"We arrived telling the waiter we were in a hurry and he accomodated by taking our order immediately. Ten minutes later a couple sat down next to us and ordered there food. There food arrived twenty minutes later. (same exact entrees). Our food arrived 20 minutes after theirs. Very annoying and disappointing."

"You'd be hard pressed to have a better dining experience at Disneyland. Innovative menus are the hallmark of this chain and Catal is a great example. Outstanding wine list with heavy focus on California with several well priced bargains. Well trained and focused wait staff. We ended up in the small front room with several families. It was bit noisy and ask if we could move to the main dining room. The answer was, no problem. Being on Open Table is a great assist considering most of the restuarants at the resort don't take reservations or you need to go thru Disney resorts to get one. Being pressed for time with vacationers makes Open Table even more valuable."

"Menu is continually updated with new dishes. This is the hidden gem in Downtown Disney, outstanding food, reasonable pricing, no corkage fee and excellent service, a totally different experience from the other tourist orientated restaurants in the area. This a a return to place for a relaxed, high quality dinner, in a fun atmosphere. Eat inside if you don't want to hear the music of DTD. Or on the balcony and watch the people below walking aroudn and listen to the music. Highly recommended, one of the best of the Patina group of restaurants."

"Great new dinner menu. The scallops are excellent. Can't wait to try more items. Best place to view the Disneyland fireworks from Downtown Disney on the second floor terrace. The Manchego salad with arugula, apples, dates and walnuts is always a winner. Great servers and welcoming staff."

"This place is set up for greatness, unfortunately the service and food do not hold up. From the greeter - all 3 of them - to the waiter - who did know their signature white wine was French, not Italian, the service did not match this great space. We had to ask for an ice bucket to chill our wine and then we had to but it in ourselves. Food was good but overpriced for the portions (except the garlic fries which were huge). I hope the manager steps up and manages this place to the level it deserves. Oh, the only bright spot were the bus boys who cleaned the table efficiently. No wonder it was empty on a Saturday night."

"Had dinner on the outdoor patio upstairs. The food was great and the service was OK. Our server never came back to check on us, refill water, refill bread, confirm all orders arrived (which one of the four did not), etc. We depended on other servers to take care of us which they did very well. So except for our server, the experience was great. We ate late, 7:45 PM reservation, were seated immediately and had a fabulous view of the 9:30 PM Disney fireworks, which was an unexpected treat! Would definitely dine here again."

"The menu selection has gone downhill over the past few years. This used to be the one bright spot among the restaurants in Downtown Disney. We ate there often with our young daughter, often sitting on the outside patio to watch the Disney fireworks. We even had several office Holiday parties there. The menu used to feature a few unusual dishes & there were always one or two daily specials. It seems like Catal is now just "average" amongst a host of average restaurants in Downtown Disney. For a better dining experience, take the short walk or car ride to the Garden Walk where you can enjoy Roys, P F Changs & others."

"This was a very LOUD restaurant. We were hoping it would be a little more romantic, but really not the case. Parking was not great since you have to fight the traffic of Downtown Disney. Probably a good place to eat if you are already going to be going to house of blues for a concert or downtown disney to people watch. Tapas were decent though."

"We typically love Catal Restaurant; so much that it was our primary reason for spending Valentines Day in downtown Disney (driving from Phoenix to do so). However, we were seated at a tiny table wedged between other ciuples so close we could hear their every word and as such felt reluctant to hold any romantic conversation of our own. And while the Valentines menu was lovely, we eere disappointed not to have been given at least the option I of ordering from the regular menu. The noise, poor seating for couples, and limited menu made this a disappointing Valentine trip."

"We were a group of six colleagues for dinner. For the most part, the food was very good, but the service was honestly terrible.
Our waitress took our drink orders promptly, but then almost entirely disappeared. We were seated for almost an hour before our bread arrived and our food orders were taken. Several parties around us were receiving much more prompt service, and they were served long before we were despite having been seated later.
Although the food was good, I don't think I would go to Catal again based on the service."

"The hidden gem of Downtown Disney. Not a tourist restaurant, this is the real deal and more upscale. The restaurant is upstairs, on the balcony you can overlook Downtown Disney, but have the noise to deal with, inside it is quiet and elegant. The menu selections are excellent and the preparations excellent. The wine list is very good and their "no corkage" policy is an attraction to return, return, return. But, take a good wine that pairs well with food. Service is attentive without being over the shoulder. We go there whenever in the area, not for Disney, but for the outstanding food and you get 3 hours of free parking as well. Highly recommended"

"I guess big and fake is what one should expect at anything Disney and hoping for some sort of authentic Catalan tapas experience was foolish. We were going to a concert at House of Blues and this looked like the best prospect for decent food while trapped at Downtown Disney. Well, $80 later for very non-authentic food (for 2 without alcohol) in a too-large restaurant with very average service only confirmed the dread I had at having to spend time anywhere associated with the "Happiest Place on Earth"."

"Went for an anniversary with my SO. Food was delicious, server very informative if not always attentive, atmosphere/ambiance were amazing. IMO this is the best restaurant in Downtown Disney, esp. for a classy dinner. I would advise starting with some tapas. The Frites were delicious, and while I thought the calamari stuffed with duck sausage was more bland than it sounded my SO loved it (she has a more sophisticated pallet than I do). We split the hand rolled cavatelli pasta with braised lamb which was amazing. Beer and wine list were a plus, even the NA drinks were good. Tad pricey, but good deal considering how expensive Disney is in general."

"A highlight - and always looked forward respite from - each trip to Disneyland.
Super big meals, so we usually go for a good bottle of wine, some salads and the cheese/charcuterie plates. yummy!"

"The waiter was one of the best we have ever had. We were very disappointed though that at 7:00 pm Friday that they were out of their well known advertised house specialty, their prime rib. We purposely went their just for that. The other choices were good but just not the same."
