"I had dinner with my wife and mother here to celebrate her 75th birthday. We seem to come here once a year for a special occasion, and each time I think to myself "why don't we come here more often." Our meal was outstanding and the staff couldn't have been nicer."

"Wide variety of choices for prefix menus, good food, good service (would be rated excellent had the somelier used decanter for the wine), good portion for gourmet dinner. Not a romantic setting, relatively empty for Friday night, too hard to find, walking through Draegger to find the restaurant is not ideal. Good setting for groups (has big dinning table like one in a custom home), private room for cooking lesson, good alternative restaurant to other high end places in the city, not sure worth the drive from South Bay."

"it was a five-star experience, period. We've been here quite a few times before and like it a lot. But this past visit was the best. Our previous experience was always good. But usually there is one or two items (food) that didn't wowed us which means good but not impressive. But this past dinner we had, (both of us chose the three-course menu), from appetizers to entrees to deserts, everything was great. The mushroom salad and squid salad, pork loin and belly, as well as the "coffee and cigar" and white chochalate cheesecake, it was just amazing!"

"Our service was slow between servings. We were told the kitchen had some issues with our order, however, people who arrived after we did were served their meals before us. The management did express their concerns and regret for the delay. We will still come for dinner and the restraurant as the food and presentation is excellant"

"We went here early on a Thursday evening for a business dinner - interesting location within Draeger's Market Place. A three course setting for under $60. I started with the Duck Confit Pate de Champagne - little disappointing, confit was a little bland, the levain in short supply and it practically swimming in mustard - expected better. I followed this up with a Smoked Pork Loin and Belly - good choice, meat was cooked nicely not to dry, and the accompanying lentils provided a good texture contrast. The meal was finished with a good cheese selection. We washed this down with a nice half bottle of Lusseau ST. Emilion. Attentive waiter who resisted the tempation to be over bearing given the small crowd. Overall an enjoyable meal"

"I have gone to this restaurant many times over several years and find the results remarkably similar: food is excellent but service is amazingly inconsistent. Again this time, after being seated promptly, there was a long wait before a waiter came to our table. For the rest of the dinner he was scarcely to be seen, much less to be asked for something or a question. The wine list is notable and broad but really pricey. We brought our own bottle of Burgundy. The waiter recognized wrong glasses and switched them--but did not return to pour the wine.Even the maitre d' offered to check something with the kitchen but never returned. Preston Dishman is no longer the chef but the new holds promise. Expect around $100 per person."

"As always, this is an incredible dining experience. I would recommend to anyone who wants a nice dinner out in a very comfortable venue. A little pricy, but worth it."

"Always wonderful and imaginative food. Service is great, with great attention to detail. For example, this one of the few places I've been to that makes sure the milk that comes with coffee at the end of the meal is hot. Amazing desserts."

"We've eaten at Viognier many times. The food is consistently very good, the restaurant is not noisy (a huge plus as many restaurants are so loud it's like eating in a bar), service is attentive but not invasive. We brought another couple and had two flatbread appetizers. One that has been on their menu for many years (a plus) the salmon and creme the other a brussel sprout and pancetta (very tasty). I had a crawfish croquette starter (flavorful and nice crunch), a flounder entre (lightly seasoned with salt and pepper) which was outstanding!! and a Boston creme cake for dessert. My wife had the artichoke and asparagus ravioli starter (excellent) and mushroom risotto (perfectly cooked). Presentation of all the dishes was very nice!! Excelle"

"The menu is boring, same old same old, food is mediocre for the price they are charging. Haven't been back for a long time because the menu seldom changes and this return visit was disappointing. Use to be great!"

"Food was excellent. Service was good, but a little strange. Took a while to get a menu and they brought the check at the end of the night without asking if we wanted a coffee or drink. Overall, I would definitely recommend ."

"What a beautiful evening! We brought our good friends to the restaurant to celebrate their anniversary, and had a great time. Food - as usual - was excellent, the service attentive yet unobtrusive, and the ambiance wonderful. We will definitely be back (again) for special occassions."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Voignier's. Everything was delicious and although the portions were not huge, we enjoyed it all so much we ate too much! The food was beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked. Check it out if you want a special dinner out."

"Viognier was absolutely my favorite restaurant over Gary Danko and Fleur de Lys when chef Preston Dishman was the executive chef. I was so disappointed to go back and find out he's no longer with the restaurant. Everything has changed not in a good way. The quality of the food dropped dramatically. The tomato soup tasted like campbell's. The pate I had was not even close to how a pate should be. The pork belly dish my boyfriend had was beyond salty that he had one bite and he was done. Such a waste of the freshest ingredients from Draegers."

"Consistently one of the best of the best anywhere in the Bay. Delicious food, elegant presentation, sublime flavors, impeccable service. It's everything you want for a great meal out. Whether a high powered business dinner or a romantic night on the town, Viognier always delivers. The mix and match make your own prix fixe is a great treat and they will happily wine pair it for you! Top marks."

"When I arrived, I was nervous as it was not packed. Granted, it was a Tuesday night. However, the food was amazing. I was also pleasantly surprised to discover cooking classes at Draeger's, which were on the same level as this restaurant. I'd definitely go back."

"This was my first time at Viognier, and everything was superb for my husband's birthday dinner. We both loved all the courses and the inventiveness of the food, and we really appreciated the attentiveness to our drink orders."

"The quality of the food is superb, and they were rather flexible about crafting a menu to your liking in spite of the rather right looking prix fixe menu. We ordered the wine pairings, which were very good and just about the right size (for someone who had to drive home). Viognier is a very upclass restaurant, so beware of the prices before you go."

"This place was much too old fashioned for us. Everyone was very nice, but almost too formal to the point where it was awkward. The food was very good though. We both agreed it would be a great place to take our parents or grandparents. But for the price, we won't be back for just the two of us."

"This restaurant is a real gem. for anyone who doesn't know about it, it may seem a little strange that it is located in the upper floor of an upscale grocery store. However, once you're there, forget about the grocery store: you're in a top level, beautiful restaurant with high level service and exquisite food. It is pricey, but for a special occasion, you cannot go wrong."

"My friend and I found the food generally on the sweet side. Of eight dishes only the charcuterie and the calamari did not disappoint. Be prepared that these are miniscule portions despite the price. I should add that my friend is leaving soon for Paris to study at Le Cordon Bleu."
