"We are Opus regulars and always have a wonderful experience, but this time in particular we had an exceptional time. The food was cooked to perfection. We ordered the oysters for an appetizer, for our entrees we ordered the braised short ribs with carrots and mashed potatoes, and meatloaf with mixed vegetables and mashed potatoes and to top it all off the tiramisu for dessert. Enough about the food. The reason we come to the Opus is because of the food but most of all the service, David, our waiter is always on top of his game. We ask for him every time we dine at the restaurant. We enjoy the conversation and professionalism mixed in with a ton of laughter and truly feel that David makes the occasion. OPUS 9 should be on everyone's radar."

"We're Williamsburg residents, and Opus 9 has long been one of our favorite places. Tourists seem to have discovered it too, so a reservation is usually needed, even at lunch. Recently we celebrated my husband's birthday at dinner there. Service was excellent as usual, attentive but not obtrusive. We shared a salad and each had a fillet with baked potato - delicious! There is an excellent selection of wines by the glass. At the end of dinner Opus 9 presented us with a complimentary birthday cupcake with candle (big enough for two to share), and we had after-dinner coffee served in a french press. Altogether a lovely occasion. Thank you Opus 9."

"We celebrated our 13th anniversary at Opus 9, and enjoyed it very much. The cuts of meat were very good and the sauces appropriate and enhancing.
I take off a point or two for
1) The version of medium rare was somewhat more cooked than the detailed menu description led us to believe... not enough to be medium but definitely less pink than expected.
2) The Ahi Tuna appetizer and the Cheesecake dessert were both quite tasty but not the best we had. Since we normally frequent less expensive restaurants, we expected more.

"I called to change my reservations since my wife was not feeling well on our original date. I mentioned in passing that it was her birthday so I wanted to change the reservation which the hostess did with no issue. When we arrived the next day we were greeted and my wife was told happy birthday! There was also a card at the table for her birthday and when the server arrived she too addressed my wife by name and told her happy birthday! The food was amazing and the service was outstanding. At the end of the meal a cupcake with a candle in it arrived which surprised both of us. Their attention to detail and care of the customer is something that I have not experienced in many years. An absolute outstanding dining experience!!!"

"The atmosphere and ambiance is enjoyable, service is good, food is good, but overall I find this restaurant to be overpriced for what they offer. We found the filet mignon to be the best out of the other steaks our group had. We tried the steak diane, prime rib, and cowboy steak also. Prime rib was a bit chewy. Other steaks weren't "anything to write home about" (as they say). At the price of the meal, they should, at a minimum, provide a salad with the meal."

"This wasn't a great visit to Opus 9. We were seated within 5 min of our arrival. The food was OK - nothing special. Our waiter spent most of his time caring for two four top tables in another room. We had to wait for a second cup of coffee to be poured. Our meals came quickly, were served hot, but we've had better for less of a cost at another New Town restaurant. It was a post Mother's Day treat that was mediocre."

"We went the day before Mother's day. We were seated right away even though it was very busy. Our waiter Al came over in the first couple of minutes to ask if we'd like to order a drink, which we did. Some of the dishes we ordered were the scallop appetizer (very good), hamburger (very good), salmon (very dry), filet (excellent), and sea bass (good). We ordered a couple slices of key lime pie for the table and they were very good, not too sweet. The cappuccino was awesome. Our waiter was great. He was there when we needed something but never intrusive, and he was very knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. Something is missing regarding atmosphere, Maybe not enough windows. It's pretty enough. Would definitely return."

"I stumbled across this restaurant on the Internet when I was booking a weekend get away for my husband and I for our anniversary. What a find. My husband and I had such a wonderful meal. The waiter, David, was fantastic his recommendations were spot on. We really enjoyed the fact that once he brought our drinks to us that he allowed us some time to enjoy them before placing our order. We have gone to a pricey restaurant before and they rushed us through our meal it was hard to enjoy it. But not here, for the amount of money that you are paying for an excellent meal you want to be able to sit back and enjoy the experience. If we should ever find ourselves back down in the area, I will definitely come back!!!!!!!!!"

"We were warmly greeted by the hostess and seated promptly. Our server, John, was very nice and his personal vitality enhanced our dining experience. The prime rib was cooked to perfection (medium rare). The wine list is quite extensive and reasonably priced. The only thing better than the food was the service !! We will definitely return to Opus 9 the next time we are in the area."

"My fiancé and I had the opportunity to dine at Opus 9 last Saturday night. It was wonderful to say the least. Our waiter, Steve, was extremely professional and added to the enjoyment of the evening. I personally had the swordfish-which was outstanding-and my fiancé, who is originally from Texas, said her ribeye steak was the best she had ever had. Opus 9 is perfect."

"Was a special occasion for my girl friend and myself. We had 5 parties in our section. Three of the five parties had complaints about food. The waiter hel the on table was asked by his customer to stop being so loud because he was being embarrassed. Do to there deaysit took us 30min past finishing our soup to receive our meals. Which to the disappointment of my girlfriend was terrible. I will not return to dine here or recommend this restaurant to friends."

"A great addition to New Town. Wonderful lunch menu, well priced. Great dinner menu with interesting specials. Billed as a steak house, Opus 9 truly does steaks right but my wife and daughter rave about the seafood selections that they've tried. The appetizer oysters are melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The wait staff is well-trained, knowledgeable about the menu items, and make you feel welcome -- really a class act. We've dined here for lunches and dinner and found the service, food quality, and ambiance to be consistantly the best around. Regardless of the time of day you can't go wrong here."
