Known for their astounding repertoire of fresh spring rolls and collective small plates, Three Seasons Restaurant has quickly become the dining experience of choice among those who know. Founders Chef Hung Le and Tessa Nguyen bring their concept of fresh premium ingredients combined with innovative food presentation to downtown Palo Alto. The result is an unprecedented and thoroughly addictive spin on traditional Vietnamese flavors. The flagship Three Seasons, in San Francisco's trendy Marina District, has earned the distinction as one of the most acclaimed Vietnamese restaurants in the Bay Area since its inception over three years ago.
"the savory dishes were quite tasty, but the dessert- fried bananas with coconut ice cream was subpar. The banana may have been fried a few hours or a few days before; it arrived at the table two minutes after ordering it at a tepid temperature- thus reheated and not very well. The ice cream was more ice than cream. The service was impersonal but correct with small lapses. They served a stew type dish in a bowl with lots of liquid and without... a spoon."

"I've been to Three Seasons several times. This time I took a friend who had never been. The delicious food (especially those garlic noodles and crab!) thrilled us both. This is one of my top three favorite restaurants in Palo Alto."

"This is our family's favorite place to meet to celebrate any occasion. This time six of us, plus an infant, ate there, family style. The food was very good. The catfish in a claypot was outstanding. Other dishes we especially liked included the garlic noodles, eggplant, green beans, sea bass, and tofu with peppers. The shaking beef we ordered a bit too well done."

"I came here the other night and really enjoyed it. It was hard for me to find because construction hid the restaurant which is tucked away in a courtyard away from the street. That was my only issue of the night. The decor and layout of the restaurant is beautiful, with a lounge setting below around the bar and more private dining above. The menu had a plethora of appetizers, which made our selection hard because everything sounded so delicious. The entrees were portioned just right and tasted great. I loved their cocktails, great combinations of alcohol with subtle hints of herbs and spices making for a tastey beverage; but my date who prefers sweeter drinks did not like hers. Overall a great experience, I will definitely dine here again."

"Love the mango beef, the eggplant, fresh spring rolls. Ive been here for dinner and lunch. Dinner can be very crowded and LOUD but lunch time is pleasant. The service is just right."

"None of the foot tasted fresh and there seemed to be canned friend onions on everything, The crab spring rolls had no crab, the chicken satay was like rawhide, the service was incredibly bad and the bill for 2 (and no drinks) was close to $100. Are you kidding me?"

"Everything is pretty much overpriced. Service was unattentive and unhelpful. Furthermore, there was a strange janitorial stench inside the restaurant."

"The food was great (we had the snapper, tamarind prawns and Japanese eggplant). The service felt a little rushed. The chairs were uncomfortable (too hard). Overall a nice place for a special occasion, perhaps a little overpriced."

"Our group of 9 was placed alone upstairs for lunch, which made the service slow. The food came out relatively quickly, but both before and after we found ourselves looking around for our server to place our order and then again for our check.
The restaurant itself is in an interesting building - we decided it must have been a ballroom at one point? - and is an lovely mix of old and new architecture.
The food was quite good and plentiful; the only issue I had is that the salmon was completely overcooked and I probably should have sent it back. The menu is a bit on the pricy side, but not out of proportion with the quality. We highly recommend the Shaking Beef, the Spicy Green Beans, and the Tamarind Prawns, which were all excellent."

"We enjoyed our meal very much. The Shaken Beef was superb, tender filet, perfect seasoning. And the fried rice was spectacular. It's a little pricey, but worth the extra."

"our group of 4 came early at 6pm before the crowd tho one of us was almost an hour late due to conflicts. i have to say that our waiter and the other service people were perfect, checking in at appropriate times, giving great info on the food and being there whenever we needed even as the restaurant got busier. Due to the tardiness of our final guest, we ended up staying over 3 hours and had a great time. Each dish was excellent including the cocktails and desserts. We loved the papaya salad and the calimari...the meat spring roll was a little too dry, but the spareribs were wonderful! the curry chicken was so flavorful as well as the garlic noodles and chilean sea bass! ginger creme brulee/choco banana roll - delish ending to the night!"

"This restaurant is running on status quo. The decor needs a solid minor update, a major cleaning. The sitting/dining chairs were awkward in shape, the bench was so long you could not sit back. The food was underwhelming, I could get better food from a food truck restaurant. By the time the second round of diner finished, (9:30pm) the staff was 'lazing around' literally sitting around the restaurant in various corners. Some were eating from a plate in their hand, and laughing with other co-workers.
It is time for this restaurant to fold up it's Asian fusion menu, and give it's assets to their bank."

"This was our second visit for dinner, and the food was--again--very good. My chicken salad was flavorful and fresh-tasting; at first it didn't seem to have much chicken, but then I found it in other pockets of the salad. The 2 different spring rolls were also delicious, although a tad messy to eat (which can't be helped!). My husband's catfish in a clay pot wa delicious. I enjoyed a Lotus cocktail, although it could have been served more chilled. My husband's herbaceous vodka cocktail had good flavor, but he thought it was on the weak side. Over all, we enjoyed the food very much and will return."

"Authentic Vietnamese. Very delicious. The physical space doesn't project the ambiance of SE Asia. In fact, it looks rather like an old dance hall. If you can overlook that, the food more than makes up for that small deficiency."

"I've been to this restaurant before - a few years ago =twice for business lunches and the food & service was very good. Our server had no personality and seemed tenative, he never came back to find out how our Prawns with Garlic Sauce was (overdone shrimp, btw) or the Claypot Catfish until we were nearly done with the first dish. The dishes were both delivered by a busboy, and the second one all but threw the dishes on the table as he passed by.
The seating on the upper level is odd, we were at a table against the railing with literally 3 feet between us and a padded wall used for storage - very claustrophobic."

"Food was great, but the service was REALLY slow. We ordered 4 dishes, and each came out separately over the course of 2 hours, with large gaps between. Would not recommend this place for a quick bite."
