"Great food, incredible wine list, very busy restaurant if you are looking for a quiet dinner this would not be the place for you, on the weekends every table is taken, a mix of young & middle aged crowd, great bar. Service was a little scarce & I wish there were more wine by the glass options not just super expensive bottles, not very economical if your significant other doesn't drink wine & you do. Otherwise would recommend just word to the wise, very loud & busy, tables are very close together so your neighbors can easily hear your entire conversation"

"We had an early breakfast sitting, it was hassle free. The only thing to recommend is to request where you would like to sit, we were placed near the kitchen/walk way when the Restaurant was nearly empty. Food was good, the waiters were outstanding-very present and gracious."

"This is my wife's favorite place specifically for linguine pescatore. The broth is amazing. I like everything although the steak is not the best in town, but this is an Italian place not a steak restaurant. The service can occasionally slow down but it's usually very good. The hosts are super nice and the pastries are beautiful. Highly recommend."

"We ordered the veal scallopini and the smoked salmon pasta with pink vodka sauce. Both were flavorful, with great texture and were very satisfying. Would definitely recommend the food and desserts. On the Saturday night when we went, the atmosphere was pretty loud--there were some children seated at the table next to us who were giggling and squealing (as children do, they were actually pretty well-behaved) and we could barely hear them over the din from the rest of the restaurant. Wouldn't recommend it as a romantic setting (at least not on a busy night)."

"I made a reservation for 10am for a party of 7 for breakfast. We arrived at 10 and had to wait 15 minutes for them to ready a table. After we were seated it took 10 minutes for anyone to take our drink order. She seemed to be rushing us with food orders as the place seemed to be understaffed. When we asked for coffee refills the server kept using a leaky pot and dripping all over the table. After we placed our order we waited about 35 min for our food to arrive. The man serving our food seemed agitated and rushed to put food down. I thought the food was pretty good. I got the chocolate chip waffle and club omlette. Limited yet creative breakfast menu. Step up customer service and you may have a good restaurant on your hands"

"My family and I have been going to Mi Piace for almost 20 years and had excellent food and service.
What happened? Management did not plan staff & food accordingly. I was greatly dissappointed. Service took such a long time that the table next to us with a party of 4 walked out. They did not even get water. Our omleted was barely stuffed with ingredients. I had ordered 2 English muffins and when the muffin came, I was informed that there we no jam. Why can't she tell me that when I have asked for strawberry jam or grape jam preferred for my English muffins 10 minutes prior to coming out!!! The only excuse our waitress can give us was "As you can see, we're very busy". That only tells me that management did not do a good job."

"We waited over an hour WITH an Open Table reservation. The manager's explanation for this was, "Every Saturday night, my life turns into a nightmare!" Sounds like they better get someone in there who knows how to manage a restaurant. Totally unacceptable and the food was just okay. We will definitely not be going back, especially now that they have some big time competition in Pasadena in Trattoria Neapolis where the food is superb and the service is fabulous."

"I've been to Mi Piace a few times, and the food here is great! I had a great time with my friend sipping on some wine and amazing cocktails. They have a huge selection of yummy desserts after too!! The service is a little bit on the slower side... but this place was packed! If you're an impatient person, then I wouldn't suggest that you come here on a busy night... but otherwise it's def a place worth trying out!"

"I will definitely will NOT be coming back to celebrate a holiday at this establishment. Despite checking in before our reservation time and our entire party present (4 people) at our reservation time, we WAITED 40 minutes for a table. They barely stopped taking walk-ins at 11:30 am, IMO this should've been done earlier to accommodate the people with reservations. We saw parties of 2-3 get seated before us despite them checking in after us (this includes my husband's cousin who had a res at the same time as us). Several of those parties seemed to already know the STAFF. The zinger, we were seated next to the hostess podium where the wait staff used the limited space behind me as a major thorough way."

"The portions are quite small. We ordered a salad, spaghetti, and a lasagna. When we were done with the meal, all three of us were still hungry. The portion of the salad was very small, the lettuce was a little brown. Did not seem fresh at all. The spaghetti was the best of all despite the very small portion. The lasagna was also quite small. I don't know how we can get full off their dishes. We paid a lot, yet we did not receive a lot back."

"We're always satisfied with the delicious menu Mi Piace has to offer. We always start with the calamari, & always get 2 pasta dishes, & dessert; however, this review needs to be about Mark D, the incredible Bartender! He went above and beyond to take care of us. Despite how EXTREMELY busy he was he continued to be attentive and helpful in recommending dishes we haven't tried before & very plesant. I appreciate hardworking people, and hope the next time we visit he'll be on staff. Another mention to the hostess on staff that day, she was very sweet and tried her best to get us in earlier even though our reservations weren't for another hour. Keep it up!!"

"My family and I came in for breakfast for Mother's Day. The reason the overall rating is one star is because the hostess was the rudest person I've ever encountered at a restaurant. I work as a hostess, so I understand the difficulties the job comes with. However, I would never treat my guest as nasty as she did. We made a reservation and waited 15 past our reservation time with a half empty restaurant. When I asked how much longer the wait was going to be she rolled her eyes again, pointed at the table and said she's waiting for two chairs. I simply asked why we can't take the empty chairs next to the table, and she stated "nope" with an attitude. I asked to speak to the manager- and he/she never came to the table! Unbelievable!"

"Our Server has a delightful personality--very "New York". He knew the food and was able to help with the wine. He seemed to anticipate our table needs and show up at the right time. We were seated promptly even though there was a discrepancy with the time. The atmosphere was friendly and upbeat. The other diners were very pleasant--I'm convinced the kindest people eat there. The energy is high and he food is the best ever!!! The menu is awesome (so much from which to choose). We will go again and again."

"If you are inside on a Saturday night, you would have to shout to talk. But we ate outside and it was perfect. They don't have heaters but it was a warm evening.
The food was fabulous and when the bill came we were surprised by how little we had spent - that's a nice change.
The service was very attentive.
We had gone to the Pasadena Playhouse and not many other places were open - this was a great find."

"Mi Piace has consistently good food although it is usually crowded and noisy for dinner. We enjoyed our experience and can understand why it is so popular. They even provided my husband with a slice of a delicious chocolate cake for his birthday on the house. I had requested the cake on my reservation request, but certainly didn't expect no charge for it. This was a very nice touch!"

"Arrived at 6pm on a Thursday.Seated immediately.We were looking for a quiet dinner before going to the Ice House. The window table for two was extremely small, and we were sandwiched between two loud talkers: On the left was a man on a cell phone giving investment advice while his date stared at the ceiling.On the right was a pregnant lady telling her friend all about her soon to be out of wedlock baby. We soon moved to another table, where we were not subjected to someone else's conversations. The waiter was quick to take our order (the salmon & the scampi),the food was very good, and we didn't have to talk over someone else's conversations."
