Enotria Restaurant and Wine Bar is proud to offer a seasonally inspired menu featuring ingredients from the local bounty of Sacramento. As one of Sacramento's most exciting and creative chefs, culinary master Pajo Bruich displays his unique talent with creative flavor profiles and seasonal, locally farmed sourced ingredients.
Enotria proudly offers multiple options for dining to our guests. Our main dining room features two exciting Chefs Tasting Menus that change weekly. Additionally, Enotria provides a lively dining experience in our Wine Bar. In addition to our exciting hand-crafted cocktails and extensive wine selection, we offer our in-house charcuterie & artisanal cheeses, as well as a variety of small plates & snacks.
"We enjoyed our dining experience at Enotria. The patio was nice, the service was outstanding, the live music a lovely plus and the wine and food was delicious. The wine pairing was very delightful with enthusiastic presentations by the sommelier. Although it is not unexpected for a fine restaurant, the tiny portions were disappointing. It felt like the taste buds were being teased rather than fully engaged. I would recommend this for a special occasion but the price for the tiny portions will make it just a once in a life-time experience for us."

"Enjoyed our experience at the Enotria Restaurant very much. The last time I was there, was before the major remodel and I am pleasantly suprised with the new room layout and decor. The staff is fast, courteous, energetic and very efficient, with never pushing you to complete a course, just letting you enjoy.
We had the five course (with very different choices) with wine parings, and both agreed that the wine parings were not as good as expected. The main courses of: Suzuki and Scallops were very good and of course, the sweet section was excellent.
We will return and hopefully enjoy the atmosphere, food and drink the next time around."

"If there is a heaven, the food there would be of Enotria's caliber. I celebrated my 60th birthday at Enotria and ordered the 7-course tasting menu with wine pairings. Every dish was amazingly beautiful and so delicious. This is without a doubt the best dining experience to be had in Sacramento currently. The ambience was quiet and the lighting was perfect. The service was the best it could be (thank you Jen!) and the sommelier gave a succinct description of each wine with a little history of each vintner. The food...the food....so good it is hard to come up with the adjectives to describe it. The food was beyond excellent--every dish was the perfect blend of flavors, texture, and colors. I will be back to dine here again!"

"Enotria is the best restaurant in Sacramento, and it gives the best Bay Area and Napa serious competition. The artfully presented, perfectly prepared dishes on the tasting menu are simply superb. If you order ala carte, portions are larger and again superb. Our dinner was flawless, everything perfectly prepared and so delicious, it was mind-blowing. The service was impeccable, attentive and personal without being intrusive. The sommelier is one of the most knowledgeable I have encountered and the recommended wines were both delicious and perfectly paired with the dishes. This really is an amazing experience and well worth the expense."

"Very limited street parking, but there is convenient valet at the curb for $5.
The staff is friendly and attentive. The wine list has plenty to choose from. The dishes are good but on the very smaller side. You can order a la carte, opt for a 5 course, or 7 course meal where you mix and match dishes from the menu. The presentation of the dishes is excellent but at the end of the night, two 5 course meals and one glass of wine, after tax and a 20% tip rang to the tune of about $210. The rib eye my wife had was about the size of her palm. The food was good, but the value was not there. The $31-$50 price rating on Open Table is not a realistic figure unless you plan to follow up with another meal someplace else afterwards."

"Service was really very good. Food was good; not great. Very expensive for what you receive. Five course "tasting" menu was $75/person w/ no wine. A few items had up charges. Wouldn't have minded the $8 up charge for the ribeye, if they actually gave you a reasonable piece of steak. This was over cooked and probably < 4 oz. Scallop main course was one single scallop. Other main courses were equally small. Cheese and charcuterie were tasty, but served w/ out bread or crackers (unless you payed $3/person for rolls). Presentation of dishes was excellent; really beautiful food. Desserts were only fair. Just wish portions were a bit larger, prices a bit smaller, and silly up charges eliminated."

"If you want to experience great food at a nice pace this is tha place. Each portion is presented separately on its own plate with the appropriate cutlery. This helped us experience the food instead of just wolfing it down. We were hungry when we came and initially were concerned we wouldn't be filled but at the end we were very satisfied and even over filled. We both ageed that the veggies were the best and we are confirmed meat eaters. The protien portions were excellent it we never had such veggies."

"If only I had known when I agreed to go to the restaurant what I know now. When ordering from the a la carte menu the portions served were tasting menu size (e.g . one "dinner" had 2 scallops, the other 2 - 1" x 3" strips of rib eye steak). Go to Enotria for the dining experience of trying good tasting, beautifully presented dishes in a nice setting but do not go hungry."

""Elf food for really high prices." That's what springs to mind in recalling our visit. We were so put off by the high price of the tasting menu that we decided to make do with a couple of appetizers and a glass of wine. The fries were very tasty. The chef's selection charcuterie and cheese platter was artfully arranged and visually appealing. Even though the individual components on the platter tasted very good, the quantities provided for $30 were ludicrously small. Service was excellent--friendly, knowledgeable and attentive without hovering. Perhaps when we're in the mood to spend $300 to $400 on a very special occasion, we might return."

"This is a very special dining experience. We did the tasting menu. This probably was a pricier option so my commments may not apply to other seating. The total bill for the meal with wine pairing and tip was $400. I would have had no reservations for it being $300 but I do feels that is too high. I cannot praise the wine list and the pairings enough. Unique, perfectly paired and superb.. It would be worth just having appetizers and tasting the wine. It is beyond wonderful, The food is also great. It is presented artistically and the service is flawless. So if cost is not a concern by al means go."

"This was a return visit to experience the new chef & outdoor dining. The quality, flavor & especially presentation were excellant. However, the number of menu choices, quantities & price were disappointing. If this were a large city or spa, the quantities and pricing would be more in line but... this is not that location nor is it in a desirable section of Sacramento. While the food was excellent, it is not a destination we will hurry back to, even for a special occasion, nor recommend to our friends. We are surrounded by too many other fine choices."

"Made a reservation for a birthday dinner. The only acknowledgement of this when the person called to confirm our reservation. When got to the restaurant, no acknowledgement of birthday at all, no free dessert or even a happy birthday from the server. The food is overpriced. 2 slices of ribeye for $45 is ridiculous, at least at Morton's you get the entire steak. Was not impressed and don't plan to come back."

Enotria's ambiance, staff and chef's provide outstanding food and service that almost feels personalized. Their sommelier staff (thanks Kara) was informative, polite and engaging. From the attentive staff to the outstanding meal and wine pairings Enotria furnishes the foodie in you a memorable dining experience."

"The food was amazing. We were concerned about what we thought were small plates, however, it turned out to be perfect. Small plates of absolutely delectable items leaving you wanting to lick the plate. The service was spot on and they kept things moving, never really leaving the table empty of something wonderful to eat. The little baked breads were each different and each amazing. The bacon bread was to die for...and the butter with the volcanic salt, wonderful. Throughout the meal it was clear that the Chef and his staff thoroughly understand seasoning, it was perfect. My wife and I decided that it was the best meal we had ever had...that sounds dramatic, it is not. We eat our regularly and often...Enotria is special."

"Second visit since restaurant dramatically revamped. Menu consists of two choices of tasting menus. Food is modern and adventurous. Portions are appropriately small for a tasting menu but lack powerful punch of flavor. Components on the plate, while individually tasty, do not always meld cohesively. Desserts lack flavor, although they look interesting. Expensive - you are paying for labor, not flavor."

"Service was very good and food outstanding. We sampled a number of dishes from the a-la-carte menu in the wine bar; all were delicious and the presentations very creative. Only complaint, portions were incredibly small. Perhaps the portions served in the main dining room on each of the 3 tasting menus are more plentiful. In fairness, as our party of 4 shared everything, this may have contributed to our perception of portion size. Although the area of Sacramento in which the restaurant is located is in the midst of redevelopment, a change in location might be in order, especially given the cost of this dining experience. A venue change would well serve the lofty ambitions of Enotria's ownership."

"A little daunted by the prix fixe price levels, we opted to eat in the Wine Bar, whose decor was rather generic. I was wondering how many patrons were attracted by the glowing article in the Bee recently about the many-faceted manager. Our server was helpful and knowledgeable, the food more adventurous than we're used to, but hurray for that. I was a little timid, opting for the risotto, which was probably the best I've had, with a big cheesy layer on top that made it like a mac & cheese risotto. My partner had the scallops, which he pronounced delicious and we shared the rhubarb dessert, which I found interesting but not nearly sweet or fatty enough for my (gourmande) taste, but my more ascetic guy thought delicious."

"The good news is the food was very well prepared and came together nicely. The rest is down hill. The restaurant is in a very scary part of town. Upon entering A smell of bleach hits you, not something you want at a wine bar. The server Had a big tattoo on her wrist, which distracted from the presentation of the food. The wine flight was fair, but tasted like grocery store varieties. Lastly, it was Very pricey, not that that it is bad in and of itself, but they did not deliver a meal Worth the price. Would not go back."

"If you want to flush money down the drain and leave hungry...go to Enotria. We had the fixed price dinner, as well as some a la carte items. The first course was a tasteless gelatinous cube 3/4" topped with a 1/4" sliver of mushroom served on a spoon. The second course was some sort of, again, tasteless custard...maybe four tablespoons topped with about one half of an asparagus slivered lenghtwise...horrible. The main couse, fish was a small portion with good flavor a top a puree of some sort with two or three bites of cooked greens. The dessert was very similar to Yoplait yogurt, a third of the size topped with granola. A serving of bread, 3 pieces the size of a golf balls cost $3. The home spun butter..horrible. Money better spent elsewhe"

"Wonderful creations of food-as-art. Some may be put off by Enotria's location or the truly small portions (even for fine dining), but the detail in the preparation, the combinations of flavors, and the sauces are remarkable. I had the chef's tasting menu with delicious sturgeon, the best preparation of pork belly I have had, and a great lamb preparation. Others in the group enjoyed the pate and suzuki. Counting the cheese course and mignardises, we essentially also got four fabulous dessert courses. We enjoy The Firehouse and Hawks, but this is truly special food, not just for Sacramento."

"The food at Enotria is extraordinary: Each course offered a variety of flavors and textures, all based around a central item like a ribeye steak or small trumpet mushrooms. While the the presentation was always intriguing and the flavors satisfying, there were a few times when this microgastronomy restaurant tipped over into precious, fussy touches. Absolutely worth the price."

"I guess I don't get the style of food they serve. There is one precious little gem of something - cheese, lamb, pate - surrounded by other little bits of accent foods. And then the plate is dotted with intensely flavored spots of flavor and/or sprinkled with dried bacon or shortbread crumbs or whatever. Are you supposed to mix and scoop the entire plate onto two bites or are you supposed to enjoy the spots and dabs apart from the center of the dish? Everything we ate was good. But a lot of the meal struck me as showy but lacking in passion. That said, there were some real stand-outs: the agnoletti, the sturgeon and a chocolate truffle. Maybe our impressions were influenced by decor we found cold, unromantic and without charm."

"Sacramento's best restaurant, and perhaps one of the best in Northern California. I have eaten at Michelin starred restaurants, and Enotria is right with them or even ahead of them. The wine pairings with the tasting menu were spot-on. The food was perfectly executed, intriguing, and appropriately spaced between courses. I highly recommend Enotria to anyone looking for the perfect meal in Sacramento."

"Was not happy to discover that seating policy had changed and that in order to sit in the main dining area you had to pre-select that all members of your party would have the tasting menu. By the time I found this out it was too late to find another reservation. Since this reservation was made for a special occasion I felt somewhat coerced. That said - the food was outstanding. We did have the tasting menu and enjoyed it very much. cocktails were great. Also had one of the wine flights which is always fun. Pace of serving was a bit slow but the quality of the meal was excellent."

"We have been going here since the restaurant opened several years ago. It just keeps getting better. As good as a restaurant can get (think Manresa without the 'altitude.'). A gem in our own neighborhood.
We are looking forward to the opening of the local produce market nearby. May that happen soon.
Added note: We hope that Enotria is never tempted to move to a more "desirable" location. The location itself is one of the things that makes it such a find for most people who do not really know Sacramento. This is also a civically-committed restaurant--rare these days."

"The prices have more than doubled and the choices are very little. The menu is set with six courses. The first three courses you get to choose between two in each section. The next three are set. We were glad that we ordered a first course of cheese and meats with yummies and bread or we would have left hungry. Our usual bill in the past was about $150 with drinks/not wine. Now the $100 a piece pre-set dinner and a first course came to $340 with a 20+% tip. We did not drink this evening. The food is very good and some of it is outstanding. The servers are great but they were caring for too many tables a piece. The best deal hear is their special dinners and tasting parties."

"We arrived this week for a light dinner. When seated we realized the restaurant had switched to 2 tasting menus, and offered no al a cart service anymore. They were very nice but we were not up to a $85 per person 5 course meal. We ended up with a wine flight and a cheese and charcuterie plate in the bar that was absolutely amazing. Not sure of their plans but an al a carte menu would be nice, especially in the warmer weather on their patio."

"When you're ready to try new food combinations, delight your taste buds, and drink from a carefully chosen wine selection; make a reservation at Enotria and prepare yourself. My wife and I recently enjoyed a sensational dining experience there. It was our first time at Enotria, and we were very happy with the quality of food, wine, and service. The restaurant area is actually quite intimate, with a classy subdued elegance, and the noise level was very low as the dining area sits apart from the bar area in the front of the restaurant. We enjoyed every course, they were exceptionally prepared with a variety of tastes and textures. The service was simply top-notch. Enotria is on our very short list of "special occasion" restaurants."
