Hannah’s off the Square is a casual fine dining restaurant nestled in the heart of Denton.
Established in 2001, Hannah’s was originally located at 209 W. Hickory St. with a quaint 40 seat dining room. Hannah’s moved to its current location at 111 W. Mulberry St in July of 2004 and boasts five unique dining areas. A lounge with bar seating, a 50 seat private function room, two main dining areas and a beautiful outdoor courtyard provide an inviting and comfortable atmosphere in which to enjoy food and wine that match the eclectic spirit of Denton, Texas.
The culinary expertise of Chef Sheena Croft, a vast and diverse selection of wines and attentive service makes Hannah’s off the Square a memorable dining experience for every occasion.

"Again, this was a big win for us. It is wonderful to be able to enjoy such a wonderful experience without having to drive all the way into Dallas. The food was excellent, again. Our server, Trudy, was most gracious in helping us celebrate Mother's Day. Her attentiveness to our table was perfect. The brunch menu was great. The Migas, and the Huevos Rancheros were excellently flavored, with fresh cut veggies and meats, and my 6 year old loved the pancakes! The deserts were outstanding as well. I can see why their Carrot Cake has won best desert in Denton for the last 7 years. And I am not a fan of carrot cake, but this was amazing! You cannot go wrong when you visit Hannah's!"

"I was impressed with the decor, the moment I walked in. The quiet atmosphere and space between tables was reassuring. Was greeted immediately and taken straight to table,being a party of 6, was pleased with the section we were seated in. Our server was right there with all specials and ready to help with wine/drinks. From the appetizers to the desserts, the food was nicely presented. The shrimp and grits appetizer was a real hit. From the duck entree to the salmon and trout all our entrees were served hot and were delicious. None of my quests had a complaint. I look forward to visiting Hannah's Off The Square again and would highly recommend it."

"This restaurant actually prepares gourmet food. The food is consistently tasty, very fresh, and sooo good. The brunch is AMAZING, and the many mimosa varieties are great ina nice day. I'm a food snob, and I really enjoy the food, service, and the ambience. I DEFINITELY suggest this restaurant."

"Did the Sunday brunch with 5 friends. We sat on the patio and had a great time. Can say enough about it. The food was great. It is obvious the chef takes great pride in the quality of his dishes and the presentation was exceptional. This was a great deal and will definitely be returning. The pimento cheese biscuits were a unique appetizer."

"I asked several of my customer's to join me for a dinner at Hannah's. I have been to Hannah's several times before. My customers have not been before. I was able to have our business meeting and a perfect meal. Ross was our waiter and did a great job. The flavored tea is always a big hit. We all enjoyed different meal selections and each one was prepared perfectly. I am grateful to have this wonderful spot in Denton, TX. Bravo and I will be back with more new people to share the experience at Hannah's off the SQ."

"Every time we go to Hannah's we end up with a new favorite dish, because its the best we've had anywhere. Last time, I had the best lamb chops I've ever had. This time, we had the best scallops of any place we've tried (and we've been to many, across the states). We tried the fresh squeezed margaritas, and wow was that good. We also tried the 'black pearl' martini, which has basil in it, super unique and surprisingly good."

"We had Sunday brunch and they have a really nice selection of food options - very creative. They also have some nice mimosa choices, including pineapple. I had the smoked salmon platter which was delicious (I even got a gluten-free roll). They are quite strict with the liquor laws and while in Texas one can let one's child (my son is 17.5) drink alcohol when they are with a parent, this restaurant would not."

"We live in Denton, but haven't gone to Hannah's very often in the past. Most places in Denton don't take reservations so we forget that Hannah's seems to require them. Several times we've tried to go there and they are fairly direct and almost rude in telling us if we don't have a reservation then they won't be able to seat us. We do however use open table all the time for Dallas dining, as well as when we're traveling. Now that we've realized they use open table, we will probably be dining at Hannah's more often, and look forward to it!"

"This was a very special night for my wife and I. This was a perfect meal, perfect service, and a great experience. The food we had stands up to Bones Chop House (Atlanta), Spago, Granita, and many others I have been fortunate enough to dine at in my life. Based on the reviews it looked like it would be good. But if far exceeded our expectations. The Tenderloin Au Poivre, Napoleon style was amazing. The Pork Osso Buco on Risotto was as well. I've spent all week recommending this to my friends and co-workers."

"Relatively speaking, Hannah's has one of the better higher end restaurant experiences in Denton. If you know anything about an eclectic menu, wine and cocktail menu matched with great flavors, then Hannah's will not be all too impressive. I have been here about 5 times and each time I am disappointed by the flavor combinations. For the prices (around 12 for appetizers and 20 for entrees), this is always upsetting. They do redeem themselves when it come to brunch-- certainly one of the best in town. The lower prices (around 12 each) make it worth the experience. The service has always been wonderful, too."

"Totally outstanding experience. Chef specials should not be overlooked but menu is well appointed with a matching wine list. Seating was in the group party room but fortunately the group didn't arrive until late. Best up scale dining in Denton."

"We arrived for our 5:45pm reservation on Valentines Day, and the parking lot was full. My wife has a bad hip and walking from across the street at the bank parking lot was not pleasant. We were taken to our table right away, but sat for 25 min until our order was taken. Then we waited an hour and 10 min before being served our meal. The place wasn't that full where our table was in the back , and the help was mostly standing around, so I guess it was trouble was in the kitchen getting the meal out.
We thought we'd eat in Denton early instead of going to Dallas so we wouldn't have the drive. But, we will go back to Dallas area because the parking is better and we have never waited over an hour for our food to be served"

"Everything was absolutely amazing! Hands-down best food I've had! All the food is very fresh. I went for brunch with my sweetie and had the best french toast either of us ever had :) They have a variety of flavors for mimosa's. I think we tried them all between the 2 of us. We also had perfectly cooked fried-green tomatoes. And migas and a burger! No we couldn't eat it all there but we had fantastic left overs the next day :) We would encourage everyone to eat at Hannah's!"

"The meal and service at Hannah were magnificent. Our server was knowledgeable about wines and helped us select a perfect wine to complement our dinner. The sea scallops with risotto was excellent. I often shy away from risotto because it tends to be overcooked, but this was perfect. The hazelnut tart with pistachio ice cream made was most wonderful!"

"While the menu offerings, wine list, and prices seem to set expectations for a five star restaurant experience, one has to wonder who tastes the food at Hannah's. To describe a few dishes, the Truffle Pomme Frites appetizer came as a generous portion, but was way too salty for a dish that should be showcasing delicate flavors. The Bernaise Trout special that evening was too light for an entree portion, (it was served alone) and had a vinegary flavor that overwhelmed the fish. The Rosemary Smoked Duck (regular menu item) was the best choice, but the plate was unbalanced, in that, three thick herb pancakes comprised most of the dish, and they were kind of gluey. Dollar sized pancakes would have made it a better dish."

"Pleasantly surprised with the quality and attention to detail.
The restaurant scores high marks in all areas. I picked this place to
treat two of my friends who live in Denton to a going away lunch.
It was a perfect choice. Both my guests raved about everythig too.
My eggs Benedict was the best I've had in a long time. Aubree our
server was very good at her job. Knowledgable, friendly, and most
importantly unobtrusive. She could have easily passed muster in
any fine dining restaurant in Downtown. I myself am a manager of a
fine dining restaurant in uptown Dallas and would hire her in a second
after experiencing her service."

"I had the pork belly sandwich and it just tasted bad. My mother had a crawfish pot pie and it was so salty she couldn't eat it. The server and manager were apologetic. I'd been to Hannah's once before but it was late in the afternoon and the kitchen had run out of several popular items, so I just ordered a burger, which was delicious. The staff is friendly but not very knowledgable about their menu items. If I return here, I will only be ordering a cheeseburger."
