apologetic and paid for our appetizer and drinks. The food was just ok."

"Walnut Grill, aka Walnut Grove, has a great menu full of tasty meals to complement its bar food style. I and mine split the Surf-and-Turf for Two. The steak was cooked to perfection and the rice and vegetables were great.
Don't forget to check in on Foursquare to get a free appetizer the first time you go there.
My one beef with waitstaff every time I go there is that every server I've had hasn't been attentive to my water needs. My glass should rarely be empty, and if I reach for an empty glass, it should be an exception situation. I should *never* have to ask for water."

"It was OK. VERY LOUD. The food was hot when we got it, but the waiter forgot a part of our meal - we had to remind him. Asked to have my dinner boxed and had to ask for it when our check was delivered. Ordered coffee to start and it almost got cold until some brought us the milk. Only went because we had a coupon. That back room where we eat was cold. Felt the difference immediately entering back into the main dining room."

"We had dinner on a Saturday evening. The food was very good. There was plenty of it and it was very hot. The service however was not so great. Our waiter seemed rushed. He was training someone but didn't seem to explain very much to her. I didn't like the fact that he would reach across one of us in order to serve another one of us. He should have gone around the back of us. Also, he never came back to see if the dinner was good or if anyone needed anything else like more water or bread. Luckily for us, everyone's dinner was delicious! The person he was training never came to check on us either. I would definitely go back to eat here but hope we would get a different server next time."

"We go back to our "don't eat out on holidays" routine. Our dining experience on Valentine's Day was definitely not up to the usual high standards at Walnut Grill. If this was our first experience there, we would not return. The waiter we had seemed inexperienced and nervous. Many requests had to be made multiple times and some were never fulfilled - we just gave up asking. Food was good but also not up to par. Surprisingly, there were many misbehaving young children in the dining room after 7:00 PM which was distracting since the parents did not bother taking them out. We were seated at a "temporary" added table in the aisle. Overall, very disappointing. We dine regularly at Walnut Grill."

"I have been to Walnut Grill in Wexford several times including a few holidays (namely Valentine's Day). Their food has always been fresh and I don't think I've ever had a disappointing meal. Their bar area is very nice and can be difficult to get into because it fills up early. The food borders on overpriced but the ingredients are so fresh and it's done so well that I don't mind spending a little extra. The staff are extremely friendly and keep things moving. Walnut Grill also does a nice job of creating specialty menus for holidays that they normally keep for the whole week instead of just that one day. Overall an enjoyable place."
