"The food was amazing along with our wine selection and the service was incredible. The members of the staff were very prompt and friendly and were willing to accommodate anything. When we needed warm water for a bottle, it was immediately brought to us, no questions asked. Will recommend to others."

"This is a special occasion place for us. The food and service are always top drawer. On this night I ordered the special: Cracked lobster, filet mignon w/black truffle oil and the usual sides. The best meal I've enjoyed for 2013. Having said that, each time we eat here is a memorable occasion. My wife ordered the two course special and was equally sated and happy. We're already looking forward to our next visit."

"If you have not visited the Ringside recently (or at least since the remodel), make a reservation for dinner or stop by the bar for a classic cocktail. After nibbling on an order of onion rings, you can enjoy one of the famous steaks. In our case, the halibut was back on the menu and was delicious with an Asian spin on the presentation. I must say that the service was outstanding! Our server made the evening special with a great sense of humor and just the right amount of attention."

"We returned to The Ringside after a 30 year hiatus. It has added on and gotten even better. Our waiter, Les, was perfect. He was there when we needed him and not there when we were deep in conversation. We were catching up with friends we had not seen in 25 years, lots to talk about. However, we still managed a large order of the world's best onion rings, fabulous steaks, fish and Oregon Pinot Noir selected by Les. Oh, and let's not forget the creme brulee!! The price was not low but, 30 years later I can now afford to splurge on this Portland landmark. Although I live near Seattle, I'll be back, perhaps in 30 days instead of 30 years."

"RingSide was everything it's famous for. The food was superb. The steak and the prime rib were tender and juicy. And yes, James Beard was right - the onion rings are the best in the world. The waiter (Daniel) was extremely knowledgeable, explaining the various cuts of meat and their properties. He was very professional and very personable; he made us feel welcome and comfortable, as did all of the staff. The newly opened "barrel room" is a great place to eat. We went there for my birthday dinner. I'd love to go back anytime - RingSide makes it a special occasion."

"Even though we had a reservation, we had to wait nearly 15 min before being seated. Salad was so so with very sour balsamic vinegar dressing. Lobster bisque was nothing special. Sour dough buns and onion rings were delicious. Worst disappointment was the bone-in filet. At $69 I was expecting exquisite taste. Unfortunately it was a very thick cut and the majority of it was overdone though ordered medium. It tasted more like pot roast than a filet. Wine list is most impressive but overall I felt that it was way overpriced for the food and rather boring presentation. Take home boxes turned up without all the meat inside. Wow. Talk about disappointment."

"Scott was our waiter and he was exceptional. He was very knowledgeable about both the food and the extensive wine list. When the wine we were interested in turned out to be a bit on the young side, he found us a real gem; an Italian wine that was a real bargain, very similar in style to the one we first considered, and a great accompaniment to our meal (oh and did I mention that it tasted great). The steaks were exceptional, especially their Kobe beef filet, and the onion rings were equally delicious."

"The food at Ringside ranks far above any other steak house I've dined. The space is fairly cramped, and as a result tables are very close to each other. The service people are phenomenal. It's always a special evening when dining at the Ringside."

"We had excellent food and wine for our celebration dinner. I had a little sticker shock after purchasing a la carte sides and dessert. We ordered onion rings at the suggestion of our server and got a huge plate full which we did not eat. Another server at a different table talked about sizes of orders, so I think we were given a very large size. Our server Nancy was very knowledgeable and nice. We enjoyed the experience."
