"Enjoyed a beautiful day on their small patio with wrought-iron furniture. Service is consistently very good. Always very fresh ingredients and an unapologetic use of fat to enhance flavors. Notable wine selection!
Southern flair to menu items makes it a little more difficult for strict healthy eaters. Ahi Tuna sandwich turned out to be a mayonnaise tuna salad. Wonderful Chopped Salad includes bacon and bleu cheese, which my guest omitted."

"I made reservations for 4 for Mother's Day brunch. The menu was nice, but overpriced. We got an appetizer of fried green tomatoes, which were outstanding, but for $7, I was expecting more than just 4 slices. For my meal, I ordered "bacon chocolate waffles" for $10. What I got was one normal-sized chocolate chip waffle with bacon pieces in it, and no sides. For $10, I was expecting a couple waffles and maybe some grits or hashbrowns on the side. I was also expecting a chocolate waffle, not just a waffle with chocolate chips. I could have made this at home. Don't get me wrong, it was good. Just not $10 good. For 4 people (2 coffees, one coke, and water) our total was over $70 for brunch! 3 of us were still hungry when we left."

"Hadn't been to Food 101 for awhile and thought it would be a nice place for Mother's Day brunch. Given it was a special occasion the place was very busy...and loud. While this is to be expected (especially with high ceilings) it was difficult to hear. It also seemed as though they packed in additional tables which made it difficult for the wait staff to maneuver. I had to shift my chair several times to prevent the wait staff from hanging over me as they passed by. There was also an entire tray of food dropped during our visit.
The above are all understandable however, what was disappointing was the food. I had the chicken and waffle. The waffle was cold and the chicken breast was very small. Not the quality I remember."

"We were a group of 4 for Mother's Day Brunch with reservations at 1:15 pm. We ordered an appetizer of Fried Green Tomatoes for the table. At 2:00, we asked the waitress about the appetizer and she said that it was on the way out of the kitchen. At 2:15, one hour after being seated, we received our entrees. We told the waitress to cancel the appetizer. Ten minutes later the appetizer appeared. We advised the server that we had canceled the order and he removed the appetizer. In my experience, any decent restaurant that makes a table wait so long to be served would provide the appetizer on a complimentary basis. Overall, we had high expectations for Mother's Day brunch. We were very disappointed with the service and the food was average."

Food 101 was the result and a great find.
Great beer and wine selection. Pleasant, attentive server with good recommendations. Georgia sourced menu items that were original and well prepared.

"I thought the food was good, but not great. I am never quite sure what the identity of this restaurant is. It has a high-minded menu, yet serves water in mason jars. You can tell the patrons aren't quite sure either by the variety in attire. There were people dressed nicely and there were also people in shorts and flip-flops."

"Food 101 is one of my favorite restaurants in the last few months due solely to its wonderfully tasty food! My husband and I have made reservations here with different friends and they all come away with the plan to return soon! The scallops with lentils is the best dish ever! "Went here for Easter Brunch with our family. Everything we tried was great. Service was fast and friendly (helpful since we had a lot of kids in our group). A bit drafty in the back room--we could literally see through the walls where mortar was missing, but a few napkins stuffed in the holes helped. Very nice restaurant-very kid friendly with a descent kids menu--my son's corn dogs were almost better than my own entree! Would definitely recommend Food 101 and will certainly be back!"

"Re-visited Food 101 for Sunday brunch after long absence. Asked for table against a wall through Open Table request, noting hearing impaired in our small party. Host told us all of these were reserved or taken, offered us any table in the center. With hearing impaired guest, the increasing level of noise made it impossible for us to have conversation. Live musician and high ceilings. Waitress very nice, moved and spoke louder when taking order. Food portions and presentation very good. "reserved" tables (seating total of 14) against wall remained empty through our meal. Won't return."

"Food 101 has declined in quality in recent years. By attempting "New Fusion Southern Cuisine," the sum of the elements are definitely not better than the parts. For the evening special, the fried green tomatoes were overcooked, the roasted Brussels sprouts were tough, and pan roasted red fish (otherwise flavorful) was overwhelmed with the sauce. Our server was friendly and efficient, but she could not compensate for the poorly prepared food. The restaurant's noise level (so typical for Atlanta restaurants) disqualify the venue for a conversational dinner with your significant other."

"Sat in the bar for brunch with three friends. Bartender/server "Peer", was too frazzled to serve properly. He's clearly in the wrong business. He complained about being too busy. He was short and sarcastic (not even funny sarcastic). He was slow. His bottomless Mimosas were inconsistent (regarding sparkling wine to OJ ratio). He was unresponsive and unattentive.
Overall, the service was HORRIBLE. Luckily, the food was delicious! We ordered from the brunch menu: Apps: Hashbrown Casserole=great flavor, very dry; Scotch Egg=delicious!; Mains: Chilaquiles=delicious!, Smoked Pork Shoulder Benedict=delicious!; Breakfast Club=didn't try but looked good"

Our shared appetizer was a delicious duck confit with mustard and the always delightful pickles. "This restaurant is very loud and the food is mediocre at best. Salads were good but the entrees and desserts were just OK. Overall, I would say disappointing. There were six of us and we all ordered different meals, so we got a sample of many dishes. We didn't love anything and could barely carry on a conversation given the noise level. This place is 5 minutes from my house but I probably won't bother to go there again."

"Always dependable... Menu offers something for almost everyone and some interesting choices as well.
101 is a pleaser for a good bite to eat and some conversation.
The interior is warm and inviting and they have good servers who are well trained.
I love them for Open Table as the 1,000 times are right after work when I want to go and avoid the true rush. In fact, I came back this evening because of the 1,000 offer that popped up so O.Table got me back for a visit and I am glad I came!"

"I haven't been to this restaurant in a while and my friends had never been. The food was excellent, but our server was not the best. She was a bit condescending in her tone and words-yes, m'am she sarcasatically repeated on multiple occasions. And, she didn't really seem to want to wait on us. We had to ask for bread, extra coffee,etc. and she seemed to just want to hurry us along and get us out of there.If you don't want to be pleasant to people, then don't be a waitress. I almost always tip 20% or more, but I barely wanted to give her anything. When you deliver a basket of bread to the table-don't just throw it down. I probably won't return to this restaurant. There are too many other restaurants in town whose wait staff is actually nice."

"Sprite was bad and had to order another drink, Fries were supposed to be app, came out after meal was served. Duck was WAY to well done and tasted like steak. Manager however was very understanding and comped us the fries and a dessert (which was mediocre)."

"The menu and décor have changed since we went to Food 101. The food and service were great, but the 2 managers hovered so much that they became annoying. We would still return and hope that the managers are more comfortable with their roles at that time."

"The menu looked promising. French fries fried in duck fat were incredibly dry and tastless. Dry chicken on hot chicken sliders. Bread served with bone marrow seemed to have been deep fried. (it was described by someone at the table as a bread home fry.) Why would anyone think that serving greasy bread with bone marrow is a good idea? There was no sign of flavor from the chorizo that was supposed to be on the scotch egg. Pumpkin ravioli was gummy and tasteless. They couldn't even get a "local artisan" cheese plate right. The only passable dish was the pimento cheese with pretzel bread. There were many unfinished plates left from our large party. Our server did a great job; that was the only bright spot."

"I haven't been to this restaurant in years and was really looking forward to brunch but the service was absolutely horrible. We waited 15 mins. Before having to ask about when our server would be coming over. The manager came over and never apologized for the ridiculously long wait but when a server came to the table she did apologize and provided great service. I believe our table was an unassigned, pick up table and that was the mistake. The food was interesting-not great- and it may be years before I go back again."
