Kefi
Chef Michael Psilakis and partner Donatella Arpaia have moved their rustic Greek gem, Kefi, to a larger space at 505 Columbus Avenue. The new, 200-seat interior evokes the feeling of a palatial Greek hideaway broken up into several smaller dining rooms to keep Kefi’s intimate appeal.
The menu of favorites straight from Psilakis’ childhood will remain the same with some new additions. Signature dishes like Baccala, crispy-fried cod with garlic potatoes and tomato, Grilled Octopus with bean salad, and Hilopita, baked pasta with rabbit ragout and béchamel are still on offer. Additions include Grilled Sardines with chopped “Greek Salad” and garlic sauce, Macaronia Spestofai, tubular pasta with Greek sausage, peppers, onions, tomato and feta and an entirely new section of Greek Sandwiches featuring house-made sausages and pork and lamb gyro.

"Just the day before night of my reservation, I got a phone call that the restaurant got a pipe problem, so they are going to be closed for next few days. Then they recommend me to visit another their group restaurant and mentioned that I had a reservation at Kafi, then they will take special care of us (reservation people was 3). we expected Restaurant week lunch, so I specially asked if that recommended restaurant have Restaurant week lunch, then they said "they have".So we decided to go that recommended restaurant next day. However, once we arrived at there on my original reservation time, they said that there are no enough sheet in the dining. And also, they did not have lunch menu for restaurant week, but have normal prefix lunch menu"

"I have come to Kefi for dinner many times, and this was the first time to try brunch.
Their brunch menu is actually not big, but you will still find regular brunch menu such as pancake and french toast. I wish they had brunch special with coffee or a glass of mimosa/sangria. The french toast I had was nothing outstanding, but I still like their atmosphere and service here.
I made a reservation at 11:30, but it was empty. It started getting crowded around 1pm, and it was almost full.
I won't come back for brunch anymore, but def for dinner."

"We went to Kefi for the first time because it was in close proximity to our last meeting of the day and it has been on our "try it" list for awhile. It happened to be restaurant week but we ordered off the menu because two of our tablemates are light eaters. The food was great and interesting at a good price point. We don't live in the neighborhood but it would be a regular spot for us now if we did. Will definitely return when the opportunity arises.
We sat downstairs which was a blessing because it was much less noisy. If you want to have an intimate conversation, ask to be seated downstairs.
The manager was incredibly friendly and attentive. We felt like VIPs."

"Had an early Dinner on a Sunday night before the crowd and were served with great food and great service. Brandon was excellent at guiding us through the selections and making recommendations. There were a few menu items sold out by 6PM but otherwise it was a perfect meal."
