"This restaurant has a great patio and attentive service, but the food is average at best. We shared a grilled calamari, which was fresh and nicely presented on a bed of greens, but quite bland in taste. The eggplant parmesan was nicely done, with lots of cheese and tasty cause, but my husband's steak was not prepared well (served well done instead of medium rare, and the potatoes that came with it looked burned). Overall, the cost benefit is just not there - one would expect more from such an extensive menu and well-appointed dining facilities."

"Great little spot for quiet Italian dining. Cool ambiance. We visited on a Sunday at 4:00 pm, big event day, super sunny so there was no one. Just us. The park is right across the street with the hustle and bustle of families, kids and dogs. A local place but super close to Union Station. We walked to and from the subway. The food was authentic and plenty of it. Our daughter had a cheese pizza made just like she liked it. Thin crust, bubbly cheese and crunchy crust. Not a bit left. Caprese salad was fresh, drinks cold, wine list had plenty of good local options. Good price and value. Service was good--just needed to notice little things like silverware and napkins on the table. But super friendly which made up for it. Thanks!"

"The food was very good and the servers were friendly. My only issue was that they were having an event that night and anyone one who wasn't apart of it had to sit in the bar which became a bit cramped. Otherwise, a nice evening."

"Went for lunch on a Sunday afternoon and what a wonderful surprise. Both the food and the service was top notch. My wife had the Lasagna and I had the Vitello Alla Romana and both dishes were outstanding. We had it with a bottle of the house Valpollcella which was excellent.

If you are looking for some decent Italian food in the St. Lawrence Market area you will not go wrong here."

"Second time there...food was fab both times. First time Insalata Alla Montagna - added salmon so made it an entree - was great; this time the Linguini Monte Mare - again, great. Service also top notch (thanks to Ryan)- flexible, accommodating,recognized our time limitations. Only complaint is the coffee - way too strong/flavour not good; otherwise - will def. come again when downtown. (And a major consideration...they validate parking!)"

"When we arrived at the restaurant we were welcomed by the usual sign 'wait to be placed'. But no one was standing at the entrance. After waiting 5 minutes we decided to move inside and signal our presence to the waitress. Seems to be a quiet place on weekdays.
Food was good, especially the veal who was extremely tender. Salad was just ok but really nothing special.
We ordered an Italian wine on the wine list but it was not available. The waitress advised us for another one that was great and even cheaper, which is very honest of her.
All together, a nice place to go, not too fancy, yet still correct. Expect a bill around 50 CAD per person, including tax and gratuities, excluding wine. Fair for this downtown Toronto location."

"The service was amazing our server was very good, we had the pre fixe - our Halibut was overcooked to the point of being tough and we could not eat it - but they did reduce our bill to accommodate this. I will give them anotehr try to see if this was just a one time thing"

"I went to Vagabondo for dinner on Valentine's Day and the atmosphere exceeded my expectations. I loved seeing the dedication to Valentine's Day spirit, with red heart-shaped balloons spread out around the restaurant and table.

The decor: very classy and very romantic thanks to candlelight. The floors were a rich, deep colour and tables were divided into open "rooms" separated by curtains.

Servers were very attentive to our needs and did an excellent job of showing up frequently enough to make sure we had what we needed but without interrupting our meal.

The only downside is that we were forced into the prix fixe Valentine's Day menu, which was out of my planned budget. At least the menu had delicious options and was vegetarian frie"
