"On May 10th I went to brunch with 4 girlfriends, we were the first ones in the restaurant. Four of us had drinks which were all delicious, three had sangria and I had the Tropical..something, It was delicious!
We orders masitas de puerco, a cuban sandwich, ropa vieja & 2 vaca fritas. I believe it was a manager who saw I wasn't happy with my order & came over to offer another dish (at no charge I might add).
Everyone in my group raved over the food. The service was incredible, management paying attention and taking charge of a situation definitely makes me want to go back & try again. Ambiance was great, a nice place for the 5 of us to have a boozy brunch and catch up."

"We have been coming to Amor Cubano for years and the food has always been wonderful. I highly reccomend the Paella Valencia. You can not go wrong stopping by Amor Cubano for dinner. The service is great !"

"I've been before...the noise level can make talking a challenge, but there is a back room which I didn't know existed. Service was great. We enjoyed our meal...shared garbanzos fritos...savory, cazuela de mariscos, ropa vieja and maduros. Were amused by the brief entertainment offered by five kimono clad Japanese ladies playing...the Sousa horn! and accordion among others. Then the Latin jazz combo...loud! But a fun evening."

"Very godo cuban food. We had Arroz con Pollo, which was very flavorful (never guaranteed!) and Enchilados de Camarones (not an enchilada in the Tex-Mex sense but shrimp in a spicy red sauce, delicious). Our son had a "Cuban hamburger" which he loved. Cocktails were inventive. Service was friendly, if a tiny bit scattered; it seems that the place is run by family or close friends. At six on a Saturday in Spring, the place has a laid-back, neighborhood-joint vibe and isn't too noisy, though I can imagine it would hop later in the evening with live music. A great find."

"We celebrated a birthday and notified them about it thru OT... and sure enough when it was time to bring out the cake the band sang Happy Birthday and made my friend feel very special. The food was delicious and the drinks were great. Would definitely come back even though its out of the way!"

"Amor Cubano is moving downhill in a hurry. We hsve been coming to here since it first opened and it used to be amazing on all counts. It had been several months since we had gone; however I found a deal on, so we have gone 2x in the past month. We have been so disappointed-especially with the food. As a Cuban myself, I was initially impressed by the homemade quality of the food. Now, it seems, they have turned to Goya for their sous chef. The croquettes had huge chunks of meat with a lot of grizzle (actually, Goya has better). The vaca frita tasted oily, dry and reheated. The sangria had this odd undertone. Like they started using cheaper brandy with questionable fruit. The servers were very friendly, but not good as they once were."

"My husband and I went on a Saturday to this small and cozy restaurant. Outside of the restuarant does not look appealing, but inside it is a very cute place. Food was delicious, churrasco and the lechon wer very tasty. You must try their sangria, it was very good. We used groupon. Waiters were dressed in summer dresses like in Cuba. We did not get to stay for the live entertainment. We are going back to this place."

"Very tasty Cuban cuisine in a very vibrant atmosphere. We sampled several appetizers and entres and all of the food was very good. Service was less then spectacular - dishes came out haphazardly, and the tip was added to the check, even though we were a party of 3, without anyone telling us - so we almost tipped twice."

"My boyfriend and I celebrated our Valentine's Day here and it was very romantic! I would recommend the guava mojito for drinks and grilled chicken breast with black bean sauce. It's seasoned well and tasty, they give just the right amount in portion. Music is loud but you can ask sit in the back where it is less nosy and more conversational!"

"One of the few authentic Cuban food restaurants in all of NYC. Many claim to be, but this is the real deal matched with a great atmosphere. The food is great. A very dependable and consistent kitchen makes the place very comforting in that you know that you will have a great and authentic meal when you eat at Amor Cubano. The service is also usually great as well, but the person who served us this time around seemed either tired or grumpy for some reason. That said, she was not horrible. It was a long Valentine's Day, so she was likely very tired. Other than that, this place is a real NYC gem... really. By the way, I am Cuban, so this is a very qualified review. ;-"

"This restaurant started out very well but had a backslide. The food is still good but no longer great and the service has gotten worse. The prices are high for Cuban food but would've been tolerable given a commensurate level of service. I hope they will regain the magic they had when they first opened."

"We went here for Valentine's Day Dinner. It is certainly off the beaten tourist path in Spanish Harlem but still a quick cab ride. From the moment we walked in and sat at our rose petal covered table we were surrounded by "love". The musicians sang for each table, the waitress shared her love stories, asked about ours. Oh, BTW, the food was excellent! It noisy, boisterous, and a refreshing experience!"

"Amor Cubano is really neighborhood gem with good food and good music. The restaurant is on the smaller side so reservations are definitely recommended. We sat in the back room which was a little chilly but very quite. I had the skirt steak and it was delicious. My mom had a pork dish which she raved about. Overall, a really good find in the neighborhood."
