Steiner Ranch Steakhouse is a 14,000 sq ft restaurant built on a mountain over looking Lake Travis. We have three levels, four bars, and three outdoor dining areas with breath taking views. All steaks are hand selected Prime beef cuts, seasoned, broiled to order and topped with our house butter blend with caramlized shallots and chives. It is the perfect destination any night of the week.

"Steiner Ranch Steakhouse is one of our very favorites and even more of a benefit being in our own back yard. The view (even w/the lake low) is breath taking. The food is excellent always (the red fish is amazing believe it or not!) And every time that we have Steve as our waiter, it makes the evening that much better! He is truly amazing, funny, witty, but professional and gives us the best service ever! :)"

"The food was amazing (hello lobster mac and cheese!) our server was very kind and attentive, and the drinks were mixed well; but we were expecting a better table without so many distractions. It was our honeymoon (noted on reservation) and we were placed between 2 large parties and a table with a very young, active child. I guess we should have asked to be moved to the several other empty tables."

"We had a reservation and arrived on time but were not seated until 45 minutes later. The brunch offerings were good, but expensive. I had the Lobster Torta which was very dry and not flavorable. My companions had the steak and eggs and they said it was very good. Probably because it was Mother's day, everything was a little crazy, but they are set up to have large crowds, wish the timing and food was better for the price. I have been here for dinner and things seem to run more smoothly."

"Went for mothers day brunch, 10am reservation. Our table was in front of a window. Nice brunch menu or choice of full dinner menu. I had Prime Rib, 16oz , my wife had the lobster Frittata, stuffed salmon for my daughter and a pancake breakfast for my son. Portions are very large and great for sharing, so everyone can try a little of everything (something my foodie family likes to do). My prime rib was the best Ive ever had and I dine frequentkly at some of the best steak houses. The stuffed salmon was delisious and nicely presented, the Frittata had huge chuncks of real lobstre in it and my son's breakfast fit the bill perfectly. The sevice was great and friendly, the food was very good and my Prime Rib, once again the best. Well worth it."

"Went to Steiner Ranch Steakhouse for a birthday dinner. The food was good, although one steak had to be sent back for further cooking. We're very good about taking care of it and seeing that the steak had been redone to the level requested. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Would save this restaurant as special occasion since the price range is higher than we might normally pick."

"This was my first visit. There is a great view of the lake from the deck. It was a sat night so they had live music outside and it was hopping. We ate in the bar section, where you actually get a better view that the dining room. The steaks we outstanding, as was the artichoke/breadbowl appitizer. We could not have been happier. It is expensive."

"Have visted Steiner Ranch before and enjoyed but this time was not what we expected. The manager was running around like a chicken with his head cut off (clearly not in control). The food was good but by no means great! The waiter we had was exceptional and that by far was the highlight of the evening. We ask for a table not in the center of the room and many table were available when we arrived less than 20% of the tables were full but they still set us in probably the busiest intersection on the second floor. This does not compare to fine dining but more like an Outback steak house. Steaks were ok but not even close to being great! Spent $200.00 and the only thing great was the waiter! I will not return!"

"We were seated inside (because the outdoor area was closed due to bad weather), initially in a cramped corner. But after asking, we were moved to a more central table, where all of us had views of the TVs airing the NBA playoff games. We ordered two Pinot Noirs before dinner and a Faust Cabernet with our meal -- all three wines were outstanding. The four of us all ordered steaks. I had the Filet Migon Oscar; my brothers Ribeye and NY Strips. We were all very pleased with the quality and preparation of our steaks and sides (wedge salads, mushrooms, creamed corn, apsparagus). We shared the flourless chocolate cake with fresh berries for dessert -- superb."

"This was our first time. We were seated promptly with a beautiful view of Lake Travis. Service was prompt and courteous. I received my bone in ternderloin steak - rare - instead of medium rare. Server promptly sent it back and kept my wife's meal warmed. My steak returns and is now medium.Third time steak arrived medium rare to medium but I simply gave up at that point. I don't understand a steak house that can't prepare a $52 steak properly.
The manager stopped by but never apologized nor acknowledged their error. Unbelievable. The bill came without so much as an apology or offer of a cup of coffee. I might be back for a cocktail on the deck but I won't be ordering a steak!"

"The food was excellent. The waitress seemed "green". She did not bring the bread out with the salad and drinks. We had to ask for it. The TV was on, which detracted from the ambience. The diner should not be given a choice of a "table with a view" if indeed it really means a "table in the bar"."

"I took my Husband there for his 30th Birthday and we had a wonderful dinner! The drinks kept coming and the food was amazing!!!! We had a full course meal that night. Everything was delicious from the Fried Calamari to the Steak to the Cheesecake!!

I ordered the short ribs, the waitress brought them out covered in not one, but two types of onions to cover how black and burned they were. My boyfriend had the 16 oz ribeye, which he said was good, it was far from how he ordered it (rare)."

"We had heard people rave about Steiner Ranch Steakhouse so decided to give it a try. We were celebrating our anniversary and it was not a good choice if you wanted to have an intimate experience; better for a birthday or family gathering.There were several very young children in our section of the restaurant; all crying.
The service was fine but the food mediocre and expensive. My filet was overdone and the mashed potatoes bland. My husband got a tomato salad which was bland.
The views of Lake Travis are spectacular and they have a large outdoor patio for dining. They had a fairly large band set up for a concert later that evening."

"We had a 6:45 reservation and came in early for happy hour, the young lady at the hostess stand was very sweet and accommodating when we told her we wanted to wait until 7:30. We really loved your new happy hour, add that to the breathtaking patio and you can't go wrong. We were given a pager but thought it was very personal that the hostess remembered us and came and got us instead for our table. The main dining room really gives you that "VIP" feeling! Our ribeyes were some of the best steaks we've ever had, cooked to perfection and with a beautiful delivery. You guys have a great combination of excellent service combined with to die for food. Hard to beat Steiner Ranch Steakhouse!"

"The server, Paul, greeted us with a happy anniversary which speaks to the communication skills of the reservation team. A rose for my wife wasn't expected but it would have made an impression (Eddie V's does this).
Starting with a straight up beefeater martini (good as always)we decided on the Elk appetizer, interesting, but I've eaten ostrich much more tender. Then salads followed by 2 Filet Mignon, medium, 8 and 10 once respectively.
This is where the wheels came off the track. Shar's was done perfectly medium, whereas mine was still mooing (no kidding). Paul took it back and on the return, the results were worse. They prepared a second serving but by this time I was no longer hungry."

"The food at Steiner Ranch Steakhouse is excellent, and so was the service, but what in our minds sets you apart is their excellent pianist. His music always adds a special ambiance to our dining experience. At the end of our meal we're not eager to go, but to linger and continue to hear his music. SRS is becoming our FAVORITE place to dine, especially for special occasions."

"My date and I had a wonderful time at this beautiful restaurant. Loved everything from the appetizers to the dessert. (You've got to get the Chuckwagon Cheesecake.) Our waiter, Dave, was knowledgeable,gracious and attentive without being bothersome. The view was great but they should think about moving the employee parking lot as it distracts from the wonderful view of the lake. We've definitely found a new favorite date destination. I might add that we're both in our 50's, so we've been to hundreds of restaurants between the two of us."

"Everything was perfect! From the moment we arrived we were blown away by the fantastic customer service. Everyone from the Valet Guys to the Busboys were friendly and seemed genuinely pleased to see us. Our dinner was phenomenal. My Filet couldn't have been better and the Lobster Mac&Cheese is absolutely decadent! We were so pleased to be able to speak with the manager when he stopped by our table and let him know how impressed we were with the entire evening. We can't wait to go back and will suggest the Steakhouse to everyone!"

"This was out first time coming in and it definetly will not be our last. My husband and I were on a date night (celebrating our anniversary) and things couldn't have been better. From the hostess stand, our waiter, the amazing food and then having the manager come by and wish us a happy anniversary. Consider us life long guests, we will be back soon!"

"Food was very good and what we go there for. The negative on this visit was the wait for our table. We made a reservation for 8:15; but arrived early, about 7:45. We asked about the table at 8:30 to make sure our buzzer worked and were told they were just waiting for 5 tables to pay. We could see a few empty tables ready for seating. We were finally seated at 8:50."

"I am from the Chicago area where have plenty of excellent dining options, especially when it comes to finding a good steak. My daughter is a student at BU, while visiting we wanted to take her our for a good meal. At the recommendation of her friends from Austin, we dined at Steiner Ranch. I was impressed with every aspect of our dining experience. Great atmosphere all around whether you want to dine outdoors, hang out in the bar, or settle in for a relaxing meal in the main dining room. Service was outstanding, food was 5 stars and I'm not just talking about their steaks. Do not leave with out trying the lobster mac and cheese! Fantastic! We will be back. Thanks Steiner Ranch."
