"Loved my experience. Beautiful setting with ground-level view of neighboring skyscapers. Tried and loved the pork belly and the lobster risotto for the table...deelish! The tenderloin was tender and juicy. The striped bass was crispy with the best tasting delightful mix of colorful vegetables. Pork chop was big so I finished it the next day for lunch...so good! Service was super attentive and I'm definitely going back. Limited selection for good desserts so don't save yourself. Get another pork belly instead."

"I visited Cafe Pinot twice in the past week, and loved it both times. The wine list was excellent, the food superb, and the ambiance was the right mixture of casual and elegant. It is one of the few gems of a restaurant in downtown LA that offers such dining. Always a pleasure to visit Cafe Pinot."

"The outdoor area is beautiful overlooking the library, however, area residents let their dogs go on the lawn which is not a great view while dining. The staff is friendly and helpful. Water glasses are refilled promptly as well as the bread basket. Two of us had the dorade which was very tasty. I wish they had a little more variety with the appetizers but everything we had was well cooked, flavorful and delicious"

"We went to Cafe Pinot before the Taper and loved our experience. Service and ambience were wonderful. My husband's steak and our friend's chicken were good and ample. Bad news is that the fish and carefully composed endive salad portions were delis but tiny. Good news is that I actually lost a whole pound the next morning - this is first after going to a fine restaurant. The shuttle to and from the Taper was very prompt. I will definitely go back especially when i am on a diet."

Allowing our own wine without corkage made it a very reasonable way to enjoy gourmet food. my wife and I had the pork chop and sea bass entre's at the recommendation of the waiter, loved them each to our own, and they got us out in time for the shuttle to the music center in spite of traffic putting us a half hour behind our plan. All and all more than we hoped for."

"I couldn't have been treated better than I was Friday night at Cafe Pinot. I was eating by myself: usually an immediate target for poor and slow service. Instead, the wait staff was very attentive, making wonderful recommendations and witty reparte between courses. When space was appropriate to let me eat or reflect, I was left be, but always checked on discreetly. By the end, my server Jorge was also chatting with me briefly about my conference and providing me with a lovely treat for the road, while still providing the same level of service to his other table, as well. Great food, great space, and great service: what more could I have asked for?"

"This was a sub par experience. Server was missing in action for most of the evening. Food was described inaccurately, so we ended up getting dishes we didn't want. Due to time constraint (we had a show to get to), we didn't send anything back. It was nice that bread basket has 3 choices, but the bread did not seem very fresh. This was probably our 5th visit here and will likely be our last. It's a shame about the food and the service because the restaurant is really lovely, particularly when the lights are on outside in the garden. As others have noticed, corkage is free."

"Service and restaurant are lovely. The music was turned up so loud that we asked for it to be lowered and they did lower the volume. Our appetizers were beautiful and tasty. My main course was overcooked and dry but the other was very good. When we ordered coffee, the hostess came to ask how everything was. We told her and to make up for the dissappointing dinner she offered us dessert on the house. We are not sure if we will return."

"Great for dining before Disney Hall concert. Service from GMs/hosts to wait staff could not have been better. Had the rotisserie chicken and it was NOT as moist as it could have been, but sauce was great. Cheese selection was good. Staff really knows their stuff and get you out the door with plenty of time and clear timelines for using the shuttles."

"It was fine for our early pre-theater dinner. We were celebrating a birthday, but service was a little slow, so they told us to come back after the show for the birthday desert. When we got back, the restaurant was closed and the valet gave us our car keys. The food was OK, and the price was reasonable considering the location. It was nothing to rave about. We will probably return when we go to the theater again. That's about all I can say."

"I have visited this restaurant several times before and I must admit, they have an impeccable quality of service. On my recent visit Carlos was fantastic! He was very knowledgeable of the menu and had plenty of recommendations. Mr. Thibaud Duccini the restaurant manager on duty was Terrific!! He greeted my party and I at the door and enlivened our dinner. My wife fall in love with his french accent. I have decided to never take her to this restaurant again, but I will continue to visit LOL."

"I lived in Echo Park as a youngster decades ago and spent much time at the public library. It is always a thrill to return to downtown and find it so much improved.
