Lazia Restaurant - North Edmonton
Lazia features a Canadian take on World Cuisine. Using different techniques, flavours and styles from the different parts of the globe it is common to see the world come together on a plate. For example, try our Tandoori Basa Whitefish. It combines a tropical fruit salsa, with a Jamaican tandoori basa fillet, Japanese rice and a French/East Indian Kahlua cream curry sauce.
Combining the culinary artistry of our Team Canada Gold medalist chefs, Lazia brings exciting flavours and show pieces that will be unlike anything you've ever seen!
We offer a business casual atmosphere with plenty of private booths for quiet meetings or romantic dinners. If you are part of a large group we have an upstairs mezzanine that can accommodate parties of up to 30 people on the right side, or 25 people on the left side.

"Went there for mothers day brunch last Sunday. We waited for just about 2 hours for our food. The table that was sat just before us (not even a minute) had eaten and gone before we got our food. The eggs benedict was cold and there was little to no hollandaise, what was there was dried up. I don't know what they are like on regular days, but overall it was pretty bad. We kept our spirits up, for my moms sake, but I won't be going there ever again."

"Food was good and the service was very good. Nice gals at the front door, the lounge bar and finaly in the dining room. It was quite loud in the dining area where we were seated due to a large table right beside us. We asked to be moved and they accomodated us immediatley without question."

"Lazia is my favorite "high end" restaurant without the "high end" prices. Love the seating arrangement; privacy without seclusion.
Service is always good .The food is unique, tasty and well presented. The noise level is conducive to good conversation. I have recommended Lazia to many of my friends and they have been very happy with their dining experience.
Concerning that this was Mother's Day, the busiest day of the year, Lazia staff were exceptional!!!"

We reminded her to bring it, commenting it might no longer be hot. When it did arrive it was not cold but my wife didn't like how it tasted and sent it back. The food service was also slow, but more problematic was that my sandwich was quite tasteless and my wife's meal bland. A baby in the next booth screamed in my wife's ear for most of the meal, and overall it was not a good experience.

"Very disapointed this time around. Frequent diners at the downtown location, occasional diners at the North end location. The food was of average quality. The dining room server was friendly and reasonably attentive but the issue a was the wait time. Our meals arrived an hour and fifteen minutes after we arrived. The server appoligised repeatedly for the wait time, citing a mix up in the kitchen, still the food took 30 minutes after the first apology. Eventually my wife had to leave without finishing her meal as our childs patience ran out. There was never an acknowlegment by the manager, no attempt to rectify the situation, and we were charged full freight for our meal. Very disapointing."

"The waitress that served us was very pleasant and helpful in terms of picking from the menu. She really added to the great experience we had. One of us had the salmon and it was cooked perfectly. The other person had the whitefish and again, it was great. Presentation was great and our sides (rice and potatoes with Dijon) were tasty and the vegetables that accompanied the meal were perfectly cooked. Very nice dinner."

"We were a group of four, everyone ordered something different and we all enjoyed our meals very much. We started with appetizers - sharing ginger beef and the new steamed pork buns. The ginger beef was excellent as always. The steamed pork buns were unusual (build your own) and really delicious. For our mains we had the Chow Mein, the Braised Short Rib, the Oven Roasted Chicken and the Chicken Confit and Duck Rice Bowl. All were excellent - large portions, very tasty and we all had plenty to take home. I highly recommend the Chicken Confit - limited time special menu item. My son and his girlfriend shared the warm butter cake and berries for dessert. Very nice - light spongy cake, not too sweet, and the berry compote kept it light"

"Lazia tries to fool you into thinking their food is good with fancy plating. Nothing we had was fresh, all cooked from frozen. I saw a staff member, on a break, having a meal at the bar. Decor is dated and loud dance music ruins the atmosphere.

"I would like to thank the chef and commend his appetizer sample. I was at the restaurant with two other girl friends, we ordered and were served our drinks. We did not order appetizers however our waitress came out with a sampler and told us it was compliments of the chef. What a nice gesture and the maple glazed salmon over a cucumber, mango salsa was delicious! It's an excellent way to promote the restaurant as we were all impressed and then we tell two friends and then they tell two friends and so on.

"We have been to the Lazia Downtown location many times, and always enjoyed the dinner, atmosphere and service, so we thought we'd try out the North West location as it's closer to our home. We were extremely disappointed. Service was slow, and clumsy. For example, my other half had a beef dish which required a steak knife. We asked our server for one....waited....waited some more....finally got the attention of another staff person and had to ask for one. Waiting to eat your meal once it's delivered is not fun. Desert, once ordered, took more than 15 minutes to come to the table. Food, although descriptions sounded wonderful, was really a let down as well, not to mention, it wasn't very hot."

"There were actually 8 people in our party and we all had good meals expect one person did not enjoy their meal. We need feel a little squished in but we made it work. I have been there several times and always enjoy my food. We did mention in our reservation that it was 2 people's birthdays in our group and we did not have anyone mention it or offer anything even though there was birthday cards all over the table. Next time I could see us trying a different restaurant."

"Overall we enjoyed the restaurant. The food was great, but the set menu for Valentine's Day was a bit of a surprise. While we enjoyed the menu and thought the chef did a fantastic job in creating the various dishes, there were some younger couples that had a bit of a sticker shock when they saw the $50/person cost. Not the $100 is an outrageous amount for a nice dinner... but more notice would be good."

"We went to Lazia for Valentines day and it really wasn't what I had expected. They had TSN playing on all the TVs, the food was just alright, the server hardly came around and it costed the same as 5 star dining.I will not be back."

"been here 2x now and both times we loved it and will keep going back. The steak was done to perfection just the way we love it. Staff was so friendly and ready to help but not always in your face like some other places. The desserts were omg to die for. I would give it three thumbs up if I had a third thumb to use."

"We had a great server during our time at the restaurant, however, service was a little slow. It took 25 minutes just to get ice cream and an apple pie and a while to get our bills.
Mind you, it was busy, but still, I thought I would bring that to your attention. I don't remember who our server was but, otherwise everything else was good."

"Overall Very Good Restaurant. Our waitress showed signs of being new but she handled it well. I think they were busier than they expected and may have been stretched a little thin. I have the steak special which included an 8oz Sirloin with Brocolli and Carrots. It also comes with a potato dish but I skipped that. The special comes with a side as well. I had the Caesar Salad. My wife had the Butter Chicken with Caesar and truly enjoyed it. A real find was the Parmesean Cheese Fries. Sounds simple but was very good."

"The service was terrible. Waitress didn't answer questions, doesn't know the menu, didn't know how 2 meal deal for 20 bucks works, and finally brought the wrong receipt. If we come there again (which probably won't happen) we'll ask different waitress for sure."
