The Moshulu, the most unique waterfront restaurant on the world’s largest four-masted sailing ship is located at Penn’s Landing. Martin Grims, owner of many popular suburban restaurants in partnership with his key management team, have totally renovated the ship, decorated in a South Seas attitude evoking the feeling of an exotic vacation destination. "It was our 35th wedding anniversary & requested a "quiet table". The hostess seated us in the middle of the restaurant, near the window, at a table which had the most uncomfortable seats- felt like we were sitting on lawn chairs. I then requested a booth, much better. Started with the lobster bisque & it arrived luke warm. Our entree was delicious and the wait staff was very accommodating. They did give us a special dessert for our anniversary but I don't plan on going back there; nothing extraordinary."

"Everything was great at Moshulu. I actually didn't know that it was literally on a boat so that was a bonus. The chef sent out a cheese and house cured meat selection for our table which was wonderful. I especially loved the prosciutto, the honey and the balsamic glaze.

"Several of my family members and I had lunch at the Moshulu after my graduation ceremony from Holy Family University's graduate program. It was only 11 minutes away from the Academy of Music, where the graduation was held. The ambience, food, and staff were exceptional. In the near future I will definitely attend a show at the Academy then go there afterwards for lunch or dinner."

"We hadn't been to Moshulu for a few years and this weekend decided to meet some West Coast friends there. Our first choice was Alma de Cuba but we weren't able to get a reservation here despite trying to make a reservation a week ahead. It turns out, though, that we were probably better off at Moshulu. The food and service were first rate and we were able to have a leisurely dinner (3+ hours) in a quiet and pleasant atmosphere that allowed us to catch up with our friends. After our experience this weekend we will be back again soon!"

"I went to the Moshulu for my birthday and it was absolutely wonderful!!! The food was outstanding and dessert was even better. With my dessert they gave me an exrta plate that had Happy Birthday written in chocolate, with two house made chocolate candies and tiny chocolate martini complete with a candle for me to blow out! The only problem that all 6 in my party had was that the chairs we sat in were rather uncomfortable. The bill for the 6 of us without drinks was over $500 so I would only reccomend this place for very special occasions."

"The weather has been getting better for outdoor dining and the menu options are changing with the season. I had a wonderful meal the other night that was well worth raving about. I started off with the seafood tower and the charcuterie assortment and finished off with the Halibut entrée special. There is always room for one of the special desserts. I would recommend everything that I had. The Moshulu is always a wonderful spot for a date night or just to catch a drink on the deck."

"Took my mom for brunch on Mother's Day. While the price was more than their regular brunch, it was worth it because they didn't overbook and it was nice and quiet, except for the two screaming children next door.
The food was pretty good and they offered a lot of different items. Our server, John, was a total babe and should have been on magazine covers instead of working as a server. Super nice staff and all very helpful."

"Moshulu is one of my family's favorite restaurants, and I have taken my mother there for Mother's Day for years. They always make it special, the servers are attentive, and the food is always excellent. They always have old favorites, like omelets and bisque, but they also often change things out to make it a unique experience every year. This year, they featured an area of dumplings, filled with pork, chicken, shrimp and vegetables, with a sweet chili sauce, that were delicious."

"I chose Moshulu based on our last experience (a birthdaycelebration) which was great. Once again the service and the food at Moshulu was top shelf. Our waitress was wonderful. She was attentive, knowledgable and always wore a smile throughout our entire time we were there. I would definitely recommend Moshulu as a great place for a romantic, intimate dinner. The staff never makes you feel rushed and is happy to accomodate their customers. It is a little pricey but well worth it. I hope to go back soon for the Sunday Brunch."

"The food was very good, as the was the wine. I was little disappointed at the end of the night because it was my boyfriends birthday and they brought out a lovely dessert which I thought was complementary...but it wasnt! "My husband and I don't often get a Sunday off together, but we were able to celebrate this Sunday at Brunch for our anniversary. We always pick Moshulu for our go-to Brunch. If you go early, it is quiet - before the groups and kids get there - no offense to them, it's just what we prefer. The food is top-of-the-line, both breakfast and lunch offerings. Our particular favorites are the Moshulu Omelette and the Lobster Bisque soup. There is an array of buffet appetizers (including hard to find caperberries) and a luscious desert buffet. You just order your entree. We kept George busy bringing us Champagne and Bellinis, but he was cool and never flustered - he was amazing. They also brought us a sorbet amenity for our anniversary. The Best."

"Another great evening at the Moshulu. Able to get our same waiter George who truly represents top service and a true professional. The white bean soup followed by the special "Cobia" were simply outstanding and as always a great wine list to choose from."

"Very very impressed! I was not expecting such a diverse and exciting menu, I also did not expect the hospitality that was given to us. I have driven by so many times without trying it out, I honestly thought it was just place for tourists. We will be back. The only downfall is the parking fee:("

"The appetizers were average, however, the filet with crab meat was good. I was disappointed because there was only like 5 other people in the entire restaurant. The view can be nice if you sit near the windows, however our service was disappointing because it was very slow (despite no one being in the restaurant)."

"My boyfriend & I take pleasure in going to nice restaurants to enjoy delicious meals. Sorry to say this was not the case at the Moshuolu. We were seated at a dime size table next to a large LOUD group of people. We had no room to move at all. We seemed to be in the pathway for the waiters and waitresses and almost got knocked out with platters and drinks. The lighting was so I couldn’t even read the menu; my boyfriend had to angle it so he could read to me what they had to offer.
The food was unremarkable and I have had better in the chain restaurant (sad to say.)
I do not have a huge appetite and I left hungry, needless to say we will not return."

"Great night for a special dinner on my fiancee's birthday. From a special card for her to a nice dessert, the staff at Moshulu went out of their way to make the night great. Carla provided excellent service and the food was amazing. The veal chop special almost melted in your mouth and the peanut butter cheesecake was worth every calorie. I'd definitely reccomend this place for a special night."

"Our first time dining on the Moshulu - a birthday celebration. I can truly give the highest ratings on everything from the food, to the atmosphere, to the service - all were A++. Our waiter was extrememly eloquent and accomodating - two glasses of special birthday champagne were given to us at no cost, as well as a delicious appetizer (compliments of the chef). We had the legendary lobster bisque as well as a cheese plate to start - delicious. For our main entrees, we did the salmon and mahi mahi. Both were prepared to perfection and presented beautifully. Dessert fell right in line with the high quality of everything else. We were thoroughly charmed - everything was well worth the price... it was an unforgettable dining experience."

"my wife and I had a fantastic time, the food and service we're both excellent. It was a bit noisy only because there was a wedding going on that night but overall we had a 5 star experience. The lobster bisque was the best I ever had and the steak was top notch."

"I frequent the Moshulu often but this was the first and last time I was there on Easter or any other holiday for that matter. "Madhouse" is the only way to describe it. The noise level was high. VERY high. The aisles to and from the buffet were impassable at times. I resented paying $3.50 for a glass of orange juice given the $45 per person flat fee which did not include even one complimentary mimosa or bloody mary. Skip the holiday experience and stick to their usual outstanding lunch or brunch."
