"We were in San Francisco for a couple of nights and wanted to hear some live blues in a city club. Biscuits & Blues was perfect. An intimate room giving great connection to the performers (Chris Duarte), an enthusiastic but respectful audience. The food was great, just as advertised, we had fried chicken and a catfish po'boy along with a good Californian Cabernet recommended by our waiter.
A great night out."

"We visited Biscuits and Blues in San Francisco while on vacation. Surprisely, the flight attendant on our flight from Houston told us about this club. It turned out to be one of our most enjoyable nights in the city. There was dancing, entertainment and food so would definetly come back again."

"Fantastic for the Entertainment. We saw Alvon Johnson, and that was one of the best shows we have ever seen. We had seen him before, and when we heard he was playing, we went straight there after a 12 hour flight from London. The food is not as good as it was 18 months ago. No vegetarian options at all except for some weak nachos (bring back the jambalaya!) and the Bloody Mary was bland. Luckily we went for the entertainment."

"Seems strange that I would recommend a Blues venue for kids, but the early show was as family friendly as they advertised. We were pleasantly surprised by the tasty Southern fare. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgable in recommending gluten free choices for some of the diners at our table. Everyone enjoyed the music and the food."

"This is a place to hear great music AND have a good meal. Our server was truly amazing, really hustling to make everybody comfortable and happy. The food was delicious and came out in a timely way. I miss the crab cakes from the old menu but was happy with my catfish."

"The dress code is quite casual...My experience there was absolutely wonderful!!!! It was my first time there, I did not know what to expect, the food was delicious, the performer was energetic...OUTSTANDING! I am usually a laid back person(could be considered a "Bump on the Log"), however Earl Thomas and the Ambassadors will leave you wanting more, FANTASTIC. I will definately be going back to BISCUITS and BLUES to see Earl Thomas and perhaps other performers."

"Second time trip, and disappointed this time. The fried chicken was burnt. Took three times before it was barely edible. Lots of grease. I was through with my meal before my friend even got hers. It is a very crowded place. Waitress was nice, just overworked. Wouldn't you think that a place called Biscuit and Blues would give you at least one biscuit with your meal? No, you pay about $5 for a small basket, and I mean like 4 small ones. Hey, biscuits are cheap. Worst of all, they were cold. I asked about it, and the waitress said, that's the way we serve them. Has anyone there ever eaten Southern food in the South? It's also time for revamping the ticketing to get rid of the wad of people at the door. Let us print our own ticket in advance."

"Made reservations for the 10:00 pm show (Rick Estrin and the NightCats)...at 11:15 the waiter "warned" my table that he would be back in 2 minutes for our wine glasses! (he had picked up dishes from our food order). Staff was putting chairs on table tops by 11:00 pm. Band played for only 1 hour 15 minutes. It cost $20 each for the "entertainment" and $100 to split a sandwich and an order of pigeon hot wings...err..I mean chicken wings.
I would not only NOT recommend Biscuits and Blues, I would go out of my way to warn folks not to go there!!!

"Had heard about the prices being high and they were. The music was good, not great. The food was nothing special, didn't expect it to be. I just think for $44 for 2 tickets, $87.00 for food two, 3 beers and 2 ginger ales. And $12 parking (was discounted) for a total of $143, it should have been SPECIAL."

"Our experience at Biscuits and Blues was fantastic!!! The southern-inspired food was delicious! ... salad and gumbo, prawns and salmon, buscuits! ... and the music was unbelievable!!! The Alan Iglesias Tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughan couldn't have been closer to the real thing (tho' we sure with the "real" Stevie was still with us) ... and if the band ever returns to Biscuits and Blues, we will DEFINITELY return, too!!! ... if not sooner."

"This was the first time we have ever had dinner and watched a live blues band. The food was good and nice portion sizes, and the band we saw Lavay Smith and her Red Hot Skillet Lickers were fabulous. The next time I'm in San Francisco I will definitely take in another show. Great location as we were able to walk less than half a mile to the resturant from our hotel and not pay for parking. Definitely make a reservation, the place was PACKED! *smile*"

This venue is a GREAT spot to see & hear the entertainment, the food (we had the fried chicken & the meatloaf) was FANTASTIC, the service was spot on and our host & hostess were AWESOME!!!! We look forward to the next time we are visiting the Bay Area so that we can check out who's performing there, we would recommend going to the Biscuit & Blues for any occasion you can or just for the GREAT FOOD!!!!"

"Soul Food, Blues, and friendly atmosphere. Me and my girlfriend found this place on accident within walking distance of our hotel. The food was similar to my mothers kitchen as a child and the blues reminded me of days listening with my grandmother. The placce is energetic and fun. Worth every dollar I spent."

"Excellent food, great service, wonderful entertainment! We always like to have dinner first so we can get a good table, but in reality I don't think there is a bad seat in the house. The service is impecable. The wait staff works very hard to make sure you want for nothing - including making sure water glasses are always full.
Biscuits and Blues will definitely be part of our plans when we come to the city."

"Came on my 50th birthday, Friday 2/8/13, for dinner and a show. Had never heard of Andrew "Jr. Boy" Jones, but it didn't matter. Blues is blues! He and his band were a fine way to celebrate with my mom.
I had the Goat Cheese Salad and Crab Bisque. Mom had the same salad and the fried calamari. Both pairings were filling enough to not need entrees. The Crab Bisque was absolutely delicious! The goat cheese is breaded and fried. Very tasty. We were happy with the food, the music and the service. I love this place and plan to come up more. Powell Street BART is three short blocks away. Gotta love it!"

"A friend and I came on Saturday night to see Janiva Magness sing. Dinner was required on Saturday night at the 8:00 show, so we ate. I had the catfish, garlic mashed potatoes, and coleslaw. My friend had the crab cakes. We skipped the appetizers as we saw that the plates of food for folks around us had plenty.
We were not disappointed! Magness was fabulous in such a small venue and our dinners were delicious. No humongous American-sized portions that lead to humongous Americans, but good ample portions that were filling without being ridiculous. This is my go-to spot for the Blues and it's always a treat to get a good meal at the same time. I highly recommend Biscuits and Blues if you want to hear good music while eating some good fo"

"Biscuits and Blues is a great place for a fun night out. The food is very tasty and well prepared. The menu is limited, but well suited to a blues club. The atmosphere is lively and fun. The jambalaya was very good--plenty of spice and rich with seafood. The beef brisket was among the best I've had, in a black pepper sauce with garlic mashed potatoes and southern greens. The music was outstanding. The Aristocrats provided some of the best new music available today. Kudos to the club for bringing such a great, non-blues act to their stage. We had hoped for a better view, but it was a popular act and were a party of three which limited our table choices. The service was very good--attentive, but not intrusive."
