"I requested to be seated in the conservatory and enjoyed the view of greenery, a waterfall and streambed with colorful fish, tiny lights under the glassed roof, etc. Service was attentive and prompt. The food was above average. I appreciated the choice of wines by the glass and dessert wines (Port, etc.). For a more casual dining environment you can ask to be seated in the tavern. I also enjoyed two breakfasts at the hotel--one in the conservatory and one in the inside dining room."

"Have eaten here twice and not disappointed. Great service and good value for money. Nothing was too much trouble for the waiting staff and happy to offer smaller plates for smaller appetite. Great tasting food with regional fresh seasonal veg/and or salad. Could never manage a dessert but they looked delightful."

"I thought there would be more special additions to the buffet but it seemed to be the normal breakfast buffet. Would have liked more brunch type items."

"Went to to the Daniel Webster to celebrate my moms 70th birthday. We had 14 people in our group. My husband ordered a filet medium well, the steak came out very rear, when he told the waitress she grabbed a plate from a near by table and told him to out it on. We couldn't believe she did not take the entire plate. After 10 minutes she returned with the same plate and my husbands already cut steak and told us they put it back in the oven. We were in such shock that we just asked them to take off the price (40) and talked to the manager that this was not what was expected in such an expensive restaurant. His said they did not want to cook him a new one since it would take 25 min? The other dishes were ok, but not worth the money."

"We were a little disappointed because drove out there to have their "Poached Lobster" and was told they were out of lobster. We ended up having prime rib which was tender and very tasty. We hope next time we can get the lobster. They miss a star because of not having everything on the menu, otherwise it would have been 5 stars across the board."

"We were surprised to find the restaurant in a lovely inn with both formal and tavern dining. The food presentation in the formal dining area was first class; the food was tasty. The warm spinach salad with bacon and cranberries was delicious; the seafood risotto was loaded with seafood, and entree portions can be ordered in both full and half sizes. Along with one glass of merlot, we enjoyed the dinner rolls along with our meal. A stroll through the quaint town of Sandwich is a must either before or after the meal."

"I planned a luncheon meeting with a client, and when booking asked for a quiet table in the Daniel Webster conservatory dining room. Not only were we seated in the perfect spot, our server was more than patient with our Slow-food approach to ordering, as well as our lingering over an extra pot of coffee. Granted, the place was almost empty on a Monday; however, the graciousness of all the staff, particularly our server, would motivate me to return. The food was good, too."

"I have been going to Dan'l Webster for years since I live close by. We were very disappointed with our waiter took too long to get our bread, even the dessert menu, plus our checks. I figure he must be new since I have never seen him there before."

"We ate in the Pub dining room and it was perfect. Loved the historical aspect of the room. The menu had something for everyone and the server was very knowledgeable about the contents. The food was very good and the ingredients tasted very fresh. We will be back!"

"The inn is a great lace for a special occasion or just dining out. The food is excellent and the staff is extremely accomodating. We dined in the Conservatory Room overlooking a small waterfall and fish pool. It was a very nice atmosphere especially on a sunny day. We also enjoyed the menu on the Sunday Early Menu from 4:30 to 6 PM. Excellent food, variety and a very good value. It's a 45 minute drive from where we live but well worth the trip. We will definitely be back"

"A very limited menu on Easter, small portions and over priced. A place your Grandmother would like, rather stuffy and our table was very small, low and tight for five adults. They were useing every inch of floor space."

"I've been to the Dan'l Webster Inn to dine many times. This time was for Easter dinner. Although the food was decent to good, I felt the menu was very overpriced. Haddock was 27.95 and Prime Rib was 30.95. Also, I found it strange that they did not offer Ham as an entrée choice.
Honestly, I think for the future, they should consider offering their normal Sunday buffet brunch for Easter as well. It's far more appealing than their limited Easter menu. If the reason they don't offer the buffet brunch on Easter is to capture a higher price point for a plated meal, then sadly they have lost my Easter business for the future."

"We are a family of 4. Our kids are 18 & 11 years old. We were at the restaurant for Easter lunch. The service was fabulous; attentive, but not intrusive. The menu was not overwhelming & we all found things we liked. When our soups & salads arrived, they were delicious. Our entrees were scrumptious. Although we were full, we ordered desserts. They were also tasty. All-in-all, we loved our experience & we will definitely recommend the Dan'l Webster Inn & we will return as customers."

"Hi We had a brunch reservation for 1:00. We were seated right on time and the waitress was over fairly quickly. She was the only one who seemed to be working our particular room so she was very busy and it did take a lttle long to get our drinks. When we went to the buffet, there were a lot of dishes that were just about empty. It was very busy that day so I am sure things went very quickly but it did take some time for dishes to be refilled. Everything we ate was outstanding!! We had a really nice time despite just a few flaws for us. Thank you"

"We visited this restaurant for their Sunday brunch buffet. The food and service was very good, but it was a fairly busy day and the buffet area was quite crowded at times and people were bumping into each other. The worst part was when the buffet ran out of 5 items all around the same time and I could hear people complaining about it, including myself. This restaurant has been serving this brunch buffet for years and should be able to prevent something like this from happening. This wasn't the first time I have seen this situation come at their their buffet brunch, but I hope they can resolve the issue. We will continue to visit for brunch none the less."

"Service was very slow and menu was limited but it was valentines day so that can be expected. Generator ran out of gas during dinner so it was very dark in there for about 30-45 minutes. Food was still excellent."

"We were there for Valentine Day and everything was superb - food was to die for. Only thing that was off - was the service. They served a dish that was not ordered but was quickly replaced wih the correct dish and I wish they were more attentative to refilling my water. Otherwise the service would have been a 5-star."

"We had high expectations for this lunch...my 62nd birthday, my parents 64th wedding anniversary and the first venue for my 28 year old daughter to show her new husband where she ate lobster bisque for the first time, kneeling on a chair in white tights! The Conservatory where we asked to be seated was lovely...the table perfect...the ambience quiet (on a Monday afternoon). The server was accommodating and professional. It was the food that fell short. Except for my mother who had French Onion soup and was very happy with it, all the rest of us were disappointed. Actually I don't think anyone took anything home, except my son who had the lobster grilled cheese and they left out his fries We won't go back."

"We have been there several times recently for both lunch and dinner. We have found the food and service to be very good although does get a bit slow when they get busy. The food has always been good as are the desserts and drinks. We had a six o'clock reservation this most recent visit and were seated promptly. We are on the Cape often and this is definitely a favorite spot."

"Service was very poor. Our waitress was very inattentive and uninterested in serving us. She never came by during our meal to see how we were doing, never brought our rolls even after we asked, and didn't even have the courtesy to personally bring the bill back at the end. This waitress clearly does not enjoy her job."

"Everything was just perfect, from the room, the food, and ambiance. The stay started with my wife's massage at the Beach Plum Spa, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Dinner was outstanding. They even cleared a table in the tavern so we could he an after dinner drink to celebrate my wife's birthday. The breakfast, the following morning was outstanding. It was a great time."
