"This chef is one of the best. The ambiance was great. Even though many patrons were dining, the noise level was low. I am happy their steak is staying on the menu year round! The tofu dish was awesome. The panna cotta dessert was unique and hit the spot. Love this restaurant! Wish there was one in Mpls."

"We specifically requested a special table for our 10th wedding anniversary dinner when we made the reservation. However, when we arrived we had to wait ten or fifteen minutes and then were led to a table in the middle of the room; all diners faced us. Instead of having a private dining experience we were the table the other tables watched. The food was only fine - the meat, as others have noted, was above average but the sides were uninspired and, in the case of the lamb's sides of mushrooms and peas, not good. Our waiter was rushed with us, and almost condescending. The desserts were frankly bad. The chocolate mousse was overly salty, the "display of lemon" left us wondering where the lemon was hiding."

"The Tree Room is consistent with delivering a five star plus experience. The chef has an amazing talent at pairing entrees with complimentary sides that will delight and intrigue your taste buds! The ambiance is serene and relaxing with an upscale rustic flair. The wine pairing options are delightful and the staff is over-accommodating (especially Amy). The Tree Room is always an unforgettable experience that is well worth the drive and the money!"

"Considering the location, you expect it to be far more beautiful, but once inside it's like a log cabin. The food was simply okay and definitely not worth the price. There are far better places for scenery and great food at a fraction of the price."

"As always, a great dining experience. Mildly disappointed with the portions of the scallop appetizer and tomato salad. Would order the pepper steak next time over the buffalo, loved the rack of lamb. Don't think by this critique that we were disappointed in the least. Quite the contrary, but a critique is meant to tweak what we already love. Service remains the best."

"The food and atmosphere were excellent. But, somewhat spoiled by the sense of urgency to the service and the overall pacing of the meal. The courses came out very quickly, one after the other, with no pause for conversation or reflection. The bill was presented immediately after the desert was cleared. No one asked us if we wanted coffee or tea. At these very high prices, one expects a leisurely, enjoyable dining experience. Instead, we were in and out in less than one hour. The overall goal seemed to be to turn the table as quickly as possible, even though the place was only half full. We will not be back nor will we recommend the Tree Room to friends."

"Located in a beautiful area; restaurant has a warm, cabin-like feel. The food is excellent although very, expensive. A strange choice for a complimentary appetizer was steak tartar. The flavor was good, but not everyone is a fan of raw meat before dinner (or anytime). We tried the Salmon and the Pepper Steak. Both were delicious and highly recommended. Service was excellent and everyone was very attentive despite the fact that we did not order anything but entrees."

"The food here is fantastic. My wife and I are always commenting on how we have a very hard time finding food in the states that matches some of the places we frequented while living in New Zealand. "Took my wife to the Tree Room for Valentines. It had been moved to another part of the area from what I had remembered. The old Tree Room is now a grill. food was presented in a very artful way and the flavors were incredible. I had the pepper steak and my wife had the salmon. The steak was one of the best I have ever eaten. The Sundance rolls with sunflower seeds and other goodies are very addicting, my wife ended up taking some home with her. What a great time! The highlight of the evening was to hear a very particular voice.....that of Robert Redford himself.
Not only was the food and atmosphere incredible, but the whole experience was very excellent."
