Visit us at Belford’s Savannah – Seafood & Steaks. Belford’s offers casual fine dining in City Market. Enjoy award winning cuisine in a historic brick building dating back to 1902 which previously housed the Belford family’s wholesale food company. Since opening for business in 1997, Belford’s has taken the prize four times at the annual Taste of Savannah event judged by Southern Living magazine. "I had previously had a wonderful experience just two months prior for brunch. The shrimp and grits were fabulous and the service and ambience wonderful. I returned with a colleague on a Wednesday evening and had a completely different experience. I had to send the shrimp and grits back because the shrimp were so tough, and the repeat was exactly the same. My colleague had tuna and said it was just "okay." I don't think I'll return."

"We dined at belford's on the weekend of my wedding when everyones plans were tentative but the restaurant was so accommodating and friendly. Our server Leslie was great even with my fussy family and she met all of our needs. She knew the specials and had great recommendations. I got the baked brie appitizer and calimari for the table and one guest started with the crab cake. Everything was delicious. For entrees we had beggies, the raviloi, burgers, steaks and the shrimp, all were very much enjoyed by everyone! I was very pleased with the experience and will be back very soon as a local."

"Found this restaurant due to a nice lady outside doing personal invitations for us to dine. Returned the next day to enjoy lunch and it was great. We were seated within a viewing area of the river below which added a lot of charm. Food was prepared well and had excellent taste. Waiter was very friendly as well. "It was a beautiful night, so we sat outside. The "no see ums" we could see and they were biting! It is in a great location for people watching. The appetizer, steamed mussels where EXCELLENT, and the crab cakes at the next table looked delicious. The rest of the meal was fair....waitress commented the chef was not in that night...soooo worth giving another try."

"Outstanding location, great feel... But that's the only thing good I can say about Belfords. The baked Brie was the only thing good we had. The fried calamari was very bland, with an overly smoky BBQ dipping sauce, the Ahi Tuna was clearly an outstanding cut of tuna, but the sesame encrusting was burnt, and there was no real flavoring given in a sauce. Overall the tuna just had no real flavoring, and was clearly an under developed dish. Next the strip steak... It was prepared correctly, the cut of meat good (could have been thicker) but lacked seasoning. The potato sides were extremely bland and soggy, and the asparagus was ok. The drinks were over priced, and they messed up our order so we had to wait a little longer than normal."

"We went to Belford's the first night of our vacation to Savannah and this ended up being my favorite meal of the week! The five girls I was with and myself tried fried green tomatoes at every restaurant we visited and by the end of the week, these were definitely the group favorite. Also the brie was phenomenal! We all raved about it and considered going back just for those two things. The rest of the meal was wonderful as well and I will definitely return to Belford's next time I visit Savannah."

"Wow! Great, great restaurant. We were in Savannah overnight and went to Belford's based on Open Table recommendations. They were all correct. First, they went out of their way to accomodate our requests -- including seating outside. What an awesome setting for dinner! It was a perfect evening. The restaurant is located on a pedestrian mall. If weasther permits, sit on their outdoor patio. Everyone from the hostess to the busboy to our waitress could not have been any nicer andmore accomodating. And the food was outstanding. As advertised, the crab cakes are very good. If you are even close to Savannah, go out of your way to dine at Belford's/"

"Service was very good however it took over ten minutes to get our cocktail order in and delivered after being seated. Had the shrimp, grits and collard greens and it came to the table cold but was quickly taken back for another for which my dining companion was halfway thru here meal by the time mine came back hot. Can't say for $26 it was worth it since there was very little shrimp on the plate. Great for outdoor dining. Would be a "one and done" restaurant for me.."

"With so many dining options in Savannah we chose Belford's because of the outside seating option and its proximity to our hotel. We arrived about an hour ahead of our reservation and they were very welcoming and able to seat us promptly. Derek was our server and was prepared to answer questions about the menu items and did not hesitate when we asked about the specials of the day. My wife had the Tilapia and I went with the filet and grilled shrimp. Both choices were outstanding and the service was great. We will definitely eat at Belford's the next time we're in Savannah."

"Fried green tomatoes were delicious. Crab cakes seemed filler-free and were great. The red rice that came with them was dry and tasteless. Don't waste the calories on it. Tasty warm bread with a flavored butter (fennel?) was delicious.

"Our meal at Belford's was great! We were seated immediately and our waitress immediately came to take our drink order. We decided to split the Fried Green Tomato appetizer and were not disappointed! The tomatoes were fried perfectly and the accompanying relish was delicious...I only wish there had been more of it! For our entrees, we decided on the Crab Cakes and the Lobster Ravioli with Shrimp and Scallops; both entrees had been designated "best entree" by Southern Living magazine. Each was delicious and was the perfect entree-size. Some may find the dinners a bit pricey (about $29.00 each), but the food was delicious and did not seem overpriced to us."

"We had Easter brunch at Belford's. Our reservation was for 11:00 a.m. and we arrived on time. The restaurant was not prepared for customers. They were still getting organized so we had to wait a few minutes. The waitress was slow and not particularly attentive. She said they had been very busy due to the spring break for kids and the Savannah Music Festival. One of our party wanted the pancakes but we were told they were out of them. Our food was quite good, however, so I would recommend the restaurant on that score."

"They did a GREAT job accomodating our kids (4 and 1.5 years old). We when spilled a glass of water our waitress was so wonderful and helped us clean it up. The food was great! I had the crab cakes (all meat, by the way) and they were so delicious. My husband had the filet and really enjoyed it as well. This is a definite "must go" to restaurant if you are visiting Savannah!!"
