The Loon River Cafe is critically acclaimed throughout the metro Detroit area. Open daily for breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch.
"They seemed to have a few beers available, the staff didn't bother to learn them. The decor and booths were run down. Service was less than stellar 7pm on a Saturday and couldn't get a particular appetizer for whatever reason. The Hungarian pork soup was great. It was like sipping stuffed cabbage and punched this Polish kids comfort button. The soup was almost as good as the real thing, if your gramma made it. Had the 10oz buffalo ribeye, cherry/pecan pilaf and seasoned veg and would totally order it again regardless of the $25 price tag. The upshot to the joint is they frequently hold wild game dinner nights with paired adult beverages. I intend to check one of those out. Overall, despite rare menu events, nothing special, but I'd go back."

"The menu stated the meal came with a salad or soup but was never offered or asked. We had three meals 1 was good the other portion was small ant last meal was ham and a lamb chop but did not get a lamb chop but slices of lamb half cooked and it looked like some left overs from there brunch and it was extremely tough and flavorless. We was very disappointed since it was out Easter dinner and hoped for a great meal."

"What a wonderful meal. The food was well-prepared and delicious. I'll have dreams about their lava cake. The service was top notch: helpful, timely, cordial."

"The food was decent but for the money I expected much more. I went on Valentines day for the nice atmosphere but it really wasn't anything special. The fire place would have made it 100X better but the fire place was broken. My girlfriend loves duck and we checked out the menu before hand and saw that they had a very nice looking duck dinner so we decided to go. Then they were out of duck... The food was good but noting special. For two meals two drinks and tip, the bill was well over $50 wich was way too much for an average dinner out."

"When my party arrived the hostess seem very un-organized and scattered. She did sit us in the bar area while she seemed to figure out where to seat us. The restaurant wasn't crowded and many tables were available, but seemed to be short staffed. Once we were seated we could tell that many customers were not happy and were complaining. We had great service and the food was very good, so overall a great time with good friends."
