"Been here many times. Excellent menu and service. Highly recommend the grilled fish tacos, Mediterranean chicken flatbread, calamari. Disappointed they don't offer meatloaf sandwich or just meatloaf anymore. Please bring it back! Service outstanding."

"Always a good dining experience at Cafe 4. Our server, Mark, was exceptionally polite and professional. The salads had freshest produce and presentation attractive. Mac and lobster was as always, mouth watering and the wine a great accent. My dining partner is a meat and potatoes kind of guy and first time diner at Cafe 4. Needless to say man c cheese was the ticket for him. I talked him into ordering the pecan crusted talapia - he ate every bite with enthusiasm."

"While the items on the menu are fairly basic, each item has a unique gourmet twist. Everything I have ever gotten at Cafe 4 is absolutely delicious, and I recommend Cafe 4 to anyone in Knoxville. The restaurant is slightly upscale, but still quite affordable. You CAN have your cake and eat it too!"

"The food and service was very good, but it was very noisy. This architecture style with exposed black ducts and tall open ceilings has very poor acoustics. Bella Luna across Market Sqaure is the same way. If you want a quiet, cozy dinner with conversation, I'd go somewehere else."

"The server seemed to want to get our party of 5 out the door as soon as possible. He took plates away while people were still eating & made numerous other cues to indicate he wanted to turn the table over as soon as possible. We stayed an hour and fifteen minutes total for a full dinner, so it's not as if we were there for hours and asking for more water or anything. The food was mediocre at best--mashed potatoes tasted as if they'd been on a steam table for an hour & the tilapia was dry & overcooked."

"Cafe4 is a bit far of a drive (20+ miles) to consider myself a 'regular' but I try to get downtown as much as possible. Cafe4 has never disappointed me. Using Open Table to reserve the table for us on Easter Sunday was a breeze. I recommend Cafe4 and Open Table. They work well together."

"Always an very good experience here and the food is constantly delicious. I've never had a bad meal and for the locals - the burger is as good as Litton's and the best in downtown! Shrimp & grits has the right amount of spice and the texture is sublime. My favorite of all is the short rib grilled cheese - try it, you won't be disappointed as it's comfort food at it's best!"

"Cafe 4 is a good choice for dinner before seeing a performance at the Tennessee Theater. It is within easy walking distance from the theater and the staff does a good job of providing timely service. The restaurant is a bit noisy, but there is a small patio that provides fun people watching opportunities since it is right on Market Square. The menu offers a variety of choices, however, it does change fairly often, so a previous favorite may no longer be available. Also, I would prefer having an actual wine glass for wine, rather than what appears to be a small drinking glass."

Market Square is a really neat area, it was our first time visiting that part of Knoxville. Highly recommend!!"

He was helpful, polite, smiled a lot, and simply represented his employers well. The restaurant was nice; our food was good; for what we got, the prices were reasonable. All good. But Phillip was working hard and made all those things come together in a good meal well served. Bravo, Phillip. We would certainly return to Cafe 4."
