Saxon + Parole, conceived by the award-winning AvroKO Hospitality Group and Executive Chef Brad Farmerie, creators of NoLIta's PUBLIC, brings a global approach to traditional grill fare, within a warm and inviting space on the Bowery. The 112-seat restaurant – named after two prize-winning, New York-bred racehorses – features rich design elements and modernist details, paying homage to the numerous horse stables that once populated Lower Manhattan. The menu explores traditional grill fare, with a focus on domestic meat and seafood, as well as seasonal and sustainable produce. Diners can expect a global twist in the seasoning, cooking methods, and ingredients – highlighted in dishes such as 28-day dry-aged NY strip steak with bone-marrow béarnaise, Heritage farms USA roasted pork rack with purple-potato salad, and roasted Atlantic cod with a tomato-caper broth, Manila clams, braised fennel, white beans and Tuscan kale
"The food was amazing! The actual server was not so attentive, he didn't keep our Rose bottle chilled, took him 25 mins to take our order and didn't check in on us to see how were doing.
Our water was constantly refilled thanks to the bus boys/runners.
Thankfully we weren't in a rush the food was great. However would of liked a bit more attention and care."

"Try the brussel sprouts. Otherwise, the food is fine, not remarkable. I found the service less than acceptable. My table was ready, but had to wait an uncomfortably long time to be seated. Once at my table, I had to get up and find my waiter or else I was about to order a drink at the bar so I could bring it back to the table. Lastly, there might be an adjustment to the wine list; the least costly bottle is $45.00. At least one should be under $40.00."

"I thought that the prices were a bit aggressive for what I got. I also found the pork chop to be pretty fatty. However, the Prince Edward cocktail was out of this world. Every scotch enthusiast should try this drink!"

"Truly disappointing experience at Saxon + Parole. I had high hopes for this place due to critic reviews. My sister's birthday dinner was ruined due to terrible service and mediocre food. I will not be back to dine and will tell my friends to save their money!"

"Firstly let me say that I have eaten in many restaurants all over the World, and Saxon and Parole located at 316 The Bowery off Bleecker Street is my favourite in Greenwich Village, the staff ensure that a brilliant atmosphere is created for couples and groups alike. The food is cooked to the highest of standards with a perfect choice of drinks to accompany your meal on the wine list. The location of restaurant is also good to provide the perfect night out in Manhattan. I would and have recommended to my friends and family and have the comfort of knowing that they wouldn't be disappointed."

"omg what happened to one of my favorite restaurants?? To start off the stoned bartender took 15 minutes to make my 3 drinks, seriously. & the bar was not crowded so go figure. The chef must have changed because the food tasted like I was eating in a different restaurant. It was 4 of us dining and none of us were impressed. So sad to see this decline. I won't be back."

"Ate here for lunch for the first time and have enjoyed dinner here a number of times. This is a great spot all around! I work in the area - this s a great spot to bring clients or enjoy a nice sit down to a relaxing lunch/brunch. Enjoyed the best mid day spiked drink I've had in memory - a freshly squeezed green juice that can be ordered w or w/o the booze. EXCELLENT BLAT sandwich! Don't hesitate, just go! Your most difficult decision will be - do I sit outside in the sunshine or inside one of the best restaurant interiors around."

"lunch on the terrace was really lovely. enjoyed a couple of their 'refreshers', which are cocktail-like concoctions without booze, really nice. food was also super tasty: had the big BLAT sandwich, which was indeed massive and delicious!"

"Great food! My sea bass had a crispy skin but tender, flaky meat and the mushroom side was delicious. The cocktails are also commendable. All around a great spot - suited for a date if you don't mind the loudness upstairs. Ask to be seated in the cellar downstairs for a bit more quiet."

"The food took forever to come, but it was delicious when it did arrive. I thought the branzino dish was too salty. LOVED all the veggie dishes. The restaurant was kind of cold too...most of us were wearing our coats. Drinks were amazing."

"Friendly and good service. Hamburger came well done and I had ordered medium rare. When I complained to the waiter he immediately apologized, took it back to the kitchen and brought me a complimentary appatizer so I would have something to eat while my tablemates dined. Very thoughtful! Excellent! Great ambiance. Highly recommended."

"YES, saxon now serves lunch! love this spot for dinner/drinks, so happy to be able to drop by in my lunch hour a sandwich or salad. AND they serve lunch on the terrace, AND they also have my favorite sandwiches (the big BLAT and their yummy burger) available to go from that cute take out window they set up. they also now serve refreshers which are like cocktails without the booze, perfect lunchtime treat."

"This is one of my go-to spots for brunch in the city- absolutely love their version of eggs benedict with mangalista ham. They just started offering lunch this week, so friends and I popped in. The chilled soup was delicious, as was everything else on the menu. Fresh, light, and well-prepared. But the refreshers were the best part! Fresh squeezed juices- can't go wrong! Definitely worth the price if you can sit outside, too."

"Tables are now out front for Spring and the whole place was buzzing. The food was prepared perfectly and we started with a mushroom pot (which is a must- one of the best hidden secrets on the menu). Ended with a smores in a jar thingy which smells like a yummy campfire when opened."

"Amazing as per usual. LOVED our server Ella and the over all vibe was hopping but super comfortable in our booth. Got the gnocchi and the bass and was blown away by both. They suggested a rhubarb cocktail for my husband that was not sweet just perfectly balanced and I had a modern sangria of sorts. What they do at the bar is magic."

"The only emotion I can evoke from having dined at Saxon + Parole is sadness for the waitstaff. They were all seemingly miserable, and couldn't do their jobs because of it. Except the slightly bigger Asian girl who we started off with, it took her 10 minutes to get us water and drinks but at least she looked happy. Everyone else, painfully depressed and angry at the world. The salad we started off with reminded me of what i throw together when things are about to go bad in my refrigerator.Fish was cooked well, sauce was so salty I could barely eat my meal. Dessert was good. The tall waiter (we had several waiters) actually leaned over my boyfriend to grab the check he had his arms resting on, grabbed it, and walked away without a thank you."

"The food was excellent, however, the hostess was standoff-ish and snobby and the waiter was a bit ditzy. He never brought us bread - some tables got it, some didn't. He dribbled wine all over the table which he didn't even attempt to wipe up."

"Had one of my best meals in New York here. The food was outstanding, and the waiter simply charming. The only slight marr to the evening was the po-faced receptionists; two rather snooty girls who were totally charmless. Also the room was a tad chilly for a wintery night...but we didnt let those things ruin our night!"

"The wine, food, and service were all outstanding. Very cool decor. My only critique was that the music was a little loud. I did like the music selections, however, so eventually I got used to the volume and it didn't bother me, especially as the restaurant filled and it got noisier. When we first arrived at 6:00, the restaurant was pretty empty. By the time we left at 7:45, every table was occupied and the bar was humming.I suppose that by the time we left, the volume of the music was totally appropriate."

"Another amazing meal at my local fave. Obsessed with the sweet potato gnocchi right now and the Brussels sprouts with yuzu hollandaise. Also the cocktails are top shelf so there is always something delightful and new. Did the Moscow mule and I don't know what's in it, but its a perfect balance of sweet and sour without being too sweet! Highly recommend the whole experience."

"Came here for convenience of location and reviews. The meal started out with very flavorful and inventive appetizers, and then dropped below par for the main courses, which were boring and not so good. Dessert was also less than inspiring, although a few of the desserts were inventive too. We decided it was not worth the hype. Plus, they need to train their buss staff not to put out the candles and start to clean up a dinging room while it is occupied. That turned us off a lot. Too many other places to try besides here."

"Beautiful decor, busy on a Friday night. There is a big difference in ambiance between upstairs and dowstairs. There was 1 waiter for the downstairs section and we were forgotten the entire meal. Food portions are small; average. Go for a cocktail. Wouldn't go back for dinner."

"Rudest hostesses I have ever encountered. They act as if working some private club with a strict door policy. Our waitress was terrific. Sadly, the experience was overshadowed by the rude hostesses. This is the second time I've had this type of encounter there. I will never go back to this place.
